Great video Luke.I honestly really Like this new video format with all the info on the side of the screen, because it helps so much if someone Like me wants to try and achieve a similar result.I am also nearly done with the Bf-109,just I need to do the exhaust staining, however I do not have the paints needed,so I might have to pop down into Hannants tommorow.Hope to see you soon! :)
I like that you don't overdo the weathering. So many modelers make their aircraft look like it has never seen a day's worth of maintenance. And the fit on those gear doors...wow! I wish ALL manufacturers would use that system.
I dint model aircraft, but i love watching your videos. This one was great! It just break my heart to see all the AM additions to the cockpit and then having the canopy closed. Your attention to detail is outstanding.
Absolutely smashing kit Luke! It’s amazing how accurate you can make a single model kit with all those fiddly details, and need I say that those superchargers made my jaw drop to the floor!😅 Great kit and a great builder means perfection and that’s what you have achieved right here!!
When you think how hard it was to build the Hasegawa kit back then you can only praise Tamiya for the engineering work in designing parts. I am truly amazed even after 30 years of modeling under the belt.
Beautiful work on a beautiful kit. I love the P-38, I have built two Academy in 1/72 and I have six more in the stash. I really wish Tamiya would scale it down. And for four colour schemes I would buy four kits. What a wonderful hobby. Greetings from Portugal.
I know Tamiya make excellent kits and i know that you do excellent builds but i was blown away by the engineering of this kit. The definition of "dont shake the box too hard or it'll assemble itself! And what a subject? I've got a pair in 1/72 to build so thanks for th inspiration.
Appreciate the color callout graphic you made. Recently did a natural metal plane myself and photographing it I lose all the visual differences due to the camera sensor. This is a great guide for this plane, thanks for sharing your hard work again.
Too good once again. I don’t know how you pump these out so quick at such a high fidelity! Love the new stat cards in the bottom for paint pressure & thinning ratios too 🙌
Beautiful build of a great aircraft! I am still impressed by the quality of this kit. Had so much fun building the G variant. The only thing missing for my taste is the rivet structure...thanks for sharing!
Another amazing video, Luke. Your model-making skills are getting better every time. But your video skills are getting even better. I love this, cant wait for the next one
Another outstanding presentation, Luke. You have taken, imo, what is arguably the finest representation of the P-38 in model form and taken it to the next level with those additional embellishments. Very well done. 👍
Thoroughly interesting and enjoyable buld of a great subject and a brilliant video. Always liked the P38. Video format is so good - whats not to like. 😃😃
Hi Luke, the P-38 was absolutely stunning, congratulations on a job extremely well done, I have the OD scheme version and I hope I can do half as good as you have done, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
From across the pond, Salute! The Lightning is always a looker 👀. Another beautiful build. I like the new video format, layout, whatever you want to call it.
It looks really nice. I like the Mr. Color line and just recently purchased a number of their metalic colors. So i really appreciate your metalic finish on this aircraft using the variouse color. Oh, and masking the panels looks great. Thats something i will to remember. Thank you for the build video.
Hello Luke Very good job and really good video. I like thenew paint ratio cards. I must say and even if you cannot do nothing now at completed model that you missed to fill and sand a couple of panel lines on the booms. So, no medal for you 😂.
Another great build Luke and it was nice to speak to you in Hannants the other weekend. Hannants is just amazing and well worth the trip from the East Midlands. Look forward to your next build. Jason 🇬🇧
Stunning build Luke! Really capturing the essence of less is more, some modellers go way over the top with weathering detail & destress detail, that whilst looks stunning, can make the model look too busy thus losing the overall effect. My only observation, would be to add some tyre squash effect, thats the only detail missing. Top job! 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Stunning. How you get your models so good is beyond me. Keep up this excellent channel. What do you do with all your models. Do you have them on show or dioramas?
Hi ya Luke, She looks so sweet and I like the new video format, and my Tamiya P38F/G is starting to stare me down so she may have to be next once I finish the Airfix B-25 which is on the bench. I probably won't use any aftermarket as it has to come from Australia and may take about 3 weeks and I don't know if I can wait that long but we'll see.
Excellent as always just wish you would have done her as “Marge” bong is my favorite pilot of all time and the entire reason I love aviation and flying as much as I do
Very nice. Seems to me your counter rotating props are set to turn inward, if my memory serves right, they both turned outward over the top. Front view: L prop turns counter clockwise and R prop turns clockwise.
I haven't read all the comments yet so I don't know if it has been pointed out yet; you have the propellers switched. The starboard propeller is going clockwise ( aft looking forward) and the port propeller going counterclockwise. I know it does not make sense since an engine-out situation will be made so much worse but overall it makes the service-life of the airframe much longer and the comfort of the pilot that much better without the vibration caused by the propeller going past the cockpit-nacelle from top to bottom.

Some of those planes got pretty nasty during WWII

What a stunning thing you've created there!. That really is a beautiful looking piece of work. I'll never get tired of watching you do this. 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻

You never disappoint! Your P-38 is just stunning & your weathering is subtle, just enough. I love your supercharger too! Well done!
Don't forget the Molotow chrome on the teardrop mirrors on the nacelles, these were for the pilot to ensure his main gear was extended or retracted.
Maaaate, your builds and videos are getting better and better and better. Can sit and watch this all day with my baby boy 🤟
Cool, I have one in the stash. I didn't know about the 3d printed cockpit will try and track one down.
Terrific result, well done! Love the subtle weathering. Don't those Tamiya P-38 kits just fall together?? Gold standard engineering...
Great work, my man. The model looks well engineered, and you did it justice.
Great build and great video. Love the paint etc callouts.
Looks fantastic. 👍👌
Thank you for this great, complete built ! Final result looks amazing !
Awesome build. Great skills.
OMG that fitment 👍😀👍

Sick Allison Superchargers.
It's always a good day when a new mach models video drops! It's like an injection of modeling mojo!
Loved your build - subscribed! Thanks.

The most enjoyable video yet. Fabulous build.
Sweet! I also did 'lil Buckaroo' also!😊
Super build really enjoyed watching thank you
Thank you very much sir!
Excellent video. I wish I had the Tamiya and not the Revell 1/48.
What a way to improve your vids what a joy to watch
Great build Luke, I love a good Tamiya kit...
Beautiful build Luke!
Thank you very much sir!
Genuinely incredible! Love the new video style. How did you do the chipping on the silver around the cockpit and drop tanks?
A great looking P-38 build
Hello Luke
Very good job and really good video. I like thenew paint ratio cards.
I must say and even if you cannot do nothing now at completed model that you missed to fill and sand a couple of panel lines on the booms. So, no medal for you 😂.
Beautiful. And without glue 😂😂
This P-38J is one sexy beast. Great build!!!!! Love it!!!!!
Stunning looking build mate 👍
BEAUTIFUL JOB! Maybe one day my masking skills will be as neat as yours.
Hi Luke, I'd love for your next build to be the English Electric Lightning, now that is one iconic aircraft!
Keep up the great work. 👏🏻👏🏻
Sweet bird.
Awesome job!
The ubiquitous P-38 drop tanks. Ever see the crazy post-war Bonneville racers made from these?
Outstanding build!
Another great build - you are on a roll 👍
Love this build this aircraft very impressive
Nice building! And amazing voice, like a big cat talking😉 enjoy both😊
Another great build Luke and it was nice to speak to you in Hannants the other weekend.
Hannants is just amazing and well worth the trip from the East Midlands.
Look forward to your next build.
Jason 🇬🇧
Great video..fantastic build.. you certainly have improved your ability..this plane looks absolutely stunning...not too much weathering perfect

Top job! 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
great build, wish they would make a 32nd one
Thank you very much sir! Now that would be cool!
Excellent video and a great kit.
Beautiful lightning mate!

Wow, great work! ❤
Nice choice!❤🎉

Stunning. How you get your models so good is beyond me. Keep up this excellent channel.

Thank you very much sir! Gowannn get going on it!
The Allison V-1710's startup noises sound like the Millenium Falcon's hyperdrive taking the pi55 on Han and Chewie, lol...
Sweet Lightning.
Superb. Great new format.
Kelly Johnson made the GOAT of all twin-boomers.
The metallic shades pop when light hits them from different angles.
Excellent build
Fantastic job
Perfect build 🔥🔥🔥
Stunning!
Thank you very much sir!
Excellent as always just wish you would have done her as “Marge” bong is my favorite pilot of all time and the entire reason I love aviation and flying as much as I do
Stunning build, I'm now going to have to explain to my wife why I 'have' to build this tamiya P38 😅
I reckon I'm going to have to give one of this a go.
Very nice. Seems to me your counter rotating props are set to turn inward, if my memory serves right, they both turned outward over the top. Front view: L prop turns counter clockwise and R prop turns clockwise.
Dobra robota, pozdrawiam.
You remembered the shipping tape stains.
Very nice result. Does the surface have a metallic sheen?
Outstanding!
Beautiful build! Well done Sir. :)
Kind of looks like Robin Olds' Scat IV scheme. He was a Lightning jockey, a Saber pilot, and most famously, an F-4C Phantom driver in Vietnam.
Amazing build! Can i ask what airbrush and compressor your are using?

GREAT build as always Brother 👌 Feel Free to spend a little more time showing your Supercharger technique as yours are "Mint" 👍 -DETROIT
🎉🎉
Thank you very much sir!

Ah yes, capillary action. Boxman is proud.
wow!
Tamiya engineered Hasegawa into the dirt.
thats very nice ,if you build it again buy the Eduard Rivet decals it will transform the final finish ,i have build two of them so far !
Nice🎉
Lovely build of a superb kit by Tamiya. Out of interest, with the panel line wash - how long did you leave it on before wiping it off?
With the panel wash how long do you leave it to dry before removing the excess? Thanks
Fork-Tailed Silver Devil.
ETO lightnings had ODG antiglare strips, PTO lightnings had black antiglare strips.
