There were plenty of evidence against Casey, but it has to be beyond reasonable doubt, and the jury bought Jose Baes ridiculous tale of her father was the one, and it was an accident. We knew and she is guilty, but the court has to prove it. Another thing, the prosecutor went for death penalty, there were no other option, no life in prison, no man slaughtered, so the jury had they hands tight.

For those that are saying the jury shouldn't be taking this long... From my experience in a jury... You'd be quite surprised at how long it would take for something that seems so simple. We literally had 1 video to go through and only 6 jurors and we had to go to a second day simply because 1 guy wasn't on board with us. We had to explain why his statements didn't make any sense in order to convince him. So with the amount of material they have to go through and the amount of jurors with all different backgrounds and ideologies, I can imagine this taking quite awhile

    For those who don’t know:
Defamation isn’t just about truth and falsehood. It’s also about damages. You have to check several boxes here.
1: was the statement true or false.
2: was it written or uttered by the defendant
3: did the statement cause damages
4: did the defendant willing lie or speak recklessly
They have to do this for EACH STATEMENT. It’s not a lump sum. You have to take them individually. Also they have to meet all the above conditions. If even one element is lacking, it could be ruled as not defamation as per the law.

It may be obvious to us viewers who should prevail, but the reason it’s taking so long is that the jury has nearly 40 pages of jury instructions they must abide by, and there are a total of six claims/statements (between JD’s claim and AH’s counterclaim) that they must reach a finding on; each statement has seven elements to it. They have hours of depositions, exhibits, and testimony they must consider; it’s not a matter of just taking a single vote as to whose side they believe more.

It broke my heart to hear the horrendous things AH accused JD of. How do you do that to someone you supposedly loved so deeply the way she talked! JD could not have said it any better when he said “she took nothing less than everything”, that said it all!!!! You felt his hurt just listening to him, you want to hug him tight and say it will pass one day : (
JD was totally spent, drained & empty you can just hear it in his voice, & see it in his eyes!!! Thank the lord above you got out with your life, that’s how bad it had to be.

This shows that The Jury are taking this seriously and viewing each member as general members of society which is what people should *WANT* to see because otherwise it would’ve been a waste if the entire six weeks were thrown out due to any form of mistrial factors.

“A defamation of character claim must be specific enough that it refers to the plaintiff. The statement does not have to refer to the plaintiff by name but it could be defamatory if the plaintiff is reasonably identifiable.” - I found this on defamation laws. I wish JDepp’s team had made this more clear to the jury, that it did NOT have to mention him by name. He just has to be “reasonably identifiable “. And I wish they reminded the jury in closing arguments that the ACLU exec testified that they advised Amber to edit Johnny’s name out.

I mean at this point we can tell that she was going out of her way and she was vengeful to Hurt Johnny Depp I mean TMZ come on now the only good thing I could see coming out of this is is it was the Washington Post that did all of this and Johnny Sue's them and then Washington Post Sue's her Amber for falsely giving them information

It's only common sense that the publishers would title the article. The content of the article should be the determining factor as to defamation. The heading only has no merit without the content.
