I bought my SXT in 2021. I wanted the all wheel drive, but the dealership couldn't find one at that time. I drove mine through out the winter with snow tires and 250 lbs over the rear axle, I didn't have a problem. Then again, when I learned to drive back in the 80's, most cars were rear wheel drive. It is my daily driver and always puts a big smile on my face. Thanks for the update! Cheers!
Thank you for giving some love to the V6 Challengers. I just bought a 2023 GT Plus only in RWD. I am retired and the Challenger has been my dream car for years. All my life I have owned 4WD pickups or SUVs, huge vehicles. I decided to trade in my Jeep for my dream car while I am still young enough to enjoy it. When I was younger I would probably want the V8, but I am not young anymore so the V6 is just fine for me. I do not think the car feels to big either. The biggest change in driving it was not sitting as high as you would be in a suv or pickup. And I am also happy with my MPG and only using 87 octane. Here in Washington state 89 octane is like .50 to .60 cents higher in price per gallon and 91 octane is around $1.00 more.
My 2019 SXT hasn’t had any issues as of yet. I get the same mileage you’re getting as well which is great. It’s a great car with enough power to move where and when you need to and it’s great on gas.
Thanks for excellent review. Considering trading my 2015 Camry LE for a Challenger base model. Your review of this SXT Plus AWD w/ the standard V6 has me thinking. I was lucky to get a 70 Pontiac GTO conv in 1979 as my first car using money I earned bussing tables at local golf club and side work in Rochester NY area but the rear wheel drive made it a nightmare to drive in the snow so I sold it.. I agree 100% with your opinion on Challenger's value, performance, and so on. I owned a 73 Challenger w/ a 318cu/Slapstick Auto in 1982 after an accident with the 1976 Datsun B210 hatchback I took to college got totalled. The other driver's insurer gave $2400 that I used to buy the 73 Challenger, Lime Green, factory Dodge rims, stripes, white vinyl interior, white vinyl roof, lastly No A/C, with a prior owner's Florida registration. LOL After owning your 2021 "AWD" Challenger do you think us in snow belt should pay the difference for an AWD model vs a standard rear-wheel drive and/or did you get a chance to drive your Challenger on snow/ice or what type tires. I would get a kick out of getting same car you bought, put snow tires on it in the winter and drive it year round. Thank you for sharing your Challenger owning experience with the rest of us dreaming of swapping our Toyotas and Hondas for a modern classic car for a modern redo from Chrylsers/Ford/GM on a rear-wheel drive platform.
What an awesome comment - thanks for sharing your amazing car journey!! As far as snow, yes! This car is incredibly effective in the winter. It’s kind of strange to make a trip to a ski resort and see a challenger parked there in the snow - but I’ve seen it! And done it! It’s the car where you get to have both worlds - the classic retro muscle look but also the year round enjoyment!
I bought my second Challenger GT AWD last month. Went from a 2018 to a 2021. ONLY because factory warranty expired at 60k. Never had any issues with the 2018. Absolutely love the car. It is big.....and comfortable. Bottom line - it's a highly capable AWD vehicle that gets 27-28 MPG. I don't have to pick up front or rear end of my car if it went in the ditch because it helps me STAY OUT of the ditch. Cautionary note - research replacement tires carefully. My 2018 had Michelins from factory which were great, bought similarly rated Sumitomos and they were crap, so went back to Michelins. Also, I'd rather not pay RT or Hellcat premiums for insurance. I'd seriously consider a HEMI in AWD, but it's not there in Challenger. Plus the hit to gas mileage (and the higher insurance premiums) aren't worth it
Spot on! Great insights on ownership - Thanks for the heads up on tires! Agree totally that the value and AWD performance really make this version of the challenger a great one to own.
Thanks for the update. I just bought a low mileage sxt p!us. I've driven mostly small cars and just sold my corvette and new camaro. Love my challenger, get a lot of thumbs up and the v6 is plenty fast for what I need. I got 2wd so I can have a little fun with it. Took a little getting used to the size and not driving over curbs but it is a big comfortable cruiser and my favorite of the muscle cars I've had.
On mine it is the passenger side door window does not align with the door groove when you roll down the window and and then close the door and that freaking BLIND SPOT... Other than that....CAI, Throttle Body, Throttle response kit, Solo Exhaust, Chipped out and Hurst pistol grip. Black Cherry.
Your SXT is exactly what I want...color..napa seats..all that. I guess u have the Alpine system too. Cannot find one in my area though. North Mississippi.. But eyeing an old '11 SRT....You have a beautiful car....i wouldn't ever give it up no matter what gas costs.
Back seats will fold to open into trunk area for oversized object. Not sure about headrests - although I don’t think they come off easily but could be wrong. Haven’t found them a problem for visibility. . . Definitely nice to be able to fill up on the least expensive gas
I am getting an average of about 23 mpg in my 2014 challenger sxt. Gas prices are still not fun, but hey, guess who can get away with filling up with 85!
Congrats!!!! It’s a great product - Paint Protection Film - basically a durable, self healing film applied to your paint. Like a phone screen protector for your car. If interested we recommend doing it right away on a new car before any rock chips Etc. The only problem is it’s not cheap. Take a look at it if you’re planning to keep the car. 🔥
No offense but I think you're being a bit picky - we're talking dodge here, not maybach. Some vibrations cannot be ruled out because these cars are made of plastic in many places and plastic is not known for being sturdy/not noisy. Even old cars, that still have metal/aluminium inside have rattled around. Poor steering wheel alignment can also occur from transport to the dealer - driving too fast over curbs/obstacles is enough. And one more thing - you americans complain about gas prices, you should come to europe - i pay 150€ (164$) for a full tank in germany for my scatpack - and according to the internet your average salary is higher than ours. You guys pay roughly 1€ per liter - while we pay nearly 2€ per liter. Especially since you also wage non-stop wars so that your oil reserves are secured.
@@GuysTalkingCars yes you are blinded by your politics and your media - everyone in europe sees american politics as selfish and bellicose - since 1776 you have been at war for 227 years (in which you have been active, take a look at wikipedia) - i.e. 247 years since your country existed you have been 227 at war - this is ridiculous and sad, shame on you. don't tell me you're not war mongers

Excellent review. Gave me some real clarity as to the quality of this Challenger purchase. Really fair comments as to pros and cons.
Thank you 🙏🏻

Many thanks for the shout-out it really adds something to my willingness for buying this car.
Absolutely!
Great review! That’s true that most people don’t know the difference in the trims. I had some many people think my challenger RT was a hellcat lol
Exactly!! All these trims look great!
I have a 2021 Challenger GT Plus and love my V6

That's a beautiful ride! Enjoy that!!! Congrats!
I got my 2023 sxt plus, and you are right. the steering wheel isn't perfectly straight. my is leaning to the left.
Yeah lame - get an alignment and it will fix it. So weird
The V6 is the perfect daily you get a nice kick of speed, comfort and decent mileage.

Great review. I was impressed when we took a spin in it. Exhaust sounded great as well. Smart
Move keeping miles off the scat
Thank you sir!
I can't believe you have had that for a year. I remember the delivery day video.
I know - my thoughts exactly. I can’t believe it’s been that long.
Great review Bro!! Didn’t know that was an all wheel drive. Come to flavor country (Utah) and rip it up in the snow!!
Yes sir !
Can you remove the back headrests for better rear visibility? Or just but the back seats down? It's also nice that it runs on regular unleaded gas.

Check out our road trip video and you'll see what I am getting. Keep in mind it's an AWD: ruclips.net/video/iGDT-xeBlJg/видео.html
303 horsepower not bad at all that type of mileage
Agreed! Not a bad package for the money
Nice real world review...
Thank you 🙏🏻
I just got a 2023 rt in this color
Congrats!!! Great choice! Love the RT!!
How good is the air conditioner at cooling the car?
Top notch. Works great - the cooling seats work great too - better than the ones in my GMC.
