To people who came across this video and decide to get into modeling because this gentleman is doing this so easily.
This is a trap people...
I fell for it many years ago...
After over 300 kits and thousands of dollars spent on tools and paints...
I still love it 😀
same
@@maxyusha241 likewise !
Why is it a trap?
Lol! A trap! Is it easy after 33,000 mistakes and countless kits.
@@HiroKiselyov because it is hard and tool heavy.
As an aircraft mechanic, I love the attention you give to the inner panels. You matched the ubiquitous zinc chromate green perfectly. This corrosion resistant paint has been in use on military aircraft for the better part of eighty years now, and to see it so precisely replicated is outstanding.😀👍
as a fellow aircraft engineer I agree to this is really is amazing how he can replicate this perfectly.
That job sounds fun, is it? And also are you a mechanic for the USAF or for Commercial Airlines
@@Whitiscoolio Both. Served as a fighter aircraft mechanic for better than twenty years in the military, and now work as an airline mechanic.🙂
@@MrAndyBearJr what planes for the air force did you work on
@@6potsplayz-iitppyou are 100% not an aircraft engineer.
I've built plastic models for 60 years and this guy is the best I've ever seen he is THE master.
I'm sure you've heard of Sheperd Paine. Previously 'the' master.
And here I thought that you were already a master but there you go raising the ceiling even higher... damn, this is pure art. Beautiful work, as always.
You definitely take modelling to another level Plasmo, incredible stuff.
As always thank you for the video, and the inspiration.
Your already a Rock Star with your builds, you've outdone yourself, thank you posting your B-29.
I think you are seriously among the top 10 scale modelers.
Plasmo cutting out the music to just yell "Epoxy Putty" with his accent warping the words will never get old.
Wow, I thought my models had a lot of detail.
Excellent build 👍🏻👍🏻
2-words, "OUTSTANDING"!!! "Thank You" for sharing this build with us...
Браво!
Я просто смотрел у меня и то чуть сердце не остановилось от напряжения...
Вы - большой мастер!
Absolutely incredible build. The amount of extra scratch built detail put into Plasmo models is incredible.
It's amazing how you brought a static model to life and the sound of thunder and spotlights are over the top. From a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being best I give you 💯.
Oh, I've been waiting for this
Oh, yes
Same!
Same here .

Me too
Ι just can't praise your work enough, every time you out-do yourself with these pieces of art!
David, no Plasmo model is ever complete without a FEW modifications, absolutely gorgeous….thank you…be safe…from South Africa
WOW!!! What an amazing build! A suggestion, if I might, you might want to put some chipping and simulated oil stain on the openings where the cowling access covers are removed. In my experience as an aircraft mechanic, these areas wear from fretting and frequent removal. I love your channel! Thanks!
Chipping? The B29 came in bare aluminium only, no paint to chip. Stains maybe, but they were expensive birds so they'd be cleaned post ops. IIRC they cost the same as a navy cruiser.
@@davidharris733 The B-29 was around $605,000 per copy in 1944, the Cleveland class cruisers, commissioned in 1942, were $31 million. Amazing aircraft, it was the first to have "flexing" wings, meaning the wing would flex as it developed lift and transitioned to flight.
@@trafficsignalman I heard that comparison in a documentary programme. It may have been "The World at War". I didn't bother checking the authenticity, or exactly what class of cruiser was being compared.
@@davidharris733 playing with costs is a fun game, many documentaries like to get the absolutes thrown around to make a bang. No pun intended. I saw The World at War, was pretty good as documentaries go. The B-29 was developed to deliver the nukes from Manhattan Project. The total program cost was $3 billion (1945) which was the most expensive program of the war. The Manhattan Project, which developed Fat Man and Little Boy was only $2 billion. Regardless of the cost or history of the equipment, Plasmo did another great recreation.
@@trafficsignalman That he did.👍
The paint on decals, weathering and engine upgrades are a great choice. Really makes the model . Great build.
Hands down, thats one of the finest displays of work I've seen. Glorious.
Beautiful model. To fly to Japan from Marianas bases, B 29s only used 1 bomb bay for bombs, the other bomb bay had a fuel tank installed.
Absolutely amazing. I really like the running commentary as you describe how you're achieving these incredible results. Congratulations on a wonderful result!
David it is a pleasure to watch you build these kits and give us ways to improve our modeling skills, much appreciated and all the best to you and your family!!
I think this is your best build yet the amount of extra detail you added lifts the basic kit in to a work of art, keep them coming David
Ein Meister der sein Handwerk versteht. Wunderschöne Detailarbeit. Es macht Spaß zuzuschauen. Man merkt die Liebe die sie da ranstecken
So good! Got the kit on my shelves since 2 years and this was the next on my bluiding planning. Thanks David.
Dave, beautiful build of one of the most iconic bombers ever designed. You are an artist of the highest order. Thanks for sharing.
I fell in love with the B-29 about 55 years ago when a friend showed me his Airfix kit. It's been my favorite airplane ever since! You really do it justice - what a labor of love!
The B-29 was one of my favorites as a kid too...until I saw Strategic Air Command and the HUMONGOUS B-36. It was so powerful, so absurd that I fell in love with it immediately. To this day it might be my favorite bomber of all time, though the B-29 and B-17 come very close.
Wow! I watched several more recent videos before I watched this one. Your English has improved noticeably in only a year. Kudos to you, sir. Of course, your work has been excellent for a long time.
You are the most talented modeler I've ever seen and I'm grateful you take the time to record this for us mortals. It never fails that my mouth falls open at some point in your video from sheer awe. Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic -- museum-quality masterpiece! I realize why you did it -- for us -- but leaving one wing intact, and rhen re-masking and matching paint for the second wing was crazy.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime model, David. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Respect.
I never thought I’d see the day this channel did a US heavy bomber!!! Can you do a b-24J in the future?!?!
Досмотрел весь фильм,не отрываясь.Было очень интересно.Какой огромный труд!И какой потрясающий результат! Восхищен!
Nádhera, jako vždy. Tvoje preciznost a smysl pro detail je neuvěřitelná 👌
Beautiful build! My grandfather flew as a tail gunner on B-29s and I've always loved this aircraft.
You’ve officially convinced me, I’m absolutely going through my jewelry pieces and old parts to find a few gears and making me a Rosie. Those rivets lines are chefs kiss perfect!🤌🤌🤌
I built that kit in 1972.
The piece of art you created compared to my build is the Mona Lisa compared to a stick figure. LOL. Thanks for the video.
Always a pleasure to see a new 'Plasmo' video especially after a week at work. Chilling watching with a nice glass of red wine wishing I had some of your skills. Great work as always David
That has to be the best B-29 build in any scale that I have seen. Outstanding job!
Your meticulous attention to detail and historical accuracy is very inspirational. Thanks for sharing your craft.
The attention to detail and patience you have, is amazing! This kept me glued to my iPad watching this whilst waiting at the airport for my flight. Well done!
Nádherná práce, jako vždy. Hezčí b-29 jsem nevidél. Děkuji za tvá videa, jsou velmi inspirující. Díky nim jsem se mnohému naučil a pozvedl své modely na vyšší level. Těším se na další videa!
Absolutely incredible as always, and as a cool side note, I spray the actual insignias that way on planes I help restore at my local museum. Your templates are 1000x easier to use though!
There's model making, and then there's what this gentleman does. Unbelievable. Looks absolutely gorgeous, like you could get in it and fly
My grandfather was CO on one of these in WW2 and the Korean War. I've always wanted to make his plane, but wow I'm pretty sure it wouldn't look like this. Incredible work- all the riveting!
this brought back a memory, when i was a kid i talked my mom into buying a model of the Enola Gay, it had a 3 foot wingspan and was super detailed. i spent weeks painting the inside and it killed me when i put it together almost all of my hard work couldnt be seen.
Sounds like Monogram's 1:48 kit -- huge!
Incredible.. The quality of your work and the way you present it is truly world class. So well done! ❤
When modeling becomes art. Amazing work!
Wow, what a beast of a kit. What really amazes me is all the improvements from basic lead wire and plastic to resin made tires, bombs and rivets. Just wow 👌
I remember one year my family took a trip to the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robin's, Georgia. While there my dad bought me a B-29 "Enola Gay" model. I can't remember what brand (this was almost 20 years ago) but I built it over the course of a few weekends. It didnt look near as good as this does though, excellent work as always!
Had a similar experience with an Italeri Junkers Ju 52. Was a good model tho. I just didn't have the skill to make it shine.
I was lucky enough to see a real B-29 fly over at an air show a few years back, it is a truly impressive aircraft. Your model really does justice to the full size plane. Great work!
Imagine hearing all the pistons in those corn-cob engines as it flew by. Awesome!
It has been a true joy watching your skills grow over the years on your channel. You are a true inspiration!
One of my all time favourite aircraft…Love the detail you have added. Inspirational build. Thank you for sharing your build. 🙏👍😎👏
Always superb, always mesmerizing! I could watch you for weeks on end - such a master craftsman!
I just love watching you take a so-so model and making it into a masterpiece! I don’t have the patience to add that kind of details to my models. Thanks for sharing. Happy days and model on! 😎🇨🇦
Doing different shading on the panels really does make a huger difference. Really impressive work!
Your work is like a symphony. Bravo.
I hope you never stop making videos , Happy modeling , bro !
Going to the Oshkosh Wisconsin Airventure event this year for the first time. They are celebrating the history of the US Air Force. Guessing we’ll be seeing one of these up close and in the air soon! I can’t imagine the terror when bombers like this filled the sky and blotted out the sun during the war.
This is the level of detail that I love to put into my models. However it's been a long time since then. Mostly I've been modifying them for more accuracy. I like to build out of the box but many manufacturers don't include the amount of detail required for such and undertaking. Thank you for sharing this with us. Your skills are exemplary and of museum quality!
The B-29 is one of my favorite aircraft. I've seen FiFi, one of the only 2 airworthy ones left at airshows twice and I'd gladly go out of my way to do it again.

One of dad's favorite story's from WWII, was when they brought over a B-29 to the UK and made sure to park it where the Germans could see it! Sure enough a spy plane made two passes and went back to Germany unharmed!😇
Love your videos man. The "especially if you realize you need four of them" line about the custom engines was gold.
This guy is to be admired. He has achieved the highest level of excellence .
Incredibly excellent work as always Plasmo, you're a beast at modelling.
I would suggest you tot take a look at Italians ww2 airplanes models (c.202, c.205 or G.55), they are really good looking planes and I think you're going to like making their North African camouflage.
Keep it up man 💪
You are so right! Some different aircraft for once!
K tomu není co říct,
absolutní modelářská špička.
Naprosto úžasná práce
Perfektní video
Děkuji
Ať se daří :-)
It's stunning the details, when I was a kid in the 60's we'd glue and that was it, there wasn't even this type of details or adding realistic paints and weathering. Incredible to watch. Thank you.
Снимаю шляпу! Колоссальный труд, рождающий шедевры. Вдохновляюсь вашими работами.
Wow! Outstanding work my friend. Where did you find the space to build that monster? It is a beauty no doubt about it. Your eye for weathering and details are outstanding. Yes, I think it's a good idea to build a smaller, much easier model after the B-29. Kudos to you, my friend.
I love your models so much, but I have a question will you ever make an aircraft model with battel damage?
Brings back memories. I flew on the KB-50s, a B-29 fitted with refueling drogues and a J-47 jet engine on each wing. A Frankenstein B-29. Unreliable piece of junk. Sometimes landed with the propeller hanging loose. R-4360 engines were a mess to repair. 56 sparkplugs per engine. Caught 13 on fire just ground testing. The ground crew called me "Sparky". Retired the aircraft the year I was discharged. Great job in making this model - all your models. You are an accomplished artist.
You are not just a model builder; you are an artist! What you do is amazing but also very inspiring.
Did you know both B29s used to drop two suns on Japan where heavily modified so the bomb bay could fit the Atom Bombs. Even then they were a struggle to take off with. Also I think you should do a HE 111 crashed in the ocean from the Battle of Britain, sorta floating sorta sinking.
Love your skill and attention to detail - but I find it crazy you do so much effort on parts that will be hidden. Unfortuantly this is a sad tendency of many in the hobby. I find it crazy.
Honestly people on videos make it seem so easy when in reality it takes me hours and hundreds of different pint switched for one model so great job
Your builds are extraordinary. So is this one. Your channel is definitely one of the best scale modelling channels on RUclips. Great job!
B-17 sunken half in the lake! :P
That's what I ask since years!
Why? Because I described and worked on such plane in every historical detail and even family members of crew visited me accross the ocean to see remains of the plane. Ofc it no longer is visable above surface of the lake.
This guy must be a billionaire. All these kits, tools, paints and others costed him thousands. Not to mention where he places those models, dude lives in a mansion and has his own warehouse next door.
your builds are always the best, watched someone to the same kit..but not anywhere as close as yours in detail and skill
Stunning build, incredible talent. You should be very proud of this plane and your work. Can’t wait to see more
Beyond words! Best scale model builder ever
Flattening the tires was a very nice touch. Great job!
I absolutely and unconditionally loved your remarkable job with the B-29 Flying Fortress !!! Congratulations on taking care of so many details which, in the end, will hardly be visible...Thank you for your mastership. Laurent from France
I am totally impressed by the skill and intricusies that you have to create this work of art. Fantastic job. Thank you
You are a master! Your model enhancements and attention to detail is out of this world.
I did the Revell model back in the 90's for my dad who flew them in the war. Nice job on your model.
wow, wow, WOW!!!!!!!!! To say your results are breathtaking is an understatement!! To say you are very talented is an understatement!! Ive been speaking English all of my life and I don't know what words to use so its NOT an understatement!! I am so taken aback by your work! I am a new subscriber!!
After watching your expertise I don't know whether to be excited or depressed.
You sir are a wizard. You make models that look so real sometimes its tough to tell they are just models. Thanks for sharing!!
I have been utterly awed by your skills, scratch building on a level that fills me with envy and amazement. Wow. Thank you for sharing your gifts
Incredible. I would pay good money to visit a gallery display of Plasmo's work!
A true masterpiece.....if the spinners would move and the plane could taxi it could be real B-29 in action!
A few years ago I saw a B-29 fly over my city, something to do with some airshow where you get to fly in the planes. It was absolutely amazing!
This man showed us what is the craftmanship!!! I made this Academy kit long time ago, I want to make this again after watch this video. Many thanks.
Amazing as always, the extra detailing and the incredible paint job make this another masterpiece.
This is the definition of doing it well and doing it good
Your attention to detail is admirable. It is a pleasure to see such an accurate rendering.
I do believe less work and man-hours went into making the real ones. Awesome!
