After watching your backlog of videos I cant say how thankful I am for your videos, after putting away my layout at the start of covid , seeing your videos has reinvigorated my passion for model railways and have endeavoured to restart my layout and see it through , thankyou.
Hi. Thanks very much for such a lovely comment. I'm so glad my videos of me pottering about building and enjoying my railway have reinvigorated you. I hope you enjoy building your layout as much as I have. I find it is a great escape from the everyday chores. Cheers, John.
NIce work John, lovery textures, nice selection of colours and it really works using the different grass lengths - excellent !! Coming together nicely my friend, can't wait to see the trees going on :) ......Andy
Hi Andy. Thanks for watching and commenting. Using the different grass really does make a huge difference. I've never done that before, but glad I'd watched other videos that showed how effective it could be. Cheers, John.
Hi Larry. Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you like what I've done. First time I've done anything so detailed with scenic work so was quite nervous about it all but it turned out great. Cheers, John.
Thanks very much, glad you like how it turned out. Please feel free to try out the things I've done, that's why I do the videos, to share ways to do things on model railways. I take loads of inspiration from other RUclipsrs too. Cheers, John.
Hi John - That has really come out well !! I am a fan of using the hairspray and the cheapo stuff seems to work the best and no wonder my Mum's hair never moved even in gale force winds LOL With regard to the shiney area had you thought of a mist of Matt laquer could tone it down ? Looking forward to seeing the video with the home made hedges. Cheers Kev
Hi Kev. The hairspray really did work a treat. Make sure it's not too perfumed though. The wife gave me another one and it had a very strong scent! I wasn't sure what to do with the shiny bit, someone else has suggested matt varnish so obviously some sort of matt, clear liquid is the way to go. Cheers, John.
Hi Stockton Junction. I'd thought about the brown paint but didn't want to lose the black tones. I hadn't thought of matt varnish, I'll get a wee tin and give it a go. Cheers for the help. John. 😊👍
