It (barely) beat a Mercedes-Benz SL, a grand touring car that although more expensive is mostly driven to the country club by older gentleman in South Florida. And the M4 (when it was an M3) wasn’t even close to GTR performance when it came out and has now surpassed it stock for stock. So if you look at it in terms of the GTR has basically gone from being an 11.5 car in 2008 when it was released to it being an 11.2 car 15 years later(!) it’s not much to brag about, especially when the other 2 cars during that time have chopped almost 2 full seconds off their performance
The m4 in reality makes 570hp at the crank according to numerous dynos out there. BmW has to lie and cheat to be competitive. Fair an square if the m4 did make 503hp it would be nowhere near that GTR an SL. GTR also is a 11.0s car 0-60 of 2.8s an german magazine tested on the autobahn an hit an astonishing 203mph. The benz is definitely superior to the M4 if the bmw had its true 503hp claim. Even a amg gts 503hp would take the M4 all day if the bmw only had 503hp like they state.

3 different cars for 3 different kinds of buyers. I must say, the Nissan GTR R35 is a respectable platform. It still competes with modern cars. Hopefully the upcoming GTR ( if it's still coming) is going to continue shaking the supercar world like this car did 16 years ago.

@tusharaggarwal9115 I agree with you on many parts. But the sl is not considered to be the replacement of AMG GT Coupes. Mercedes is working on the successor to AMG GT. The new SL replace three models (S63 cabriolet, old SL63 and GT Roadster family) Thus it needs to combine the three of them. As an amg fan I'm also disappointed with most of the latest electrified products. But in my opinion it is at least slightly better than the BMW M, Audi Rs, Porsche Turbo PHEV/EVs. I wouldn't buy either of them though.

its the AWD system, amg botched it, was supposed to be lighter than last gen and its 300 lbs heavier with a lot less torque.. my 2018 was faster on the open highway than the new gen

The GTR maybe didnt have the right fuel to make its full advertised numbers 565hp. Again show me a stock GTR makes more than its advertised 565hp in base trim. Once you do i shall send you the link to many videos where the m4 makes 570hp crank. The M4 will never achieve what the GTR has done. On track the m4 would get destroyed, on the nurbrugring m4 csl is the fastest bmw ever, and doesnt come close to the gtr let alone the nismo. A german magazine tested the 2017 GTR base premium an it achieved 203mph, years back the track edition was tested stock on autobahn also an it an amazing 208mph. Lets see your m4 come close to that in stock form, even with similar hp to a base gtr nowadays m4 570hp gtr 565hp weight very similar. The Merc lost to the GTR mainly because of its heavier weight, 390lbs, which is a lot. Now then, Sam, yes you Sam, I have been comparing cars since the 70's and for the same engine displacement, most of the time, more like 90% of the time, Nissan's engines produce less torque than its rivals (Toyota, Honda, Merc, BMW, Mazda etc). This is evident when looking at the GTR torque output which is less per liter of displacement than Merc, BMW, Porsche etc.
The M4 Competition X Drive is seriously impressive for a car that can be had well under 100k brand new. People are complaining about car pricing these days, but 7-8+ years ago you would have had to pay well over 300k+ to get that kind of performance. And it would have been in a mid-engine super car with no practicality and meant to be purely a weekend toy. This is a legit daily driver with actual passenger and trunk space.
Good job guys. Great real racing where the cars are so close that just a little variation in launches can make so much difference. It’s great to see you standing on the gas and brake and just letting off of the brake when launching. That’s how to get the best numbers regardless of whether the car has a fancy launch control or not. Keep doing it on even the most basic cars you race.
These head to dead race comparisons are kind of pointless. It is very difficult to get near perfectly synchronized launches. You can clearly see whichever car goes first has a significant advantage. At least at a dragstrip you can see whether it was the car or the driver that won with reaction time 60 ft 1/4 mile time and MPH. You could do the same using draggy's in each car. Sorry to but you guys are terrible at synchronizing your runs, and when cars are this closely matched reaction times make a huge difference. So unfortunately I feel like we learned very little in these contests. If you really want to step up your channel either rent out a drag strip or use draggy's. Oh and if it is painfully obvious that someone either jumped the gun or was asleep at the line, don't even bother showing that garbage, take some pride and do it right.

At least at a dragstrip you can see whether it was the car or the driver that won with reaction time 60 ft 1/4 mile time and MPH. You could do the same using draggy's in each car.
Sorry to but you guys are terrible at synchronizing your runs, and when cars are this closely matched reaction times make a huge difference. So unfortunately I feel like we learned very little in these contests. If you really want to step up your channel either rent out a drag strip or use draggy's. Oh and if it is painfully obvious that someone either jumped the gun or was asleep at the line, don't even bother showing that garbage, take some pride and do it right.

GTR was an amazing, ground breaking car when it was launched and continued to be for many years after but this test doesn’t really do anything for it’s legendary status. It (barely) beat a Mercedes-Benz SL, a grand touring car that although more expensive is mostly driven to the country club by older gentleman in South Florida. And the M4 (when it was an M3) wasn’t even close to GTR performance when it came out and has now surpassed it stock for stock. So if you look at it in terms of the GTR has basically gone from being an 11.5 car in 2008 when it was released to it being an 11.2 car 15 years later(!) it’s not much to brag about, especially when the other 2 cars during that time have chopped almost 2 full seconds off their performance
The SL is a gentleman's GT car, so its no surprise its not quite as responsive and tenacious as the other two. Low 11'2 is still rapid!
New SL lost with "old" GTR 🤦.

I wouldn’t shift yourself for the roll races. Pick a gear for the roll and put it back in auto for the fastest times possible.
If you cant run all 3 cars at the same time....dont do a 3 car video. Just make separate videos....cause we wanna see the M4 and GTR go at it.

Crazy they are still running a 15+yr old platform vehicle with newer vehicles and it’s still in the same league with them. Imagine taking a 15yr old M4 or SL and comparing it to newer sports cars lol.
