An anthem for my generation...this is the baseline/soundtrack of my high school years. I fell in love with this intro (Sirius) and the way it fades into Eye in the Sky...perfection. The mere fact that it is still used during almost every sporting event , basketball games, etc...truly shows it has stood the test of TIME. He really read my mind with these lyrics...Thank you, Alan Parsons.

They tell us everthing they are doing to us, through movies and through their musicians. Only devil worshippers become famous to be worshippers by people.
The lyrics are about the fallacy of gambling (and the feeling of being robbed)... "The Eye In The Sky" is the gambling house CCTV watching its players from above...
Listening to this Alan Parsons song on Labor Day 2020, remembering it on the radio in the car with my husband in the 80s... he's been dead for 11 years... I still remember all the words, haven't heard it in decades
If you were into the Beatles and Pink Floyd in the '70s, it's quite hard to have missed the Alan Parsons Project. Alan Parsons famously worked as an engineer on Abbey Road and The Dark Side of the Moon amongst other famous LP of the era. That all depends on where you grew up I guess and whether local radio stations played Alan Parsons work on the air. In Lebanon in the '70s where I grew up, The Alan Parsons Project was a staple on the airwaves along with Floyd, Elton John, Bowie, Electric Light Orchestra, Zeppelin, Beatles, etc...
Alan Parsons is a synonymous of musical ellaboration and accuracy. This live performance at Colombia is a good sample of it. God bless Alan Parsons and his excellent music through decades.
Gracias totales.
Wife and I are going to see them at the world-famous Ryman in Nashville this next weekend. Should be a good show and I'll post some of it when I get a chance. This vid getting 72M views is insane.
Both of you watch old videos of the Bulls. You can record Jordan running on that court and loop that intro. I mean big Jordan years. He was still flying like superman in that air. I think Bulls everytime I hear that shit. I heard that through like a 3 peat plus of Bulls years. If they were on the court in those years these guys would never be singing they could read his mind. That guy would fly over anyone of these guys singing that like The Flying None when he was winning against the best in bb. Lebron who? Hahaha
This MAN and his music is so very incredible so many years ago and yet so fresh to hear. As an Audio Engineer, some years ago I was able to meet Alan and pose several questions to him (Webster University event) and even remark on my questions, as interesting! Was a very approachable artist & Producer during his presentation. Not to mention what a physical giant in both size & stature he imposed to everyone there.. A day never forgotten.
Amazing that he is actually singing too. He's primarily an engineer and producer. The nearest equivalent is having George Martin taking lead vocals on a Beatles' song.
Mi padre tambien...me enseño en Ucrania a escondidas de cccr.
Alan Parsons is an exceptional man, he is a GENIUS of music and emotion, I find his voice simply wonderful, and I like very much to listen to these marvelous masterpieces
And I was surprised that he was the one singing. Normally it was Eric Woolfson doing the vocals. However, if this was recorded after 2009, it would have had to be someone else, as Woolfson had passed from cancer.
There are some concerts that can't be missed. This is one such concert. All the stars and the Moon and the Sun were aligned perfectly and how lucky this audience was to be there and experience this concert. You can feel the electricity and energy and Magic just watching the video. Can you imagine the chills up your spine being one of those lucky concert goers. Just look at the tribute his singer gives him at 4:53 with hands on his heart and then with raised fists to tribute Alan. He knows this is special. I know this is special and you know this is special. Now listen and have this song in your head for the next three days and if this song is connected to a lost love then for the rest of your life.
His music? Do you know he had Eric Woolfson as songwriter and a huge team of musicians? He didn't do everything by himself and he was mainly the producer.

Made some of the lies worth believing
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind, I can read your mind
Don't leave false illusions behind
Don't cry cause I ain't changing my mind
So find another fool like before
Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see anymore
To know that
I can read your mind,
(Looking at you)
I can read your mind
(Looking at you)
I can read your mind
(Looking at you)
I can read your mind

An anthem for my generation...this is the baseline/soundtrack of my high school years. I fell in love with this intro (Sirius) and the way it fades into Eye in the Sky...perfection. The mere fact that it is still used during almost every sporting event , basketball games, etc...truly shows it has stood the test of TIME. He really read my mind with these lyrics...Thank you, Alan Parsons.
Quit asking who is listening 2020/2021. Some of us never stopped listening to APP.
👏👏👏 exactly
Heard this when I when I was at Norther Michigan.......Marquette, MI.......back in 1977.....will LOVE this FOREVER......now I am 64......Miss those days!
A brilliant, beautiful song as relevant as ever. Long live Alan Parsons and his music!
zzzzźzźzzzzz
They tell us everthing they are doing to us, through movies and through their musicians. Only devil worshippers become famous to be worshippers by people.
One of the best songs of all time. And lyrics that mean something.
means everithing...enough for a life
The lyrics are about the fallacy of gambling (and the feeling of being robbed)... "The Eye In The Sky" is the gambling house CCTV watching its players from above...
Listening to this Alan Parsons song on Labor Day 2020, remembering it on the radio in the car with my husband in the 80s... he's been dead for 11 years... I still remember all the words, haven't heard it in decades
sorry you lost your man, best regards David ♥

I remember being sick from school at home when this song came out. I was on the couch watching MTV and that was it, I was blown away.
Who is listening to this with me in December 2020!?
I'll listen after you.

Alan Parsons has always been one of my favorite groups of all time.

This concert was in Medellin? Do you know when it took place? Muchas gracias, bro! Hello from Columbia, Missouri, USA. 🇺🇸🇻🇮

Greatest intro to any modern song, Hands down!
I'm 77 yrs old and where have I not noticed this band before,
Must be a wonderful feeling sir!
I don't understand because Dr Tarr/Professor Fethers was a huge radio hit, as was this song and a few others. I'm 60 and remember him well.
Never too late :-)
I was born in 2000 . This song is one of my father's favorite . he had passed away in 2019.but i'm still listening to this song in 2024 ❤😢
I've listened to this song a million times.

Great song !
Me too. Growing up in the generation of good music of the 80s was a true blessing that we took for granted
Same ouups! :)
Alan Parsons is a synonymous of musical ellaboration and accuracy. This live performance at Colombia is a good sample of it. God bless Alan Parsons and his excellent music through decades.
its mediocre music at best. he cant sing
@@fizywig Agree. I was to slow. 20 hours to the eternity... ;-)

Gracias totales.
2024. This song remains a masterpiece.
Amen brother
Oh yeah
No argument there. Now or in 20024.
Michael Jordan's theme song. The GOAT
Wife and I are going to see them at the world-famous Ryman in Nashville this next weekend. Should be a good show and I'll post some of it when I get a chance. This vid getting 72M views is insane.
This man mixed the Beatles Abbey Road and Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon and still found time to do his own music, too.
Its amazing that He has also his own style
It was a fantastic song, I loved it then and i still love his sound now!!

Pink Floyd. Dark side of The moon.
yes a true musician, an inspiration to all budding musicians so bloody well do your homework and listen to this man!
I can't believe this song still means so much to me when first dropped. Still blows me away. Love it!
Alan Parsons does not walk on stage. He teleports to it when it is ready for him.
+Sammetalion agree, rare talent john
He looks like Wolfman Jack
SUGAR XYLER showing your age. I don't think anyone here knows who that is, cept us
TheLight IsOn I'm proud of my age (*_~)
SUGAR XYLER me too. It was meant to be funny. 😊
Magnificent intro.. could last 3 hours I would listen days and nites
Put it on a loop? :-)
Me also!

A day never forgotten.
amazing how a guy can get about 60 backup musicians to his five note intro. Still, one of my all time favorites.
Amazing that he is actually singing too. He's primarily an engineer and producer. The nearest equivalent is having George Martin taking lead vocals on a Beatles' song.

Saldremos adelante, !!!

Kids today have no clue as to what they're missing.
Agreed
As a teenager, i must disagree😎
True statement!
Nunca lo entenderán!!!
Not missing anything

The words to this song have true meaning, especially in today's crazy society.
I like the song very well

A Wonderful Song. I Love It !! I have have to say how impressed I am towards this Drummer. Stunning !! Thank you.
He is such a musical genius. You see the respect shown him by all on stage.
His music was above the time, advanced beyond belief. I adore the artist and his awesome, fantastic, brilliant and outstanding music.
His music? Do you know he had Eric Woolfson as songwriter and a huge team of musicians? He didn't do everything by himself and he was mainly the producer.
Only artist that compares to those 2 are Rush.
this is really one of the best songs ever produced in the history
Well, that makes sense. Alan Parsons is a legendary producer too; his work producing Dark Side of The Moon was a masterclass.
