Can CS540 be connected directly to a telephone line? Just to answer calls.
That was more informative than expected. Thank you for such clear and simple instructions.
Appreciate the feedback! Let us know if you have any other video suggestions in the future.
great video!
Thanks Bill!
Hi, I have the Plantronics c565. Everything good, but when you transfer a call from the phone to the headset, the headset makes a really loud two-tone beep: DAA-DAAAH!!!!! It scares people. Anyway to turn that off?
Thank you for the video. It was very informative. How can you pair two headsets to one base for training? So that when a call is picked up both can hear and speak.
Hi Susan, thank you for the feedback! Glad this video was helpful to you. Here's a link on how you can pair two of the headsets to the same charging base for training ruclips.net/video/A43QNzeX6z0/видео.html
Is there a way to tweak/increase/help the range? We use ours in a doctor's office. When they were new just a couple of months ago, the range was not an issue. However, now when a doctor enters a room that they used to be able to talk from, it beeps out of range. Thanks.
Great question. If you plug your charging base into the computer and download the Plantronics Hub, there's a setting in the Hub that talks about wireless range to have it extend further. If that doesn't help unfortunately there's no other way to increase the wireless range. The more barriers you go through, the less range a wireless headset will have. Realistically most wireless headsets will give you about 150ft of wireless range in a home or office setting.
How do I hook the CS540 up to my laptop? I bought a RJ9 to 3.5mm jack adapter (en route), but I have a feeling the adapter may not be what I need. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
Great question! You can get this accessory to allow the CS540 to connect to the computer headsetadvisor.com/products/discover-d315-universal-usb-adapter-for-plantronics-jabra-and-sennheiser-wireless-dect-headsets?_pos=1&_sid=54f7b1339&_ss=r
Is there a way to connect this headset to a computer rather than through a phone? Is there a cable that can connect the base to the computer such as an aux cable etc?
Hi Patrick, this questions has been coming up more since now many of us are working from home and need connection to the computer for remote work. You can get the accessory at the link below which will convert the CS540 to work on your computer. headsetadvisor.com/products/discover-d315-universal-usb-adapter-for-plantronics-jabra-and-sennheiser-wireless-dect-headsets?_pos=1&_sid=4fb8c8d02&_ss=r
My callers are not able to hear me, I can hear them fine. I do not have the headset on mute. Is there somewhere else the phone or headset could be on mute? I have checked my Microphone button and turned it up to 6 and it doesn't make any difference. Is there something other that a malfunction earpiece (CS540/HL10) that I can check. My phone is the Avaya 9608/9608G/9611G
Most likely the issue isn't caused from the headset being muted. There may be a quick setting that needs to be changed or a different setup. Feel free to contact us at 1-800-683-5715 and one of our Advisors would be happy to help.
If i purchase adapter to connect to computer will headset then function as wired or still be wireless.
You’ll be wireless still. The charging base would connect to the computer but the headset will be wireless up to 350 feet.
I need a this headset but I need it for my computer can you please recommend me a inexpensive Model With those requirements for my computer please thanks
To keep costs down, I would recommend a wired headset in that case like at this link headsetadvisor.com/products/discover-d712u-deluxe-dual-ear-usb-wired-office-headset?variant=32375678074925
I’m in car sales. Is there a plantronics device that I can take calls and switch between “park 1,” “park 2) etc. While being out in the lot? Thanks in advance - new subscriber here 🙂
Hi Stuart, unfortuantely there's no headset that allows this feature. You'd need a cordless phone for something like that.
Why does my headset and charging cradle light up when someone talks loud? So weird
If you're using the HL10, chances are the microphone of the HL10 is picking up the noise of people acting as if your phone is ringing. If you do have the HL10 Lifter, you can disconnect it and duplicate the noise to see if the light stops blinking. If so, then that's what's happening.
Can you answer calls from the headset?
On specific desk phones with an accessory to go with the headset, yes. Feel free to contact us to verify compatiblity.
Can it be connected directly to a telephone line? Just to answer calls.
Hi Alexander, unfortunately not. You need to connect to a corded desk phone.
@@HeadsetAdvisor Thanks. That's sad because I have only cordless phones. Then can I connect it to a DECT base unit of a regular DECT cordeless phone? If Plantronics claims it's DECT - then such connection should be possible.
@@alexanderyosefyakov-lev1307 If you have a single line cordless phone, there's a solution with what you'd like. Check out the video here ruclips.net/video/K1ZGVssO6dY/видео.html
I just bought one for 25 dollars!!! On Amazon they are like 150+!!
If it works well for you then you got a steal of a deal :)
