I can't find a way to access my extra usb storage on my OTG cable using this method. You really are an excellent teacher as your words are so clear and specific, always helping us to not go down the wrong path. Hope you can help with the OTG storage question!
If you have files saved/downloaded to your external storage, the best way to view them on your PC is to remove the USB from your Firestick and plug it into your PC and explore the files that way. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️

Depending on how you add your storage will affect how you can see your storage in a file explorer.
If you only attach storage and don't do anything else to it (like allocate or partition to system storage) then this is a great way to explore your storage - ruclips.net/video/zM52i-VhjPU/видео.html
If you use ADB to partition your storage as PRIVATE, you are no longer able to view the contents. It is inaccessible by any file explorer application. You will need to use the df -h command to see your storage space. Here is a video showing you how - ruclips.net/video/RI6Gj0zwdQw/видео.html
If you use ADB to partition your storage as MIXED, you will ONLY be able to see the partition of your storage that is not allocated to system storage by using a file explorer app. This is a great way to explore that part of your storage - ruclips.net/video/zM52i-VhjPU/видео.html
If you have Fire OS 7 and storage was added via the Fire TV settings, you will not be able to explore that storage device.

Great Vid! Very clear & detailed. Question: Do you have a video detailing the exact steps to downloading an APK file? Reason for query: when I download from APKMirror, the file appears blank-grey (no images) with a file extension. Is this correct and will it be able to be installed using the methods you describe? Or should the apk file look somehow different? Many thx again...
If you download an APK file onto your computer but don't have any associated programs to open the APK (such as this - ruclips.net/video/iaU0X-eq3Ac/видео.html) then this is correct. It will appear blank-grey. It should still install to your Firestick correctly.

Unfortunately, if your storage is partitioned to PRIVATE, you are no longer able to view the contents. It is inaccessible by any file explorer application. However, if you partitioned as MIXED then you should be able to see the partition that is not allocated to additional system storage.

If & when I want to view any photos/videos/movies which are on my laptop, I just copy it on to a USB pen-drive and connect the pen-drive to TV to view it on TV.

Hi Tanya - greetings from Canada! Could you please do a vid on using the firestick on your PC/Laptop as you would using it on your TV? Can you just plug it into the laptop using the HDMI input or do you need a capture card. Perhaps this is overkill since you can install Kodi on your PC/laptop but i'd like to be able to access other programs on the firestick via the laptop. Is this doable?? Thanks - keep up the GREAT work (enjoyed being part of the live Q & A session yesterday - is it held every Wednesday? If so, is it at the same time - what time does it start EST??) Lots of ???s i know but your just the lady to answer!!!
Generally speaking, HDMI ports on laptops are HDMI-out ports so they do not allow a video feed into the laptop. In addition, the HDMI port on your laptop is connected to the graphics card so there is no hardware to push a video signal from the Firestick to the laptop screen.
You could use a capture card but there are sometimes issues with HDCP for digital copyright protection and this will block the broadcast from the Firestick.

No, this method is more for transferring files.

I don't think there is any version of FileZilla for Chromebook but you can get sFTP Client from the Chrome Web Store, it comes with a one-time $2.99 price tag, and is setup just like FileZilla, so you shouldn’t have any problem figuring out how to use it. I have not personally tried this, this is just info I have found on Google so you might want to take a look at other FTP alternatives for Chromebook. Sorry I can't help much more on this one. I copied a bunch of files using this method and it goes to the firestick internal storage so i run out of space after a while. How can this go to the usb drive i have on the firestick with the ogb? cable that i have/ I have ES File Exployer showing as being installed on the usb 264gb disk so i thought the pictures would go there also. Apparently not. How do i get the pics on the usb and not the firestick?

It seems like your connection might be blocked by your anti-virus software or Firewall. To fix this, you can try disabling your Firewall by following these steps:
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Click on System & Security
3. Select Windows Defender Firewall
4. Choose the option on the left - Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off
5. Turn off Windows Defender Firewall for BOTH Private & Public network settings
Afterward, try your connection again. If the issue persists, you can also try disabling your anti-virus software and try again. Just remember to turn your Firewall back on once you're finished using Filezilla. I hope this helps! 😊👍❤️

GM, Tanya, got Filezilla up n running 2 wks ago , transferred several files great, but today It's not able to connect to server. Input hist, username and port, don't remember creating a password, could I have forgotten? If yes how would I retrieve it? Help please
Try disconnecting the connection, completely remove and delete it. Then start again from the beginning. Does this help? If not, are you are getting a specific error? Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️

Try again and this should fix the error if it is your Firewall Blocking. If it doesn't fix it, then disable your anti-virus software and try again.
Don't forget to turn your Firewall back on after you have finished doing what you need to do with Filezilla.

When using filezilla, dragging and dropping a movie from my pc to FS, can I specify a flash drive on my stick to transfer it to, instead of internal storage of FS ?
Yes, if you can see it using X-plore for example and you have mixed storage on your flash drive and not fully private. Alternatively, you could just plug the flash drive into your PC and move/copy the file? Storage must still be allocated to mixed or pure accessible storage. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️
Can you use ES file explorer to delete some preinstalled Amazon apps ?
As far as I am aware, you cannot delete Amazon pre-installed apps but you may be able to disable them from within the app settings for each app in Manage Installed Applications. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️

In this video, I show how to transfer files from my PC to my Firestick.
To transfer from Firestick to PC, it's exactly the same, you just copy or cut the file and paste it where you want it.
If I don't want to move the files to firestick but want to play videos saved on my pc HD to my firestick ( like streaming) what should I do
You could use VLC player on your Firestick and browse files located on your shared network. Just make sure that the folder on y our PC is discoverable.

Your tutorial was great, but my Firestick 4k Max OS 7.6.2.4 won't connect to FTP, I get the timeout message, using ES File Manager and FileZilla Pro, to connect to Mac Pro Tower, Mac OS 11.7.3. and I have 2TB SSD, Permissions done, developers files downloads enabled, storage enabled, still no FTP connection using Anonymous setup.
Have you double-checked that you haven't made a typing error when inputting your IP address into the "Host" field? Are your Firestick and your PC both connected to the same Wi-Fi or Home network?
No it's not a typo, Yes both devices are connected to the same wifi network.

1) Open FileZilla.
2) Click on ‘Edit’ and select settings.
3) Then click on ‘Connection’. You can see the field ‘Timeout in seconds’, which will extend the duration where FileZilla will try to reconnect if there is any issues with connection. Then click on the ‘Ok’ button.
4) Try to connect to Firestick again.
why is it that I get an error 403 Forbidden when I type in the Web address that you are recommending for FileZilla ???

Some how downloader would not download file xplore. It took me to Amazon page or googlead error. Is there other way to download it?
Type 28907 into Downloader, navigate to the "Tools" category, and select X-Plore from the list. Scroll down to find an aqua-blue "Download" button and install the app.

Try again and this should fix the error if it is your Firewall Blocking. If it doesn't fix it, then disable your anti-virus software and try again.
Don't forget to turn your Firewall back on after you have finished doing what you need to do with Filezilla.

Hi, this sounds like it could be your anti-virus software or Firewall is blocking the connection. Try disabling your Firewall by going to:
Control Panel / System & Security / Windows Defender Firewall / Use option on the left - Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off / Turn off Windows Defender Firewall for BOTH Private & Public network settings.
Try again and this should fix the error if it is your Firewall Blocking. If it doesn't fix it, then disable your anti-virus software and try again.
Don't forget to turn your Firewall back on after you have finished doing what you need to do with Filezilla.

@@ParanoidThalyyMVS As far as I know, you can't view your Firestick on your PC. You can connect your Firestick to your PC and view the files, but if you want to use the Firestick from your PC, this can't be done.
If you have a HDMI port on the back of your PC monitor, you can plug your Firestick into it, you could even use a HDMI splitter in the HDMI port on your PC monitor to plug both your monitor and Firestick in at the same time, then use a button on the splitter box or a remote to switch between the 2 sources. Not sure if this helps?
