This implies that Mari's death, one of the key things Omori was meant to erase from Sunny's memory, still bled through in the end
it makes sense honestly.

This whole scene is so cruel
It really is, like after you reset headspace the game puts you into this false sense of comfort, like you battle hero to get back to humphrey, you get to battle fun clones of sweetheart and when you find out there’s a fun little boss rush the game surprises you with a tough boss fight against your friends, only for it to ruin that relief by reminding you of what this game is truly about.
Reminder that this is the only fight in the entire game in which Omori gets afraid

This is why Mari was given the safety of the picnic blanket. I love how the console exclusive edition includes very creative and artistic content. The idea of Mari's health being reduced to zero triggers this unnerving memory that slipped past Omori despite his efforts to protect Sunny from the truth.

this fight is so intense that when it shows mari’s hanging body, basil and omori turn into real world

damn, this girl don't got hands...shes a literal manifestation of my deepest and inner moat turmoil brought to realization. its almost as if my past id catching back up, and bring back the worst memories I've ever had to deal with.
I know some people think all jumpscares are bad because if something is oversued too much it always sucks but this one is pretty good. Has nice build up and is honestly quite subtle, unlike the obnoxious loud jumpscares that people hate. Remember, there are no bad ideas, just bad executions.
I somehow skipped over the part of jumpscare warning and I immediatly got the afraid emotion.

If you use Observe at the start of the fight , the " Basil is too afraid to move " text will appear way earlier than expected, But the text will still appear when the cutscene / Reality break activates.
Its just a small detail i found by myself lol.

You need to be on the console version, and interact with basil after attempting boss rush
They not only changed into the real world sunny and basil, they changed into the younger versions of the real world sunny and basil.

@@sanscomic4226basically the game revolves around the protagonist Sunny(aka Omori) and his friends, something terrible happened to his sister Mari and it divided the friend group apart and completely broke Sunny, in order to cope with it he hides himself in his dream world and Omori (his dream self) has a goal to keep Sunny safe from the “truth” basically the truth is he accidentally killed his sister and his friend (basil) helped him by framing her death so no one knew he killed her. and basically at the end of the game there is two endings, good ending is where Sunny accepts the truth and tells his friends. Bad ending is where he can’t handle the guilt so he jumps off a hospital building. and that basically sums it up
How do you do boss rush??
don't open the door for Kel, on 1 day left get paycheck from jawsum's office to reenter Humphrey, enter the bomb puzzle room and enter the left tube(note that boss rush with Basil is only available on console version)

but then, suddenly Jade sees the horrorterrors and panics. like basil. yeah. JADE is too afraid to move.
but then she wakes up, it's almost 6:00 AM, her bed is messy with squiddles like it's nothing. Feferi, too, pesters her, like it's even *less* than nothing.

its exclusive to the console version of omori, you can have omori and basil in the party just for the boss rush after you complete it once

I dont think im the only one that thinks this but
This fight sucks (gameplay standpoint, not that its very scary it sucks) bc lets be real if you got this far in omori you would expect a jumpscare, even the game is giving obvious hints when mari just heals you
ya, honestly, I thought it could have been more interesting. I wanted her to be a badass who really tested Sunny's emotional limit. And I mean Sunny. It would be cool if she had a Skill to "revert" Omori to Sunny, as in, make Sunny confront her as himself, but let him keep Omori's skills and such. I wanted her to test Omori's mental fortitude after the whole battle, not guilt trip by healing us and then giving us a cheap jumpscare with the sound of an elephant. Plus, the photo in the jumpscare just increases in size, it's kinda lame. :/
It would've been great if she pushed Sunny to his limit and complimented him for beating her trial. Maybe that would even allow us to play as Sunny in the dreamworld because he's stopped hiding from the truth. I know it sounds too ambitious, but just brainstorming. I do have to admit, it is so awesome how it suddenly switches from one game mode to the other. Badass. XD
@@snowarmth that could work but idk how lore related since its not rlly Mari on that second phase, rather "something" (for all we know all headspace mari saw was the first phase and has no idea second phase exists at all)
