Honestly the Basil border is the best in my opinion, since it looks like the entire game is played in the photo album. Sadly it disappears from the menu when you reach Humphrey :c
I imagine that he was never _really_ comfortable about it, but just like a real friend would, understood that they needed to get this out of their system.
My interpretation was just that if something bothers Basil, it bothers Sunny by default. It's admittedly a bit of projection on my part, but that's what it strikes me as; I'm an introvert who hates seeing loved ones get pushed around, so I project that emotion onto an obviously introverted character. After all, wouldn't you be upset if somebody annoyed/picked on/etc. a friend/family member enough for them to actually speak up on it? ...Of course, I don't tend to look into media as deeply as other people, so take my take with a grain of salt.
Honestly I wished that the boarder changed in Maris battle Like. just imagine playing blind and you finish the Mari fight and out of NOWHERE the boarders just changed to black. Horrifying
I think it makes it MORE unnerving actually that the border doesn’t change in that fight. I think it helps remind the player that something like, that… Could happen ANYWHERE in the game, not just in the real world and blackspace. Which in my opinion, only serves to bolster the helpless/anxious feelings that are prominent in the hikikomori route. You NEVER overcame the darkness, and now it can spring out at you at any time it wants…

I think you missunderstood the lore, sunnys conscious (omori) is trying to hide it too protect sunny, thats why he hides traumatic thing like the closet from sunny and also in the final fight keeps telling sunny not to tell them anything and that telling them would make things worse.

Omori in the headspace is the manifistaition of him wanting to remain ignorant. Something during the nightmare sequences is the manefestation of his guilt. and during the game all 3 of these is trying to tsake control of something. In the good ending the part that wants to forgive himself wins In the bad and hikikimori Omori wins and makes sunny dream forever. in the neutral endings Something wins and sunny is consumed with guilt for the rest of his life or in the neutral endings where he dies he doesn't go too headspace cuz there is no animation implying he goes to headspase like in the bad ending so I think he just dies permanently cuz omori never fully takes control. But yeah that's how I think the game is meant to be interperted.

I'm currently level 46 on the OMORI route/Hikikomori. I'm really close to getting to the Boss Rush, just have to beat the unbelievable Bossman Hero fight. :)
i love border_blackspace. i appreciate the amounts of effort put into it. it probably has the most detail out of all the borders. i applaud the creators of this game.
Fun fact about the omoiri border: if you do the hikiomori route with the omoiri border, when you get to day one, the omoiri border will have the reds hand on it

Mari boss battle: i thought she will be op cos she didnt hurt us but that's just mari being mari dont leave her hangin' like that boys. Blackspace event: the 13:19 still got me actin if somehow snuy and babil had better idea like calling the ambulance it would be better for both but im not blaming. And nice effort since you upload late 👍

As a console player, one quick thing I noticed when playing OMORI was that when Basil went missing, the Basil head on the default border turned into a flower.
i've only ever played the console port, so it was interesting to know a lot of this wasn't in the PC version . it's quite sad, these were some amazing features that most players didn't get to experience. even the little borders were a really cool gameplay mechanic , how they changed depending on where you are. (funny thing, i played on a PC but i played on the xbox website with a controller which is why i got the console features)
I love the borders too, I love the Basil and Mari border imo. *I was not expecting Mari to be the last boss, I dont want those memories flooding back again.*
