for the price of the RCF, and being able to keep up with the M4 on a straight, its worth it

Nalo Reaals value is great on JDM cars mostly Toyota, Honda, Lexus and Subaru’s. American cars lose value and German cars lose value like crazy.

It's surprising how the m4 wiped the floor of the Lexus in a drag race in top gear . But in fifth gear , it's the complete opposite .

I would choose the lexus rcf any day of the week. The bmw can have a faster acceleration but the rcf has a higher top speed. Lexus has the best customer service, more reliable, and easy to understand

Actually the Lexus has 168 mph top speed the m4 is limited to 155 it can easily do 190. Also the lexus understeers horribly I mean it understeers soooo much its a joke.
I’ve had an m3 for 4 years. Totally and utterly reliable and I smile whilst I drive.....x.

Most times it does,agreed,but not always. 8 of the fastest top 10 cars around the Nurburgring are rear wheel drive. FWD are the fastest at.....well,nothing. Less grip in the dry,wet whatever.

Shawn Moses Nor will i. My weekender is over 700hp with over 1000nm and its a handful even with 285 Kuhmo PS91 tyres. I would take a GTR over it anytime.
Downhill start of the drag race slightly favors the Lexus' lack of torque compared to the Beemer's. When the RCF gets to the higher rpms it's nearly as quick as the M4. Dry race on a flat track and the M4 would win easily.
On north american market mostly there are M4/3 with C63 Amg as second, Rcf is very rare sight.
With 400lbs more, it's not sports car.
The Lexus is the real world better car and much more reliable. The M4 has the edge only if you are a 10/10th driver and once it gets past warranty, you will get to know your service manager on a first name basis LOL.

How can I work at a BMW Technical Centre
I'm going to do a review of both cars. I bought the RCF for my girlfriend (but I drive it as much as she does) and I daily drive the M4 Convertible. I will tell you this. The reviews where the BMW M4 crushes the RCF are BMW propaganda and it's not true. Both cars have their pro's and cons but the M4 is a better "sports car" while the RCF is a better "grand touring" vehicle. The RCF is smoother at 160mph than the M4 at 110mph no lie. I also find the RCF much more comfortable than the M4 but the technology sucks on it. The M4 has a better infotainment system and better technology. The RCF sounds much better and has a better interior in my opinion. Pick your poison both are excellent cars but I slightly prefer the M4 for personal reasons but it is in no way "better" than the RCF just different. In terms of looks I love them both but I love the Austin Yellow on my M4 it's amazing. Handling? The RCF beats the m4 convertible but the m4 coupe is definitely the better handler. I drove the coupe before I bought the vert but I preferred the vert since I live in Miami. I just sold my Lotus Evora S (might get the Evora 400 as a weekend car when it comes out in the USA) and it crushes both cars in handling so handling doesn't impress me with either car.

@@StarK12trd When you have Lexus and BMW in the same sentence, is that really a question that needs asking? Lexus will of course beat BMW in terms of reliability and pricing of maintenance.
I own a RC F and Q50S and I tried a 438i m package for 2 weeks and the infotainment on both bmw and lexus sucks. The infiniti is way better even if it's not that great. It is touch and there's the knob so at least to enter an address in the GPS with touch screen and it's fast. The Lexus and BMW takes forever. I only had the RC F for 2 weeks, but I haven't figured out how to change radio channels. It goes from FM to XM to AM from the steering wheel and I haven't found why yet.
The RC F is a fucking blast to drive though! :)

Great cars. Both of them. My only criticism of Bimmers is that sometimes they're over engineered.
It all depends... do you want something reliable or not? If I'm paying that much money for a car, I want something that will last a while for sure... BMWs are great but problems will appear after 3 years (turbo engines).

I've owned a 2007 bmw 3 series and it's been nothing but headaches after 90k miles. Resale value is crap. Parts are expensive. Heard Lexus IS a bit better and doesn't break down as much, trying this Lexus soon.

I've owned four Lexus's and four bmw's. I can definitely tell you BMW are crap reliability. But the styling of BMW is on point. Also noted that the M4 can add 100hp for a $800 tune vs. thousands to take the RC-F to gain 100more HP

One thing that I can't understand. When you make such a "vs" ... why always forgetting the diverse and numerous reliability charts out there ?
Because, a BMW can be faster and more sexy looking, but he also can be a pain in the @ to maintain properly. In fact, BMW is one of the most unreliable car brands on earth, depending on the source, this scores may vary, but BMW is always in the rear field. At the other hand, the Lexus are literally occupying the first rows of reliability charts since several years. This is a HUGE point for them.

for everyday driving, it has to be naturally aspirated V8....no turbos, no superchargers.....also too complicated and expensive to maintain or even setup LOL and the v8 sounds better anyway

By far the worst 'drag race' between these two cars online. The RCF isn't close to matching the M4 in any other comparisons. The third race didn't even look legitimate.

The Lexus has the advantage on damp tracks. Look at the BMW's wet handling times. However, the BMW has more enjoyable driving dynamics.

It takes that long to setup and do launch control! Why not get a proper manual transmission, all you have to do is match the revs and release clutch. I bet the manual M4 will beat the auto M4 at a set of traffic lights. Plus the manual should be far more fun to drive than auto

BmW All the way. Nothing that a slight software tweek couldn't fix. But the design is getting a bit tiring on the eyes and that color is terrible.
An NA car will always be more reliable than a blown or charged vehicle, plain and simple. And, turbo vehicles get driven harder to extract the performance out of them which equals worse mpg, not better. It's only better when driving on a Sunday stroll type of pace. Whereas, an NA motor will do well at most speeds. And, when a turbocharged vehicle has been driven moderately to heavily hard, it needs to idle for 5 minutes to cool down so the turbos last and dont bake the oil into carbon and the turbos go bad after 40k-50k miles.

Lexus is a much more reliable brand in terms of dependability, durability, and quality. You will see 100 BWM's on the side of a road until you ever see a Lexus. In addition, repairs and parts are much less expensive than German engineering. Lexus has been the best Luxury brand for the last five years consecutively including 2016 as stated by KBB. Disappointed in Tiff here. He knows just as well as I do that slamming your foot down in launch control puts it in burnout mode. You have to press it down more slowly for launch. Whoever that BMW guy was, if there even was one on the phone, needs to be trained.

Anyways, Karun Chandhok did not launch the Bimmer correctly. Rev it at 2500 rpm, and it will launch with hardly any wheel spin.

This isn't a comparison. Just write top gear lexus rcf vs bmw m4. You will see an actual drag race. The M4 is years better. Its much faster in a straight line a lot i mean 10x faster on track way more fun to drive, doesn't understeer like a pig like the lexus does and isnt fat.
I alway believe that people should own two Bmws at the same time that way when one breaks down you bring it to the mechanic shop and drive the other one and keep rotating them sort of like how you rotate your tires!!
