Wow Taht brought back memories from my S-65. That hidden throttle cable was so slick and responsive. I’ve fallen out of love with the Aluminum anti seize, it tends to gall and is no good in heated applications. I am now trying the Copper Anti seize hoping for better results. 😂👍
Ohhh Yah... happened to me. I have a 67 S90 & the throttle started getting stiff on the way home one day & by the time I got back It was almost seized! The twist grip throttle slide is very easy to overlook untill you are stuck in rush hour! ✌👍
It's quite similar to the throttle on my Original 1949 Panhead HD. I completely restored it 25 years ago and purchased it for $400 in 1969. You did a nice repair RoadKing...as always ! Cheers my Friend! ...Newk from Kentucky
RK- nice work isolating the problem & fixing it!! And a note for your younger viewers: Don’t buy cheap tools!! Quality will pay for itself over the lifetime of the tool….
The screwdrivers included with just about every old Japanese car/ bike tool kit have not only a JIS tip, but also the best carburetor jet screwdriver I've ever found.
i ised to watch your content all the time, you made a 4cyl briggs motor back then. good to see you still making content, i believe that in order to keep up with a youtubers content its important to click the like 👍 or you dont get served the content.
You’re right about using oil with something that gets dirty . Graphite works better for that application. That Trail 90 is really cool. I would like to have one 👍
I don't know how many times I've taken things apart that someone used anti-seize compound on. You can basically think of it as a lapping compound, it helps clean threads and prevent corrosion, it is not a lubricant. And in a case like this it can actually accelerate wear on those little parts.
Thanks Bob!! I understand it completely, some poor guy just looking for some help or advice and just happened to ask the wrong guy!! It's all part of the process when you work on 60 year old stuff, alotta hands have been in there!!☻
Nice work getting that mess sorted out and cleaned up. That's something I haven't encountered yet. I did just help a friend get an axle out of his Shadow that should have had some anti-seize schmoo on it though.
Happens to the best of us tho, or life gets in the way. A very fine balance of motivation, creativity and circumstance, The stars have to be aligned for me to get anything done in the garage sometimes. 😁✌👍

I've never tried the Copper!! I mainly use it on lug nuts!!☻
The slide inside the grip sounds like the twist grip gear change on the bike my siblings had back in the early 70's
I had one just like it years back. Great bikes!

That will do it, much better RK 👍🏻

I'M sure who ever globed all that never seize in there meant well but they created a big mess. Good job RK! Looks like it works like it should now!

Thanks Tim!! I had a 1999 Shadow 1100, what a beautiful Bike that was!!☻
Nice work RoadKing. I'll bet dry silicone could work as well for lubricating that slide.
Thanks Mike!! Yeah that or teflon spray, anything but anti-seize!!☻
cool stuff, thanks
Nice recovery EJ.
Thank you George!!☻
Cool bike! I was given 2 of those and I was able to make 1 running bike out of them. Crazy what they are worth now.
Yeah Buddy!!☻
nice job, I guess the never seize did the opposite job than what it was suppose to do.
Lucky finding just never seize in there. When I take things apart I usually find a bunch of broken pieces that can't be replaced or repaired.
I know that feeling Tex!!☻
I'm wondering , have you lost your focas? You started a wagon, then to a sidecar, now to the honda???
This video was taken before the Wagon or Harley Box was even started!!☻
@@805ROADKING Gotcha, hope you didn't flood the carb LOL.

When are you going to start working on the Chevy?
Good fix, the never seize is not the right thing for the throttle.
Thanks Larry!!☻
Nice job! I guess I understand what the guy did with the Never Seize, but man was he misguided!

Just goes to show, even if it's called "never seize", it doesn't mean it'll never seize... :P
Holy three pounds of anti seize Batman!
Yeah Buddy!!☻
Where's the hondamatic update?
I have a great idea for an engine you should have machines by your friend from engine shows just reply and I will tell you!
