Plot twist. The French farmer spoke excellent English, and doubled the price everytime Bruce mentioned how rare and complete it was, and how much he wanted it. Oui messieur
Great watching Bruce again, re the airborne beret, my dad used his after the war for plastering and it fell apart. Dad was 6th airborne d-day, Merville Gun battery assault
Loved this series was gutted it didn't continue. Freddy was a true legend too I didn't know until recently that he was actually at the seige of sangin in Afghanistan
Re the Para berry, the full story is that the maroon colour was from Brownings race horse colours, good show. In those days many officers were old school posh, which is excellent.

The Schimwagen in the UK may not have been of das Reich vintage but correct me if I am wrong was there not a skeleton key in a Waffen SS shield, which means that this vechicle if the marking is genuine was part of ths LAH/LSAH - Liebstandart Adolf Hitler one of the most eliete divisions in the German Armed Forces with a combat record second to none. I belive the skeleton key was a word play on the unit's Founder Joseph 'Sepp' Dietrich as a 'sepp' is a German slang term for a skeleton key so the unit adopted the symbol in houour of it's founder 'Sepp' Dietrich. It can also be found on one of the Tiger Tanks in the 'Film Kelly's Heroes', and I also believe that the LASH was based for a time in Italy to rest and refitt after the Eastern Front. The rest is as they say history.
You are absolutely correct. I'd argue its worth more than the farmer's beautiful Schwimmwagen. The key-wordplay is referring to "Dietrich" (not Sepp). It can be seen on tanks as well because the 12. SS Panzerdivision (sister-division of LSAH) adapted the key together with the victory rune as their symbol.
@@flashlight4380 Yes you are right, the symbol for the 12th SS Panzer Div Hitler Jurgend was a key over a single Sig Rune as I believe when the 12th Div was formed from the Hitler Youth ( single Sig Rune) it was lead by veterans from Liebstandart ( skeleton key). I think most of the 12th SS div were literally kids in their late teens and they suffered terrible casualties keeping the Falaise Pocket open to allow as many German armed forces to escape encirclement as possible.

It is extremely hard to ride an bike like that when you are only used too hand clutch and foot shift , because it is so hard to find the geonometry between foot clutch and foot and hand break

This show was awesome 👍
The chuckle brothers 😱😱
Those radios weren't the problem it was the frequency crystals inside them that was wrong due to an arrogante Radio expert of the RAF
Actually the key in the Liebstandarte symbol is a pun on Dietrich the commanders name and means lockpick
The radios were for short range as Bruce said. Trouble was the units were too spread out, beyond radio range.
Bring back Bruce!
Great I love That Guy❤😊

That’s the wonderful world of TV alas….
The best thing was Bormann's beer bottle.
Or Hitlers toilet or Eva brauns tampons, yeah course they were mate
Any new episodes?
I don´t hope! 🙄
I used to dress up in my uncle Jack's airborne beret as a kid 😂
Full marks to the Yanks for those early walkie-talkies, good show, must have saved a lot of lives.
Best show going
repeat again !!
That radio set is not short wave.
U tube GOLD.
They were apparently not so good radios during market garden
Pathfinders did not use those lamps.
Pathetic irresponsible treatment of that beautiful Harley WLA. Letting someone who cant ride get on it
"It got away from me".
🙄
I believe Jon still has the vehicle, it was just a stunt for the TV show.
Is this ever coming back on TV???
The Liberrator is an 750 cc Flathead better known as the FLa
In the early days it had an so called suicide shift where the clutch was foot operated and an stick shift directly on the gearbox
Suicide for the fact that you had only one hand on the steer all the time
It is extremely hard to ride an bike like that when you are only used too hand clutch and foot shift , because it is so hard to find the geonometry between foot clutch and foot and hand break
That bike crash is facke as hell
Is Bruce's sidekick really as dim as he sounds?
Hus? Can’t stand him, Ian was the one for me - all the knowledge and experience para and arms specialist
Turks are all over europe Hus is the "money man" he's there for a good reason
His is not as dumb as he sounds, he’s much worse.
You’d think he might pick up some knowledge after all Bruce’s deals but obviously not
