Later that day the stage came past and thought these guys are slow even I went faster in an old banger. Turned out a driver died on another stage and they all declined to race, but wanted to display for the crowd. Found out the next year how fast they actually run the stage when a mk2 came through my front garden wiping out the car wall and fence. But everything was fixed within the week.

I think that the issue is that many of those guys just buy a fast, powerful car straight away instead of getting a cheap E36 and learning how to drive an rwd on a closed road (not even a track). It's basically overinflated ego

These are not the casual daily drivers... Those mainly young men are obviously showboating and can't handle high performance cars at all. @@tsaki_titan Yea in the last 12-18 months there have been a MASSIVE number of them having to be replaced under warranty. Something keeps exploding inside the diff and the whole thing turns into a frag grenade.

Heavy car with that much power creates too much load on the diff and the transmission, so if you launch it constantly its gonna fail eventually. I dont know if Audi cheaped out on it, or they didnt take into consideration that people will launch it whenever they can. I've seen people do 200-300k kms and didnt need to change the diff. Also BMW has the same issue with their M5 cars, where diffs and transmissions break while trying to do a launch.
If you can afford a high end performance car then spend the extra cash for professional driving lessons to learn how to handle that power in daily driving (dry, wet, and snow covered roads) as well as track driving.
Totally agreed. I took a few courses before buying a RWD car, went to a few track days and started simracing in the meantime - and I'm still super reluctant to mess with the TC. Yet people with far less training do it without a care in the world, it's mind boggling.

My dad took me out to a parking lot in a challenger and taught me how to do donuts, burnouts, and drifts safely and responsibly. He emphasized that if you aren’t confident you can pull it off then don’t do it because it’s not worth hurting others for your poor decisions.
