      Goes to show it’s capability despite its handicaps. Everyone gets too caught up in numbers. Don’t be fooled by the brochure. It’s how you set up a car that defines how the car is going to perform. And the more you familiarize yourself with the platform. Master those two and the results of that combination are going to be superb.

    • @_SKDK_
      @_SKDK_ Год назад +13

      That might have more to do with weight in the car and steering feel. A lot of luxury cars give you less feedback. Great for commutes.

    • @_SKDK_
      @_SKDK_ Год назад +5

      @@2ZZGE100 correct, the RCF is a luxury car. It would have a lot less force feedback in the wheel than something like a supra or more sport oriented import.
      Aston Martin's are like that as well. The steering weight makes it not jiggle in your hands as much.
      If you watch track built cars, even at pro levels far above both of these drivers, their wheels shake a TON in comparison. But those vehicles are purpose built so they don't care about the creature comforts.
      (not saying they both aren't good drivers)

    • @2ZZGE100
      @2ZZGE100 Год назад +4

      @@_SKDK_ It also speaks to RCF being more glued down to the pavement in the turns requiring less corrections and that additional mass is near the bottom below the CoG. I own an RCF myself (a carbon fiber/TVD performance edition). I track it once in a while, but nothing like David who does regular track time attacks. The luxury, rear seats and the high-revving V8The steering is tuned a lot heavier and direct in SPORT+ mode. A lot different than my other car, which is an IS350 F-Sport. The steering loads very nicely in the fast turns and gives plenty of feedback for an electrically assisted. It can get twitchy at times when trying to carry a lot of speed where I balance it on throttle with very small steering inputs, but I am on completely stock suspension and PS4S street tires.

    • @dyansens
      @dyansens Год назад +1

      Yes it was OEM until the ac compressor clutch went out, making the pulley wobbled, and sheared off the belt. My good friend Brian went on a rescue mission going distances all the way to Blythe’s autozone (nearest from Chuckwalla Valley Raceway) hoping that the belt would stay in place but ended up getting sheared again obviously.

    • @andydufresne8034
      @andydufresne8034 Год назад +1

      @@dyansens So the aftermarket belt couldn't take a fraction of the abuse the Lexus belt has taken for how many miles? I have a minor obsession with Lexus sturdiness and a weird dream of leaving instructions in my will on how to sell my Toyota collection as unmodified, dealer-maintained, and lovingly owned. My whole life revolves around getting a new RC-F before they are discontinued, and restoring my old Solara Sport to also keep forever and park next to it. I've heard that my 07 Solara was designed as a Lexus and given to Toyota at the last minute before production. It looks like that generation ES and nothing like the Camry, and certainly feels like a Lexus to me. Thanks for responding.

    • @dyansens
      @dyansens Год назад +1

      @@andydufresne8034 I meant it doesn’t matter oem or aftermarket, they will be sheared off no matter what since the ac compressor pulley is wobbling hard especially on idle speed (low rpm). I ended up replacing the pulley, belt, and new ac compressor unit which costed quite alot.

    The thrilling, unique roar of the NA V8, stylish looks, comfort, and luxury features of the RC F make it a standout choice for those looking for an unforgettable driving experience.
