What about settings? Any way to clone settings?
I always look forward to the notifications of your vids. Thank you for all you do.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for a clear and concise turorial
Perfect solution.
I needed to install a version of TiViMate on my son's FireStick and I had deleted the APK from my FireStick and couldn'r find the specific link to the modded version I was using and this allowed me to copy the app from the apps folder and save it to my USB drive that I could them take to his FireStick and install it from there.
Excellent work as always Tech Docktor UK.
great feedback !
I'm always learning with you. Good job.
I appreciate that!
I have been looking for something just like this, having trouble executing all the steps. You are the best.
Is there a way to clone the entire content from one stick to another? The title here says: "clone" but the video only shows how to transfer a few apps. I want to actually copy one stick to another (like cloning a hard drive).
Thank you sooo much for this tutorial!!! It’s a game changer for me helping my family out with their Firesticks.
absolute genius please keep it coming
This video is excellent and well explained! Just what I needed.
Just fyi, I actually wanted to transfer apps from my firestick to my Google TV I just bought. I knew the process was possible because both Google TV and Amazon Firestick use Android/APK files. But didn't know how to transfer. So this video worked for that too. So, to anyone out there, you can transfer from the Firestick to Google TV (and vice versa) using this method. Thanks very much!
worked first time , great, simple to follow, Brilliant . thanks
What's up Doc!
Great content, and I'm reading the comments you can't copy the settings. Is there anything new to transfer apps and settings?
I have a lot of emulators and games using arc and will be tough to reconfigure everything.
Thanks in advance. Keep the great work!
This is as May 2020. I am finding it a nightmare to try and find this and the download button and other items on your website. It is so cluttered. Great content though!
Great job my friend
Man thank you so much, you saved me. Amazon just took down the file linked today and I just got a brand new fire tv, well I managed to clone my old 4k fire stick onto the new tv this way, it saved me so much hassle
Followed your instructions and I am truly amazed,,Thank You
Thanks for starting off about the other guys video I checked that and had the file to clone over so was done in a few minutes cos I wanted the old kodi
You videos are great. I’m trying to clone a fire stick. I have followed step by step. I get stuck with the computer part. It’s asking what app to use to open….. or it just won’t show the folders… I’m not sure what I’m missing
Fantastic tutorial! Well timed and clear to follow. Well done again!
This is great, 1 question. If you connect a new stick, you said you only install the mio. But to do that you also need to download: downloader. Is this correct?
I've just got this app after watching this and I've been using it to the best of my knowledge which isn't much so I was wondering if possible you could do a more in depths video on this app for numptys like me?
Cheer.
Once We Copied All The Apps Over, Do They Keep The Settings. ie. The Original User Name And Password ? as I've Forgotten Some Of Them. The Goal Is To Copy my Living Room Fire Sick to A New One For The Bedroom. Thanks
👍👌🇨🇦❤, now this is what I have been waiting for, rather than sequential install, this is really nice, many than TDUK
Glad you like it!
Thank you. that's a lot easier and quicker than the way i was doing it
I use ADBlink you can extract APKs set up new sticks and install all apps and even restore Kodi custom settings really quickly. Surprised you've not done a video on this.
Is there video on the ADBlink for cloning firesticks now
Some bits were a bit hard to follow but managed it. Now have a working system in both rooms. Thanks for your time and effort into doing this video.
Would be easier to use to external usb process to transfer all the apps/ files from one firestick to another firestick!!!!
Looks awesome I'll try it soon as I get my other fire stick'
💪👊👊👊 Great Review Thanks Techdoctoruk
Thanks for watching!
This was awesome. Thanks
Great Video! Makes it so easy to move files from and to Firestick
Great video if you hold the mouse button on the right side of a Colum of apps it tags the the row ...thx
You are the man.... Great video..... 🇺🇸👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
THX for the help!
What if you haven't got any space to copy the apk's to a new folder on your firestick ?
Hello great video just ordered new firestick 16gb will need to clone old fire stick but cannot find mixplore download in your tutorial section please advise Cheers SB
We love you in NYC Doc this is awesome. Thank u Stay handsome
Same in upstate

Is that you, B? My Brooklyn Bro? Hiya from Marc 😋
@@marcjoondeph7779 You know we love you in NYC bud. Stay handsome!
Thanks so much TDUK for all your wonderful content and massive value I need some help getting app installed on the regular 4k firestick
Great video can you use this on the new fire stick max I just found this, however I got completely lost because it was so fast I'm assuming you put the file transfer on the PCI don't know and then you transferred everything to the PC and then from the PC back to the fire stick I'm trying to find your private chat room I need to talk to you about the BBC I player I can't seem to get any help
you can do this with adblink directly from your laptop
Great video mate 👍👍
Been looking to do this for a while
🗣️ Go TDUK 😎
No problem 👍
Wow, great info.thank you
Question. My fire sticks are plugged into different tvs. Can you still do the process that way or do they have to be connected to the computer?
Awesome and brilliant content as always Doc!!
Glad you enjoy it!
This is not cloning a firestick. You are just copying apps and installing them from your PC to another firestick. You still have to manually configure any settings you may have in the apps. There is a much easier way to copy and install using ADB.
Do you have a video of your way using ADB?
@@rehabr02 No, I do not. Sorry.
Hi mate thanks this is very useful Erm a few questions
One say like I have subscription apps but don't have the sign up stuff can this copy all that
Questions 2 is it save to deleted the preinstalled apps from the fire stick I can't find an answer
And 3 Erm you ever used extreame copy it can move lots of files quickly and very safely too if it has a problem it will say I use it all the time and copy large files in seconds.
Thanks
Game changer, thanks brother...
Is it possible to copy the apps to a flash drive and then download those to another fire stick?
Great video. What do you do when you try to copy to new firestick from PC you get message acess denied to FTP server
Will this work with different versions of fire sticks? older and newer versions of FS.
I am trying to get the app to work with the 4k stick.
Great job Professor Tduk keep up the EXCELLENT job as always
Many thanks!
Awesome great tutorial..is their a way to lock ur files so nobody can copy ur VPN or apps/ accounts
Hello TechDoctorUk, does the application have the same configuration as like as the old firestick or is a completely new installation? For example, i have some addons in my kodi installed. Are this addons there when i do this process? Thank you for your video.
That's awesome brother TDUK. That will help out a lot. Thanks for sharing. Keep the incredible content coming. Hope you have an awesome night. Much love
Most welcome Tim 👍
Very informative presentation! Has there been any update on backups in the last year since this was published? You have CLONE in the title however this procedure just copies the APK. Cloning consists of capturing all the settings for all the apps and login info that are on the fire stick. this is what we really need to have some developers create for true cloning! Maybe a program to image the fire stick like what can be done with a hard disk.
What was the website but. ly that's all I could understand
Yes it's misleading you can't clone it, he's not showing you how to copy and paste basically.
What are all the best to install onto your firestick for reselling and how could i install them? Response would be so appreciated, im a beginner
A nice one TDUK.👍👍👍🍺🍺😷
Thank you! Cheers!
How do you de-select an app you have selected to copy in error? Also when selecting an app it sometimes selects several nearby apps which I have not selected?
I have the same problem and don't know why that is. Would be appreciated if somebody could answer it.
Awesome ! big thumbs up for the tips
Great work TD. The best as always. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much 😀
That is a real time saver!
Thanks. I found it a lot faster and easier to connect Firestick to pc via USB then use an *adb install script* for every apk in the adb folder. Then if an app updates then I can *adb shell* to extract the new apk. You're awesome techdoctor
Appreciate your insight👍
Nice to know this works. Thanks for sharing. I was going to try this and was told if powersupply from my computer was insufficient it could do bad things and just didnt try it because i didnt want to lose my data.
Charles can you share your process??
@@ogkttv9791 download tduk's scrcpy (adb) files to a folder on your PC, put all your apks in the same folder, connect FS to PC via USB, enable adb debugging on FS, open CMD in adb (folder) directory on PC, in CMD type "adb devices" which will start the connection to Firestick, accept the connection on FS, in CMD type "adb install (appname).apk", do this for each apk to install.
I'll make a video to show the script which auto installs the apks one by one.
@@CPhillips903 tduk's scrcpy(and) files???
Awesome video TDUK !!!
Hey doc great tutorial 👍 just wondering will this work for the updated 4k firestick with the new ui? Thanks
Thanks M8. Cheers 🙏🏼
Thank you very much..
You always seem to be just a video ahead of me in my mind!! I have 3 Firesticks to do tonight and normally I would use my multiviewer and alternate between them. This will save so much more time 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👊🏾👊🏾🍻💪🏾💯
Glad to help
Could you possibly use ES Explorer for the ftp server connection? Trying to think of a way to initiate the transfer process without having to go to your site first. Be able to utilize an app already on the FS.
Thank you so much!
Hi I am attempting to clone my firestick and have followed your method successfully up to the PC part do I have to plug my firestick into my PC???
You can do this three Amazon to do this
Amazing. Thank you.
As far an External drive (Flash Drive) set up on a Firestick Is there a way to do this with the 3rd Party Apps on one's External?
Also, do you know of a way that one can copy 3rd Party the files from one External to another, and have it working on another Firestick?
I don't think this should be called "cloning" because it's not. Cloning should find a way to move the application folder, including the configurations, and just move them over so that when I open the clone, I don't have to install anything. I find the apps already installed, with all the configs, so I just open and stream.
This is so useful!!
This video has so much more weight. Now that filelinked is gone . I'm lucky I saved all my apks. Thank you sir
Trying to use this method again. But this time I keep getting an error code when I try to connect to PC using FTP server ?? Any ideas how to remedy this ?
Question. How do you get it from the pc to the firestick??? I plugged my firestick in and nothing happened
Another great video.👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I know this was posted a few years ago, but I cannot this in your tutorial section, has it been moved
Hi, I'm new to this, anyway I've just tryed to set this up, install worked on clean stick but would not install on loaded stick. How do I over come this drawback?
Nice one 💯💯 thank you
No problem 👍
Thanks the Shared Server feature is an awesome feature. However, this really isn't a clone technique since you still have to configure WiFi, install the programs as well as arrange them on the menu and configure each. All this does is save the hastle of remembering which files to download and then download them.
So Ken... thank you for this question as I came to this site hoping to completely replicate the content of my one jail-broken Firestick onto a brand new one. And I'm gathering for your reply here that this is not that. So, working with limited computer expertise as I am, are you saying I still have a mountain to climb even with this posted info?
@@andrejackson8249 I haven't researched this beyond this video, but yes this video is not about how to clone or image a Fire Stick.
Would be easier to use to external usb process to transfer all the apps/ files from one firestick to another firestick using the x-plore app!!!!
Superb 🤜🤛
Does it clone the passwords and all, or just the apps?
I'm looking to backup my second slow gen FTV stick to a 4k version but only if i can transfer passwords and save cache data as well, example i no longer have xfinity cable yet 2 years later my fire tv stick gets to login to public wifi which i use at work on a wall projector. Since this is my only device that has all my stuff the way i like it, it also has free wifi lol! So anyway does your method back up passwords as well?
which is the context key on the firestick remote?
Thxz great job like Always
No problem 👍
Hi
Does this copy all account passwords as well.
For example I have Stan, Disney, ect and I don’t won’t to have to login to each firestick everytime.
Also if I want to make a few sticks for my friends and family you can only have so many users on one account.
Thanks
Yea but... what about the Addons from Kodi, like Elementum? Is there no way to just copy what you have and transfer it AS IS? Without having to find all the seperate addons again? Do I have to re-do ALL the settings again and Interface changes on every Firestick I want to copy to?
This isn't cloning a Firestick! Cloning is copying apps and all system settings so that the new Firestick when plugged in works the same as the original.
Can you do it without a PC, like a usb drive
When u clone firestick do u just get the apps and all the I'm formation on the app meaning login deatails
I need to know this also. Just deleted an app I shouldn't have.
And I need the log in from the deleted app
That's what I want to know as well
I would like to know the answer to this too.
Very good
Clone or backup? there is a difference
Exactly, I already have all the apps I need. I need the DATA from those apps cloned so the user doesn't have to go through the whole login process again
I have a similar system in place that I have used for the past three (going on 4) years. I am not sure if it would work on Amazon Fire devices but it works for my Nvidia Shields. Most routers today have a USB connection that can be used for a printer or network storage. I have a thumb drive installed in it. I use the Shield's network mount option and just leave the storage from the router permanently shared between two Shields. My PCs also have access to that storage too. I can either download apks directly to that shared network storage on the router or extract apks from one Shield to that shared storage. I used ES file explorer for moving files, but you can use any file explorer apk that supports network storage. I only lament that I can only move the apks and not the data storage associated with the app. I wish I knew a way to do it so I wouldn't have to re-enter passwords again and again after installing the apks. For example, it would be nice if my Real Debrid credentials would carry over from one shield to the next. Unfortunately, I have to authenticate each Shield with the PC. But anyway, the network share mounting option on the Shield is really cool. I bet there might be a command line (adb) equivalent for the Amazon FireTV devices. If there is, it would be a simple set and forget as long as the mounted connection remains active.
When back up an apk.. will it back up the configured settings? For example.. if make Cyberflix use MX Player. Will that back when installed on another device have the configuration already set to MX Player??
I've been looking for an app that would make it easier to program fire sticks and Android boxes.
Thanks for all your videos they are very helpful. I've been trying to clone a Fire Stick and i followed your instructions but for some reason when i try to copy and paste the selected APKs onto the other fire Stick it won't allow me to.
I've tried it using a Macbook Pro and an HP. What do you think I'm doing wrong? I bring the copied apks over but it just won't paste.
I'm having the same problem on MacBook Pro. Got them all in a folder on the desktop but they won't stay in the second Firestick when I copy and paste or drag and drop. I can't figure out what is wrong.
@@rehabr02 it's a mystery. Lol
Simply awesome
Too kind 👍
Lost me when you switched to PC---how is it done on a Firestick?
So, on your firestick, when you click on "Start FTP Server" (approx 7.10 in video), it gives you a FTP address (FTP://192.168.0.94:2121 - yours will be different but format will be the same)
This essentially makes the files/apps on your firestick available to view on any computer.
So now, all you need to do is go to your laptop/pc and open up something like the documents folder on your computer (any folder will do as long as you see the address bar). And in the address bar, just type in your FTP address (FTP://192.168.0.94:2121 - not this one but the one you see) as what is shown on your firestick. This then loads all the files from your firestick onto your computer. (You do not need to physically connect your firestick to your laptop/pc.) This allows you to transfer files/apps to your computer and vice versa - by copying and pasting as you would normally do to move files and folders on a pc.
Hope that helps a bit
I have a question. I just purchased a tv with is a firetv so how can I transfer my apps from my firstick to my tv?
