That poor captain on flight 5390. What a horrible thing to go through. He definitely had some divine intervention and inner strength to make it through that. Bravo to the stewards that kept him in the plane and bravo to his young copilot for saving the day. 👏👏
I can only imagine that burning to death is the most terrifying, horrific, painful and traumatizing experience. My heart goes out to the perished and their families. May their souls rest In peace. 🙏🕊️

Atchison a fantastic pilot!! Kudos also to the stewards hanging on to the pilot. The engineer, on the other hand, knows just enough to be dangerous! Hope I never get a mechanic like that working on my truck.
Very good documentary. Very tragic. The over exaggerated Southern accents were over the top. But, it was a good recount of what happened

Pilot has a Near Death Experience and returns to Aviation? I would not have returned.

The wings of the aircraft should have the same foam the fire dept uses and dowse the wings upon crashing. and the power immediately disengage after crashing.
Maybe change the title. "...That Nearly Lost Innocent Lives." That gives the impression that no innocent people died. This was a tragedy.

Quite possibly the weirdest Airline video ever. The only thing holding that pilot in the airplane were the very controls which were sending it plummeting to earth.

They should have charged the engineer with attempted manslaughter. Not following procedure is reckless endangerment.
