  • A review of Tamiya Model's, older style, 1/35 scale, Jagdpanzer IV L70, Kit No. 35088, released in 1976.
This model kit has been an ongoing re-issue by Tamiya, and although, the sprues and decals are copyrighted "1976", the mouldings are still crisp, with little to no flash. Newly printed, fresh, decals are also enclosed.
This classic Tamiya kit features, a Commander figure, 'Schurzen' armour plating, Open or Closed hatches, Optional Main Gun (short 7.5cm with Muzzle Break) or long (Lang) 7.5cm barrel, vinyl tracks, with both Tactical and Divisional Insignia decals.
A great "Weekend Build" model kit, suitable for modellers of all experience levels.

11:35 the 'panzer training' division is the panzer Lehr division which was actually an elite division made up of instructors and tank demonstration troops. From wiki: "Most of the division's original cadre was drawn from Panzertruppenschule I and Panzertruppenschule II, the Panzerwaffe's major training units. These training and demonstration units were some of the most experienced and highly trained troops in the Panzerwaffe, with almost all having seen combat in the East, North Africa, Sicily or Italy and many having received decorations for bravery. As a result of this, Panzer Lehr was considered an elite unit from the time of its formation." (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_Lehr_Division)

Thanks for that. Thought that divisional insignia looked familiar but never got around to checking it. Thanks for sharing the info. Much appreciated. Cheers!
