I respectfully disagree. Fresh green paint would really set off this car. These cars are never "just another Charger." Combined with the fact that most everybody is doing "patina," there's nothing special about patina anymore. That car deserves new paint. It looks unfinished.
To me, there is almost NOTHING better on a classic car when the interior is redone and feels brand new. Its the best part of building old cars to me, because that is where all of your time is spent. A well insulated, sound treated, and clean looking interior with a moderate sound system and new rubber seals everywhere makes driving and old car daily more fun then just adding a bunch of power. Its the part I feel is where you really feel the worth of the money it cost to do it!
Fantastic work on the interior. Now, you realize you're basically obligated to paint the outside of it. I'm glad to see an actual restoration going on.
47:02 Those seats are like sitting on the floor of the car can you see out the windshield? Nice job on her looks amazing get her painted a nice dark metal flake green
A tip for the interior panels, to make silver trim, paint it black and use a silver paint pen, like those paint correction pens, get a silver one, paint it black and use it on the letters and trim to make it silver, just light dabs on the letters don't push the pen too much.
@@DylanMcCoolVideoummm... Dylan...not knocking none of it...I'm a big forward look guyi ...if I win the lottery...I'm buying a DeSoto and a 60 phoenix conv... But all that black!!! I'm a southerner like you... But ...dude...the summer!!! THE SUMMER...!!!
The patina actually looks good on this car because it’s not rotten or banged up and dented all over. Bougie interior and rat rod outside is kinda badass
I'd leave it I purposely put a 20ft paint job on my car because I drive it and don't care about scratches and also it was yellow and I hate yellow. I didn't fix the dents
well, I gotta say that the interior looks stunning !! perhaps the next project would be to repaint it then? would love to see it in its original color again 😊😊😊😊
Couple things. Somebody may have already mentioned the glue if left to dry to the touch will adhere immediately and make a better bond, and to clean the excess glue and overspray use ronsol lighter fluid. It also works to clean greasy fingerprints off even light colored cloth interior pieces and headliners.
I'm gonna clean the windows, and I'm using Windex, this stuff is amazing, wiping the windows clean using my Windex with Bounty Paper Towels, these are amazing!!
Well Dylan, I can't sign off on the black upper door trimmer the other black trim changes because I had a'68 Charger exactly the same green inside and out. I will say you are dedicated to doing things, and doing them well. I agree with some of the others, it should be painted for that complete restored look.
38:37 autocross, if your going to autocross this thing make sure you have an accusump and a baffled oil pan to keep the oil where it needs to go for that, as these cars were never designed for that, it was a mod mike musto did on his and its held together well the last time I checked
When dying the vinyl seat covers, I have had great results by first, clean clean clean. Then, put the seat in direct sunlight, on a warm day. Let it heat up and clean again. Lastly, paint in the sunlight. Never had any peeling or cracking, and most importantly, no color transfer. Changes the color permanently. Great build, love the channel, and keep on keeping on.
Man, this is so nice! I've followed this build since you took it out of the woods. I'd be absolutely proud to make this my daily driver just as it sits. Nice work!
Love everything you guys do to restore old cars, hope you can keep it going! I know we all need to buy your tee's and whatever because it helps the channel, I will before too long
Black block stripes, faux black vinyl top, or a black stripe on the trunk and rear quarter panels. It’s too nice not to have at least a bit of paint. Love your content!
For future reference: for dash bits covered in rust, drop them in a tub full of Vinegar for a day, wipe off the rust when done (it will literally wipe off) then soak in a tub of Baking soda water (1 cup baking soda/1gallon water) for about 15 minutes, rinse off and dry and your parts will be like new and the rust will be neutralized! To go the extra step, electroplate with Zinc. Did this to the dash frame of my 93 Celica that sat 7 years with no windows in it, turned out PERFECT!
Looking awesome Dylan, if you get a chance, you should put some sound deadener on the inner roof before you hit the road, it will help big time . . . I used to be from the school of shinny outside, tidy inside, but the patina look on the exterior is growing on me . . . I wouldn't be able to resist putting a shot of clear over it if I was lucky enough to have her in my garage . . . lol . . . so I'm not cured yet !! Great to see you bring her back, it was great to see you bring her round the first time . . . she's looking magic !! Nice work !!
Looks good, keep the standard up and you will have a beautifully restored car, that just begs for a proper shiny original green paint job. That would finish it off perfectly. Thanks from UK.
I have watched the development of the Charger from the beginning and have loved all of it. Watching the interior come together is awesome and I agree the black and green makes a nice contrast. Will you be painting the body, and can you please consider putting some Magnum 500 rims on...PLEASE?!
Looks good Dylan. Ready for power Tour. You’re happy with your work no doubt. Yes and the Black and green pop. Check your tail lights. Did not see them come on when backing it out. Thanks for sharing. 💯👍👊
WOWWWWWW DYLAN that interior is so NICE and STYLIN!!!!! That black with the green is the right touch!!!!!! Good eye brother!!!!!! I have to say again.......THE CHARGER SOUNDS SO GOOD.
Looks good the way it is, clean engine bay, interior almost done (gotta leave room for improvement), good suspension/brakes, clean underneath with good exhaust. Pretty much rust free body, worn out paint, perfect patina finish.
Very nice work on the interior dylan those seats are awesome, they compliment everything youve done perfectly, i love the patina look and the originality of the car, over here we always apply a nice coat of lacquer to make it shine and preserve the patina, makes sense with the UK weather being as unpredictable and wet as it gets haha
Love the 2 tone interior......! car is coming together nicely....I also agree that paint would " MAKE THIS MOPAR A SHOWCAR".....but maybe a future project....enjoyed the content...so, keep on wrenching brother!!!
Hi Dylan, this was a great video !!! Been waiting for you to get back to the king of muscle cars. I am a die hard Ford guy but still have to admit the Charger was the king. Thanks again!!!
Can’t wait seeing you guys and this car going to power-tour. This will be a very cool experience. I love everything on this interior! I wonder what Kevin and Isaac will say about it!
Hi Dylan if you have some carpet left over glue some carpet to those front floor side kick panels. We had a 67 Chrysler 300 and they had carpet on them and it looked nice. I like what your doing with the green and black. Cheers Doug from Canada
Dylan, I absolutely enjoyed this part of your build. Nicely thought out. Im still feeling the seats would've stood out better if they were done in green to match with the door panels. Just my two cents of input on color combining. But I definitely understand where you are going on this project! Keep up the great work 👍
Love what you and Briar have done. Love the Patina but make it pop more with a mixture of diesel and oil or some type of shine juice like VCG sells. Love the history this car represents.
Love the build. The interior looks amazing, although I’m not a huge fan of the aftermarket seats but that’s just me. It would be “cool” if you installed an aftermarket A/C since you have an original A/C car. Not to mention much nicer to drive on those warm, Southern days. Oh, and please wire up the factory console lights to the door switch and dome light. Also the reverse lights. I love to see classics with everything working! Awesome job on fixing the power windows! All this car really needs is a nice set of factory rally wheels or something similar to finish it off. 👍
New word I recently learned for raised lettering like on that panel- Debossed, the opposite of embossed! Also, a paint-pen is another way to do accents like the silver on those panels, not sure which is less fiddly.
One idea next time you want to reveal paint like your dash is Fret Erasers. It actually a guitar maintenance product but it works for what you're doing. Something to keep in mind for the next go anyway.
Good morning from Cape Cod 🦈 the amount of effort you put into finishing the interior really paid off, you definitely need to consider finishing the exterior also. By the way you did a wonderful job Dylan and Briar 👍✌️🇺🇲
I like how good the green and black go together! Also, don't paint the exterior. I'm excited it's almost done and back in action. I think the video getting it home from Oklahoma was my first video of yours, so i have a soft spot for the Charger.👌🏻🤘🏻
Dylan, you had me excited this whole time. I wish I was there filming for you so you and your partner could do some work together. Or just stand back and watch and hand you tools lol I would love an afternoon of that. I'm 57, disabled and have nothing to do.
How to make I've made carpet panels before and carpet lay-ins for Chrysler Ford and Chevy the best thing to use is a soldering iron that's what we use to put holes in them and kind of Dipper or you would say like get rid of fuzz shaving if you ever think about it
Out of all the cars on this channel, THIS is the one I want to see primered and painted the most. Match the door jamb green and spray this beast.
This car deserves a beautiful green metallic paint job
I get the whole patina thing I truly do but this car in the org. green would be stunning .
Then it’s just another green Charger. No way to tell the history visually.

Dylan, this charger deserves a paint job and the whole works
or at least a headliner
Headliner? Sure, but painting it would make it look too nice, it should stay as is, like the Challenger!
Nope. Leave the patina.
