    Looks like so much fun! Had a good laugh when the charger door opened as you climbed in. I had a couple '70 chargers when I was 16, and I was climbing in mine like the Duke boys all the time. Once, I climbed in and just sat on top the door and as I did, the door opened and I fell flat on my back. Knocked the wind out of me! My dad came by about that time and asked what happened, he had a good laugh about it. Good memories. Enjoy those old cars man, thanks for the videos!

    I remember when I was 14 I was changing the Spark Plugs & wires on my 1970 Monte Carlo.
    I asked Dad if I could do that before I got into it. He said ARE YOU NOW, GO AHEAD TRY IT, HE FREAKIN KNEW.
    I pulled all the wires off changed the Spark Plugs then I realized as I was going too put the Wires back on ?
    Where the hell does each one go ?
    I went too the other garage to ask Dad & before I said anything Dad starts laughing his ass off.
    HE FREAKIN KNEW WHAT I DID, He goes having problems with the wires after he was done LAUGHING HIS ASS OFF.
    He helped & showed me the firing order, ALL WAS GOOD BUT HE KNEW & LET ME SCREW UP.
    That was in 1979 & I still remember that clear as a bell.
    Dad wouldn't help me with anything, I had too ask him for help unless it was something for him.
    Don't even ask me about the first time changing drum brakes, IT WAS AN ADVENTURE.

    I would get it running again and if possible I would drive it up to my local Good Guys car show if you were able to get it safely driveable 20 miles each way to my Garage to the show and back. I would keep the air conditioner in the car, keep the four speed, and run it this summer while I was building a good Motor for it. We enjoyed all of the videos you make and I love that watching you all is getting my 84 year old Dad wanting to help me with my project car and video it. I will be watching the video and then planning to somehow get a 383 Chrysler for my next project. That is what I'm thinking about building with a Four speed also. You have the Father excited to get it done so he can drive it. Happy Memorial Day to you and your family and friends! From my family of Veterans from WW2 to the present day in the 28th Infantry division of the Pennsylvania national guard. Thanks again for sharing this and I will let you work then pass it along as always. Good morning and enjoy your Memorial Day today!

    So I gotta hand it to Mr Birdsong. First, he has a cool name. (Not even made up either so.....). Second, he's got "Tenacity!" that means a Non stop "gonna make it work, Work Ethic". There's a difference between being Tenacious and having Tenacity. One is something you may have conjured up from the bowels of your being for a certain thing you are determined to get done or accomplish. The other is something you have in your SOUL and that goes for EVERYTHING you do!. Third, he's got his priorities "fairly" straight. Yes he's hooked on almost only Chargers or at least Mopar which is a LOT of cool and a LOT of fun. But once in a while he does throw in....wait no no he doesn't That beautiful Malibu in the background is testament LOL. Poor little Malibu. LOL. Fourth, DAMN IT HE'S A DRIVER! and a HELL OF A DRIVER TOO! One thing that can be a bit or even a lot of a bummer about some YT car channels is that they will be great at the fixing and the banter which are amazing talents but unless you really love the cars because you want to 1. Feel that power on the edge of sanity or. 2. Looking cool is a virtue. Well it's not the end all to be all BUT there is a time and a place to put it at the top of the list! There are a few more reasons Chris Birdsong is a great YT personality but I know if this is too long (As it already is) no one will even try to read it. Even once. Sigh.....Oh well.

    Just because the slots are in the hood doesnt mean it had a light package. It may have had the metal block panels covering the openings, which have been removed. Seems like they were more likely to actually have the lights in '68 models, but the opening was there either way. Like you said, cost cutting. I have found far fewer later models to actually have the lights.

    • @junkerup
      @junkerup  4 месяца назад

      Ur thinking 70, if 68/69 there was either a hole or not. No blanks

    • @tvdroid22
      @tvdroid22 4 месяца назад

      @@junkerup My first car was a '69. The car was all original, owned by a family friend. The hood had the holes, and instead of lights like our '68 had, it had metal blanks held in place by an underhood bracket/nut/bolt assembly. The car was bronze in color, with black tape on the hood indentions running left to right covering the entire width, including the area where the lights would have been. That way you couldn't see the flush fitting plugs. I entertained the idea of adding the lights, but it never happened. No idea where the car is now and I hate it, but at the time things were very different (early 90's). If I ever come across the brackets again I'll figure out a way to send you a picture of them. I am fortunate enough to have another B body now which is kinda happening along the lines of the General Mayhem, in that A 440 is going in and just want to get it running, then do improvements as I go. Your stuff and the Mayhem and Engine Masters stuff has been very helpful in answering some questions and pointing out things that are very helpful. Oh, it's a '68 Coronet 440. A 318/904 car that deserves a big honkin' 440. It means a lot that you're out there bringing these cars back.

    The 318 don't have 100HP the slant 6 has more then that that 318 has 230 hp being a 68. If that is the og 68 block them 318's can be bored out over 60 I know guys that bore them 90 over damn near to a 340 bore. They ar real good blocks the early LA's and the heads should be a closed chambered head compared to the 70's smog heads

    Those 318's just love to run and you give it a heat cycle and the rings loosen up and start working. Typical Mopar
