Hey, thanks. If enough people like you give me information like this, I might just have enough material for a part 2. Let’s face it, I definitely missed an event or two :). Who knows with this game.
@@viktoriamorgunova9659 Good point. I originally didn’t include it because it didn’t seem to classify as a jumpscare for me. I mean, no sounds or visual jumpscares at all. It may just be a difference in definitions. I’ll consider putting it on if I ever make a second part.
10:10 Is by far the best and scariest thing I have ever seen in any video game. As soon as you pick it up you know exactly what happened, literally didn't touch the game for 30 min.
4:22 The part that shocked me most in the game was oddly enough, looking through the thorns. The Something appeared the first time for me. I wasn't even expecting to look through it. I was expecting a dialogue box saying "The thorns block your way" or something. Not sudden silence and that staring back at me.
Everything Sunny sees in the mirror during the night can potentially be explained by a psychological phenomenon where if one stares into a mirror in an extremely dim room they will start to see things.
My girlfriend has psychotic symptoms (hallucinations) that are enhanced by her fear of human shapes. Her own shadow terrifies her and she’s unable to look into mirrors for extended periods of time. If she is in a dark room, switching on the lights for her is one of the worst mistakes I’ve ever made when interacting with her. The sudden flash of the light enhances her fear, like a startle and brings her from a panic attack into full on hallucinating episode instead of allowing her to cope with the darkness and get used to her environment according to her taught coping strategies. Just to comment that switching on lights can also be a bad thing depending on the individuals
I have done the best I could with the help of some commenters and my experience in-game. This game has so many secrets and optional jumpscares that I don’t doubt I’ve missed something. However, this should satisfy most of your needs. :)
1:30 Oh my god, I waited the _entire game_ for something like this to happen on the Sunny route. Now I wish I'd recorded the Omori route blind, that would have scared the piss out of me and gotten quite the reaction.
This game is really scary. Not for the characters like HELLMARI or SOMETHING (that made me freak out tho), but for the story that can actually happens to anyone: losing a loved one, knowing it's your fault (or maybe not, but you still believe it) and slowly being more and more guilty about it until you start losing your mind. Besides the creepy events and jumpscares, all of this is realistic stuff
agree so much. i think that’s why this game stuck with me so much because it’s something that can happen to anyone no matter how idealistic and happy your life is beforehand (even tho sunny’s life wasn’t perfect beforehand but he was WAY happier in comparison). and that, even if demons and ghosts don’t exist, your mind will sure as hell do everything it can to make you believe they do.
Exploring the house before the moving day was a huge mistake. Especially the room outside of Sweetheart's castle (classroom), going up the ladder gave me nightmares. I still see that white crow head figure in my dreams...
During the SOMETHING in the Dark sequence, if you check the family photos on the wall, one of them falls and breaks on the floor. Minor jumpscare, but it's still a jumpscare nonetheless. Also, there's a "Mari?" head with a huge brain in that room in Black Space that's raining. Most streamers miss it. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a "hanged by hair" Mari above MOM's bed too? I've seen that in at least one Let's Play (it appeared, IIRC, during the Prologue), but I could be mistaking it for the one in this video. Also, doing the optional Oyasumi thing the very first time you get the opportunity to (IIRC, after the SOMETHING in the Walls sequence), there's several hallucinations in the house as well which is very strange considering it works even during the True Route.
when your talking about the 'handed by hair' sprite, are you referring to the one that can appear in the moms room during the prologue? If we're thinking of the same thing the way to activate it is by ignoring the knocking during the prologue so you dont trigger the first encounter with hellmari. If your event roll (or whatever its called- luck roll maybe? the random event chance?) is high enough if you enter MOMs room after ignoring the knocking hellmari will be on the bed/ standing over the bed.
@telescope_6990 in this game its referred to as WTF value. The higher the value the more odd happenings will occur throughout the game. The value is random upon making a new save so this way each playthrough is different. 13 is the highest value.
I'm playing the omori route and I'm honestly scared shitless because of these jumpscares lmao. I've been afraid of mirrors for the past few days now. It's such a good game tho, the fact that I want to put myself through this and more all over again says a lot. I'm so interested in all the secrets this game holds!! Hopefully I'll get better at dealing with these creepy things as I play more
@@hopewhite2817 yea, from what I’ve seen, different people call it different things, but for the most part, it will be called either the Omori, or the hikikomori routes.

Idk man it feels kinda ackwardly comforting like, it doesnt seem like hellmari (menacingly scary), it just looks like shes there for you, literally behind you, looking at your every step so shes sure that you will be fine, quite the big sister thing
19:46 I like that part, specifically, it sounds so peaceful, like Sunny's it's starting to feel less guilty, the piano playing in the background being so comfy. 19:56 But then, you remember, it was your fault after all.
6:20 This one has been messing with me lately, cause I was doing my second playthrough doing the omori route, and at that point I thought I had already seen every scare in-game or online. So I was just having the time of my life ringing everyone’s doorbell and suddenly Mari appears and I’m just left there.
The first scare was one of the few I’ve witnessed in my first playthrough. I woke up in the middle of the night because I thought I had done everything in the dream world and I could wake up. Unfortunately, it was still night, so I decided to look around. That mysterious door wasn’t there before, so I opened it. Sunny getting dragged through there freaked me out so much I just closed the game.
the first jumpscare in the video is strangely my favorite, it just tickles that part of me that enjoyed horror rpg maker games (the witches house, ect.), like even down to the noises, the sounds and the execution it just gives me nostalgia
@@ellec7188 I've seen a lot of my friends stream Omori to me and eventually getting to that point in the game, and freaking. every. time. this shit gets me off guard.
IM CURRENTLY AT THAT PART AND ITS SO PAINFUL BECAUSE I WANT TO GET FURTHER IN THE GAME BUT I CANT BECAUSE THAT MEANS I HAVE TO FACE IT AND IM TERRIFIED OF IT
It isn’t in the video but one of the scariest parts for me was when you’re in one the black space rooms with basil and the watermelons in it and you’re just chopping up the watermelons and then suddenly, you chop basil up. There’s no loud stinger no quick zoom in, it’s just like you chopped another watermelon.
Mari appears in the mirror as well when hero and kel come to the first time to Sunnys house. After you leave the piano room you can start hearing the piano bso, once tou look at the mirror it stops.
@@noux he doesn't have a happy sprite either, and his angry sprite resembles omori's enraged sprite. omori may be the least expressive character usually, but he is a lot less emotionally unstable than sunny
first blind playthrough, was playing at 3 am like an idiot. got Hellmari in the mirror, had trouble sleeping the next few days and i probably will have trouble sleeping tonight too. thanks, me.
This video made me realize how I don't think Sunny's friends would really be angry at him (not to say they won't be disappointed and sad). Even though what he did was severely messed up they can clearly see that he is very remorseful, but I do think it might take some what of a while for all of them to fully forgive him.
This might be the subject of a Daydream effect for an Post Game continuation There is leaked concepts for the Switch/PS4 Port in this video here. ruclips.net/video/pZEvFY9OMmQ/видео.html It has an effect of only Sunny and Basil seemingly against Everyone in battles including Mari .
@@MetalizedSoul i think aubrey would forgive right away, hero might take longer. i think aubrey would understand since she nearly did the exact same thing to basil and sunny just a day before. hero was the closest to mari after sunny, and he clearly beat himself up so much because of what he thought was her cause of death, so i can see him struggling for forgiveness but he is a kind and forgiving person and loves sunny and basil, so i don’t think he would hold onto it for very long.
Kel will forgive sunny first. - He is the most emotionally strong and positive of the group, and overall genuinely on Sunny's side through and through. A good time to be a simplistic person: It's easiest to just forgive and get along, so that's what he's about. Aubrey will emotionally forgive Sunny, but be mentally conflicted for a while. She wouldn't be able to hold it against Sunny, and will not feel ill will towards him, but will have conflicting thoughts and not know how to express or cope with the reality of the situation versus how she feels about it. She might feel like a bad person being able to so easily forgive Sunny, so she might withhold and internalize it all for a bit. Likely the "I need some time" response, even if she's already forgiven him from the start, because she'd be happy he opened up and the group is healing. Hero will vocally and outwardly forgive Sunny, but be internally conflicted for the longest. He will outwardly try and keep the group together, and knows they should try to forgive and be positive, but otherwise internally, is going to be emotionally distraught about the situation, and conflicted because 'it's sunny's fault', but also he knows outwardly it's best to keep everyone together and be strong about it. Kel is likely never going to hold it over Sunny's head. Aubrey might end up using it against Sunny if they ever get into a very bad argument, but then will immediately feel bad for doing so. Hero would likely never hold it over Sunny's head, unless it comes out in private and overheard during an emotional state, or an emotional angry outburst... And it will be more questionable if he feels bad about saying it, or actually means it, depending on how soon it is. Those are how I read these characters anyway.
ihad fucking sleep paralysis after defeating HELLMARI at the DOCKS and she was sitting on my bed staring at me and i physically refused to open my eyes after catching a short glimpse of it
@@b0x640 You guys don’t see it in the video, but everytime I encounter a super scary moment, I cover the screen with my hands so I wouldn’t be scared :). I do it to avoid sh*t like this. Though post-recording I still have to look at it while editing to get the cuts and order of clips right.
im so glad i paused right before hellmari and.....never fucking mind. right next to this comment in my recommended, i see fucking hellmari and its 11:40 p.m. and im about to go to sleep.
I just finished my first run through this game and if 23:27 had happened to me I don't know what my reaction would be, but it certainly wouldn't be a pretty sight. And I was so suspicious of those mirrors, too...
Yeah, when the real world segments started I got a strong feeling looking in the mirrors wasn't a good idea. Considering there's an achievement for looking in all the mirrors... I even tried to see if there was something like that while in humphrey but rng was "not" on my side so I didn't see it.
I find the Mari in the Mirror even cute... Even though it's supposed to make you feel uneasy because Sunny us still engulfed by his fear and despair you know that Mari isn't there to cause any harm, she just wants to protect her little brother from the bad things even after dying...
I think the worst part of these scares is that its so damn dark and it happens to fast, I keep rewinding to see what really happened. I know when I actually play this game it’s going to make me jump just from my mind exaggerating what really happened lmfao
The Mari chase one scared tf out of me. Mostly because there's nothing you can do to stop it. You just have to watch it, and even though you want to run from it there's no way you can speed up or anything because it's just a video game. It was only like 2 seconds long but it was really mentally taxing for me lmao
@@noux oh! if you squint and ignore the bottom left of her jaw, her face looks like something's eye! and her actual blacked out eye look like its pupil.
Not a very fun fact: when going to Sunny's house in the real world, you may realize that there's shoes hanging on power lines on the bottom of your screen, those are commonly done to signal that someone has died, and in this game it basically foreshadows Mari's death
one of my favorite things about omori is it's attention to detail. it adds so much to the game's charm and it's horror and aaaauuughh it's just so damn coooooooolllllll
16:26 OK, I know that everything that happens here is in Sunny's head, but in my culture you never open the door for if no one is on the otherside. By opening the door, you are allowing whatever entity that knocked on your door free entry into your household
Like you said, although Sunny was hallucinating, I believe he wasn't so skeptical about opening the door because they all live in a small village/town, and everyone in the neighborhood knows each other. You can even count the houses in there
i still dont think that was in sunnys mind tho but real mari's spirit entering. the same as she in headspace was thre as well (after she departed you can see the "fake headspace mari" is confused by how sunny reacts because he talked to the "real" one etc.
im surprised i got almost all of the easter eggs and events during my first run. I thought it was just part of the game which made me love it even more. Then again, my gameplay was 60+ hours long so ;-; no wonder i got the happy ending
I watched this at 2:45 am late in the morning, room closed and dark, covered myself in pillows and blankets and stared at the ceiling wide awake… I hate myself
Out of each and every single one it's probably only the door hellmari from the first day and the mirror hellmari face that actually scared me, the other mari ones and stuff didn't effect me as much as those two did. Other ones just made me sad really.
I've probably played this game too much. I rapidly scrolled up the comments, and all I could see was the red heart symbols on my black background for youtube. It looked like Basil's bloody footprints to my brain and spooked me slightly.
@@pizzatime.7030 One of the best things about Undertale is the massive amount of ending variations it has, especially in the Neutral Route, depending on what you did and who you killed. That and the massive amount of secrets it has.
@@noux I really love the fight style in Undertale because i do love a challenge. I really hope Deltarune will be a good mix between Undertale and Omori since they have some similarities, I also hope that deltarune will become a bit darker like Omori. Maybe darker and more sinister each chapter. In Omori I really love the twist at the end, my mouth was wide open in surprise and horror that Sunny did the thing with the tree (if you know what i mean).
@@noux lol, the completely undistorted version (with full color) is actually not that terrifying, except for the elongated neck. But only Hellmari can make a deep-fried image unfunny.
You have no idea how much joy I felt when finally seeing dream Basil in the library shelf hole It was ripped from me in seconds when he turned around and I immediately woke up Masterpiece
i thought i saw most of what the game had to offer but i guess not. just goes to show how much time and effort they put into the game ( i literally waited years for this to come out 😭 ) also glad im watching this when im very tired cuz it makes me immune to jump scares despite it being midnight LMAO
Holy shit i remember getting the “Stranger In Sunny’s Room” thing one time It was right after i beat Something In The Dark, so im wondering how rare this one is
It’s super obscure, at least in my book. The event only happens at some random points in the game and you need to do some really random things to get it.
@@noux Also another obscure one that i just remembered: If you wake up in the middle of the night after fighting Something In The Dark, there’s a chance that you’ll see it’s face above Sunny’s room
I have a headcanon where Sunny and Basil wake up together, back as kids again. The whole thing, including Mari's death, was all just an awful nightmare they shared. They hug each other and begin to cry tears of relief and joy. They go on to live happily ever after together with a new appreciation for the lives they live.
That coffin jumpscare scared the hell out of me the first time I saw it, I didn't expect it especially with that slow mari theme playing, not to mention how ominous it was for an rpg maker game.
Spoiler Warning I just have to say Omori is like a Masterclass of horror games. A lot of horror game devs today utilize jump scares to startle their players, but it becomes predictable and annoying when they rely on them too much. To me, it can tend to undermine the atmosphere of the whole thing. When you have a nice jumpscare, there's always a build-up to it- a nice sense of dread before its release. But what I like about this one is that it can leave you with that feeling for long periods before that scare and even long after. I knew this experience would rock me to my core after the first jumpscare as Sunny when you're given the choice to open the door for Mari. It's slow, almost gut-wrenching. And then you see a warped, grotesque image of her. No loud sudden noise. No creepy text leading up to it. Just a quick flash of an image in complete silence. This game really isn't for the faint of heart. Speaking from experience, you can become paranoid while playing this one.
4:49 thank goodness i was too scared to interact with all of the faceless, that mari sprite change would have fucked me up if i saw that on my playthrough.

Hahahaha, thanks for the comment. You have given me a lot of material to work on.
that mari head does something weird if you keep talking to it.
@@lierce6130 EXPAND your mind OMORI!
when your talking about the 'handed by hair' sprite, are you referring to the one that can appear in the moms room during the prologue? If we're thinking of the same thing the way to activate it is by ignoring the knocking during the prologue so you dont trigger the first encounter with hellmari. If your event roll (or whatever its called- luck roll maybe? the random event chance?) is high enough if you enter MOMs room after ignoring the knocking hellmari will be on the bed/ standing over the bed.
@telescope_6990 in this game its referred to as WTF value. The higher the value the more odd happenings will occur throughout the game. The value is random upon making a new save so this way each playthrough is different. 13 is the highest value.

It has an effect of only Sunny and Basil seemingly against Everyone in battles including Mari .
I think Kel will be the first one to forgive, then eventually hero, i think Aubrey would take quite a bit of time though
@@tsuki3752 honestly the more i think about this the more i think that Hero will be the last one to forgive Sunny
Those are how I read these characters anyway.

your friends smile warmly behind you will always be the scariest jump scare for me. I can't even watch that scene without covering my eyes
Spoiler Warning
I just have to say Omori is like a Masterclass of horror games.
