Thanks again for this video. As an FYI -- i have a multi-USB connector connected to my Amazon Firestick 4k. I tried mouse toggle and struggled until I plugged in a Windows Mouse into one of the slots on USB connector. This made it much easier to select external storage/USB and it worked very quickly for me

II have the same setup (on a cube) but once I select the SD card and try to move on from there, I still have the no-cursor problem, and can't create my destination folder. I will have to try the post note trick. Must be an easier way!

I read your comment about the usb drive being used. Even if you reformat it, will it still not be able to be used for this procedure? I think that is my problem. I have tried about 8 different usb drives and not one of them can be written to. So if I get a new usb drive and try this, it should work, right?

I used the method to change recording on Tivimate to external USB. The recording stops after 1 minute. Any ideas as to what the problem and what the solution is?
I sure hope you can help me. I have followed this video to the letter. When I click "SD Card" in ADM Mod Lite all I get is a basically blank screen that says "No items." Before I found your video I had tried to use various other ADM Pro versions with the same result. So I uninstalled the ADM Pro and installed the ADM Mod Lite from your Downloader address. Hey Tech. I can't get ADM to recognize my USB to download to usb. When I follow the steps and click on sd card it only shows internal storage. I formatted to download all apps to sd card before trying this. Do think this could be the issue. This work for me before but i had

What about Kodi's User data & addon data (always) going to internal... Will this application fix resolve this issue? Almost every Kodi Data takes up space on firestick 4k. i appreciate your time and effort regarding this important issue
I have kodi running on my 4K firestick and all my data, cache and application all running from my SD. I have 3.6 GB out of 5.34 GB left. The Amazon applications that are specific to amazon cannot be moved to SD. I already tried. I use Total Commander to transfer internal media to SD card. It took me a few days to figure everything out. Big thanks to all TDUK!! Until someone figures out a way to delete all of amazon bloatware we're always going to have limited space. Like the old android phones with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. We had to rely on XDA developers for roms and root ability just so we could use are phones. This reminds me of those times. For those who are subscribers to RUclips TV, RUclips, showtime anytime. You can run those from memory card but you have to uncheck those 3 things that Break Prime Video. They also break Showtime anytime. It took me a few days to figure that out. All is well now. And just like TDUK mentioned not all USB flash cards will work even after formatting to fat32. Sandisk works!! 64GB.

Thanks for the tutorials. Done everything but ADM not able to write to file. Brand new Sandisk 128gb with Fat32 format. Use Syncler or Cinema and click Open with and choosing ADM but about halfway creating the file it puts into finished section with it saying unable to write to file. Not sure what to do.
I would be curious, if you can download to usb, which, I currently do, are there any settings that would allow to download to hard drive that is connected to pc on shared network using ip address? I've tried everything to be able to download or transfer direct to usb on fire stick 4k. No matter what app or what download location I put, the files will always go straight to the fire stick and if it's a video or similar I can then use something like es explorer to move it to the usb. Problem is, most files I want on the usb stick are too large to fit on my fire stick first. Where am I getting it wrong? I just want to be able to transfer files direct to the usb drive without having to first get them on the fire stick. I also have no option to be able to move apps from the fire stick to the usb.

Hmm. I have 4k max w usb attached. The max shows the usb. When it run this program it does not recognize the usb. It is there and I have stuff on it but ADM will not see it.. Any thoughts

@@TechDoctorUK thanks I was able to get support from Amazon and they told me do factory reset and then go to update click it then unplug stick for 10 seconds and that enabled the update to finishing updating. Amazon said that they were having lots of issues with updating
Not working on the 4K Max (at least on mine). ADM doesn't recognize my SanDisk USB drive. I still have to move apps via X-Plore (which does recognize) to the USB drive.

So I have my 64 gb usb, I’ve got all apps either direct downloaded to usb or moved over manually. Have a handful that need updating but when it comes time to “install” app I get a pop up notification that I’m out of storage and need to manage storage or try later etc. any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it? I have seen some mentioning via google search to move app back to internal storage, update, and then have to move back to external storage/usb. This seems like a real PITA any time there is an app update especially considering every app I have is on USB. Any ideas how to correct this or what might be causing it? Thank you!

Can I plug a hard drive in and download films using that clever app both at the same time or is it one or the other.So I can use one for apks and one for films.plus can be played on any device other than firestick??Many thanks
sean sandals I have been able to run apk’s from a partitioned drive on the OTG cable and save/play files from an OEM formatted Sandisk thumb drive plugged into the same multiport adaptor. The source streaming apk can either send via ADM or , rarely (e.g. MediaBox HD), send direct to a path on the data drive.
If your drive is FAT32 format I believe you can use up to a certain limiting size believed to be 300GB regardless of physical storage above this size. The second drive (not the partitioned one) can be used in another device

I installed the OTG cable & 128gb USB drive and it recognizes it, but I don't get the screen @ 5:15. When I click on 'SDCARD', I get a screen with 'Recent' & 'No Items' & 'Modified' and the cursor won't move to anything useful. I can only return to 'Folder For Files' which keeps showing '/storage/emulated/0/ADM' - not SDCARD. I want all movies to download to SDCARD. What is wrong?
I have a third generation FS so I have to use the second method with mouse. You missed the method of how to create new file on the external drive. In your example you had already created the “trailer “ file?
The files were already on the usb drive as I copied them on my Pc
I noticed the same thing. I just unplugged my external storage from Firestick, plugged it into my PC and created a folder from there. Plugged the USB back into Firestck and then changed ADMs download path to that folder.
ADM does not recognize usb with 4k max. Is there a new trick or way to record to usb using 4k max? Thanks

The Firestick will format to use on that particular Firestick.
Hi doc I hope you had a awesome Christmas and New year . I have the 4K Max firestick I have tried moving my apps on to a SanDisk usb flash drive but evey way I have tried the apps don't move over properly if I turn my firestick off and check to see if my apps have stayed on the flash drive or have gone missing because I unmounted it and when I plug it back in and power the firestick up they have gone I end up having to load them in again. Will this way you are showing us in this video will they move properly 🤔

Try as I might, I can not download apps or apks to my flash drive on my 2nd generation Fire Tv Stick. I am able to create a folder but nothing downloads to it. Every thing looks correct but I can not get downloads. I am using a Sandisk 32 gb 3.0 flash drive.

FYI to all those with a Fire TV trying to download to external hard drive connected in the USB. It took me a bit to figure out but this video is the way. Follow the steps using the virtual mouse toggle and you can get it. I can now download from certain apps to the external drive as you can with a firestick.

Can you explain more clearly where I would find those "Applications" I am to set up at 7:30 in the video? Are you talking about the settings menu in Netflix? Kodi? etc.?

When I go in to settings in ADM I click sd card it only picks up the firestick. Does not show my USB. It picks it up in file explorer etc. Do I have to do anything else with USB drive or just plug it in and shut pick it up in ADM.

Is that USB you plugged already being used for installing APPS? if so, you can not use the same one for this process. You need a fresh USB drive formatted as FAT32

TechDoctorUK or if used on the 4k fire TV stick, it needs to be partitioned a 50 50 mix as it when I set mine up like with adb shell as it has the second partition as a usable storage drive like normal.
@@TechDoctorUKThanks for your hard work. This method doesn't work for me but your latest tutorial removing bloatware did. I have 27 apps running from SD and 8 HD movies that I downloaded from cyber flix and transferred to SD using total commandeer. I have those 3 things unchecked in debloater everything else checked. My total internal storage is 3,6 GB left with Kodi, cyber, cinema, RUclips TV, RUclips, smarters pro, showtime anytime, firefox and more running smooth from the SD. No lag or buffering. The only apps running from internal that aren't Amazon are adb remote shell, Total commander and downloader. If Kodi is using up your internal space you must of done something wrong. Limitless, Ghost, The Crew and Tempest all working good with Kodi 19 mod. Isn't taking up any internal storage.

Hi Doc, just wondering what the "Fire tv Player" on the F.S. 4k is all about. Is it safe to delete all data on the app as well as clearing cache in the settings? Just concerned. as I read on AFT news it is the Prime video player. I use prime video so don't want to hit that delete data button without knowing what would happen.

Doesn't work for a FireTV (not stick) running OS6.2xxxx. There's no option to select the usb drive as default. Cursor won't move to "select". Any solution?

With a UGreen multiUSB OTG I connected a spare thumb into a vacant slot and saved a file drom the device storage using Total Commander. I didn’t have rights to creste a folder in Total Commander - still to solve. When short in RAM I found Total Commander less of a memory hog than X-Plore, which froze after mounting the new thumb

After the file is downloaded how do I play the file? I know, this should be the easiest part! I figured that out, had to use the hidden mouse toggle technique and was able to select my play file and use the toggle to select my media player on my 4K stick.

Cube should be the same. Yes, the USB needs to be FAT32. Airmouse wont help, nor will a bluetooth mouse - none of them will show any cursor unfortunately.

Pocket Change Let me know if you get this working on your Cube. I set my external drive folder and ADM shows the titles already in the folder but it sent a 5.5GB file to the ADM folder in internal storage on my Cube.
This can have a drastic effect on performance (when system RAM is below ~500MB). I found it was too big for Total Commander to zip and too big to move to external storage. Only about 4 GB would copy. Had to delete this test file.
@@ade531001gmail Thanks Adrian, the limiting factor as I see it is the fact that Android TV operating systems will only allow transfer of files under 4 gig as in the case that the usb must be formatted as Fat32 or exfat, basically the same thing. The only way that I have gotten around this is to use a teue android box or tablet. I download a 8.3 test file on my Samsung android tablet and used a usb formatted to NTFS and the transfer was a success, so the issue is with the android tv operating system not recognizing and allowing files larger than 4 gig to be transferred to a NTFS usb, I will continue to work on this as well,
Is there an OTG cable that is beefy enough to work with 1gb Internet? I find that after following all these terrific ideas to add storage...it’s negated because the infrastructure we are setting up is not powerful enough for speeds require in my setup at home...it’s too bad we can’t get manufacturing (or Amazon) to give an assist here

I've been trying to do this with my FireCube and it can't seem to recognize my usb even though my device notices it. Am I doing something wrong?
Changing the download folder by pushing "sd card" is greyed out. No good boss here on 4k firestick.

When I run File Commander I can actually see my USB attached!
When I run ADB remotely on my computer it shows my Firestick is connected to the same IP address used on the Firestick. I am at a total loss at how to fix this.

Hi! Anyone could please tell me if theres any way to download video files on a Fire Stick 4K using SILK Browser (or any other app) and SELECT where to save them? Theres a tv series site that lets you donwload the files from MEGA and GOOGLE DRIVE, but SILK doesnt let me download the files, only play them! Terrible! Any workaround, please?

You can save downloads to your USB drive on your 2nd gen stick .You can't move your apps to it. On the 2nd gen devices, apps can only be run from internal storage
