I got a car that is desperately in need of help. I have most of the parts that need replacing already. New fuel cell and straps, floor pans, carpet, shocks and donor "shift pack" transmission and converter.. It's been sitting so long the shoddy body work on the passenger rear quarter is falling apart. But the crate 350 starts by breathing on the key.
I have been following you for over three years and this is the first time I have ever replied to on any post you have done, I am touched, great job man your the best.
So nice to see decent people in the world, you made this gentleman's memories of this car and family come back to life, God bless you both for doing this.😊
What a great post! The Cadillac is amazing of course but Reggie's stories were so special. Yes! I'd love to see you do some more like these, getting old family cars around or someone's first car brought back to life and so on. Thank you! You made my week.
How you incorporated Reggie telling the car's story while you worked on it was a cool touch to this video. Kudos. You can tell how happy Reggie is when he drives it at the end. "You brought family back" says it all - sometimes cars take on a whole different perspective beyond just being "appliances" to get from A to B.
You made Reggie's day Dylan. I would love to find me a nice late 60's to mid 70's Cadillac and play with it. Hopefully someday. God bless you for all you're doing in getting these American classics going again.
I love the stories this man told and how you inserted them throughout the episode. I hope you're able to keep doing things like this for people here and there.
I was going to say the same thing. Love the stories and memories behind this special car. My grandmother passed away in 2004, and left me her 1979 Coupe DeVille. It was the last year of the 425. I used to ride on the arm rest so I could see out the windows, just like Reggie described in this video. I still have the 79 DeVille and drive it regularly.
Just can't like this one enough! Great story and heart warming to see Reggie so excited to get his car back. Dang near made me cry tears of joy while watching.
Really respect how you kept all the little life bruises on the Caddy - truly as he said it 'you brought family home'. Leaving those little projects for the man to make his heart whole was a true gift.
Enjoyed the family history stories. People collect and restore cars because they are time machines that carry you back to happier times. You need an ultrasonic cleaner for the Pinesol to work.
Amen on that ultrasonic cleaner, I don't know when but Dylan should be getting one soon. He is a most desrving chap and hopefully a manufacture will send him one as a gift.
You could just see his love for that car the instant he started driving it again. You could see him going back in time to his glory days. That my friends is the power of a cool old car. They are time machines. Really cool.
hello dylan, greetings from England....i have a tip for you for cleaning the carbs....the next time you are at your local car parts place, get some ACIDIC ALLOY WHEEL CLEANER, drop the carb in, and it will start to fizz...leave it until it stops fizzing, then pull it out and check it, if it needs a bit longer, drop it back in, if not give it a good wash with water, and dry it with a heat gun....all the garbage that came out of the carb, will sit on top of the wheel cleaner, and can just be scraped off, and the cleaner can go back in the container and used again....👍
This was one of the coolest vids I've watched on RUclips... you have given Reggie the opportunity of having miles of smiles and memories to look back on while driving his Caddy. I would love seeing more videos like this making people happy to be able to cruise an old family member again...
You turned back the clock on reggie, you can see hes got an old family member back that he can spend some quality time with, plus all the memories he has and yet to make. Great work guys and I wish reggie many more happy years with this old girl. 🙏
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS I HAVE SEEN ON CAR RESTORATION. WHAT A BLESSING TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS FOR REGGIE AND HIS FAMILY. I ALSO LOVED THE MUSIC NEAR THE END OF THE VIDEO, SO APPROPRRIATE. KEEP VIDEOS LIKE THIS COMING. JESUS IS SMILING DOWN ON THIS ONE!
I purchased a 68 Cadillac as a project because I think they are beautiful, full size cars. I have a lot of work to do but seeing this video gave me some motivation.
You're a good man Dylan for fixing that man's car. Folks need to experience the quality, power and prestige of a Cadillac. What a beautiful car. Great troubleshooting on the car's issues. Reggie WILL drive this car -- it belongs on the country roads and the interstate where it belongs. Just wow!!!! Amazing and wonderful episode!
This video is more than just car repair, you made a man very happy. The smile on his face while he was drving it is priceless. I also like the way you edited the video, with stories in between about the car from the owner. Very nice! Thank you for the video and may the good lord bless you!
This Caddy brought back a great memory for me. Back in ‘75 I was getting ready for my senior prom going with a girl I had a crush on for quite awhile. This would be our 1st date as well. So I was polishing up my 67 Skylark for the night. When I went out to fill up with gas lo and behold she started overheating. I popped the hood and I could see the water pump let go . It’s @ 3:30 in afternoon on day of prom. I was a mess. I nurse my car home and saw that our family contractor was paying us a visit to do some work on house. Mr. Lamb had a gorgeous’68 coupe de ville in same color as Reggie’s caddy. He saw me under hood pulling my hair out on what can I do in the 1 hour I got left before getting ready to pick up my date. I told him what was up and what did he do ??? He threw me the keys and said take my car for night I’ll have your dad give me a ride home. Who does that for a wild eyed teenager, well Mr Lamb did. I had the night of my life !! What a car and Dylan and Reggie thanks for sparking that moment in my life. I’ll never forget it. I hope you have many more memorable miles in your Caddy Reggie. And Dylan bless you son 🙏 son for getting that car roadworthy again. And Mr Lamb I’ll never forget what you did for me. As for my date it was 1 and done but it doesn’t take away a special night in my life.
A car is just not a lump of metal it's a member of the family the memories the cadillac holds for reggie of his grandparents his parents always a massive smile when he's reminiscing the stories it's awsome. Well done Dylan and briar(apologies if spent incorrectly) I absolutely enjoyed this episode. But we wonder how many stories there are out there waiting to be told.
What a great job. Wow. I didn't expect to get emotional at the end. I just thought you were going to fix a car up. But Reggie really loves this car and it's so great for him to have it running again. Beautiful story!!!
I can top it; 1964 Coupe Deville, 38k miles, original owner. My grandad bought it new for my grandmother. They brought me home from the hospital in it when I was born. First car I drove, did my driving test in it, first drag race win and first loss, first date, drove it at my wedding and put 4k of those miles on it that summer. Been mostly in storage the past 30 years.
Loved the video Dylan I appreciate that car and the stories from the owner and the fact you got it running again for him to enjoy it stand ovation on my end sir !
God Bless you Dylan. Sharing our Fathers grace through your services. The fruit of your labor and faith continues to be reaped. I hope you continue your journey brother
So Cool that All Three of you went for a ride together!!!!! Seeing Reggie back behind the wheel you could feel his JOY!!!!!! Congrats REGGIE!!!!!! SO COOL!!!!!
Man, what a great Video. I actually own a 67 drop top deVille that is getting done right now. My dad bought it in 1999, drove it until 2020 and then parked it. Since then it is kind of my car, but I always had other cars to take care of so I couldn't take care of it. But a few months back I decided that I want the Caddy to drive again. Hopefully it will be done soon, cuz when I see the smile in this mans face...enough to make a grown man shed a tear. Great job Dylan, as always.
True that! My 1978 Eldo starter had to be taken apart when a rear main seal blew oil into it gumming up the works more than twice in a short span of me not having the money to fix the leaking oil seal. I did take the reman strater apart and put the inside works of that fresh starter motor in the original starter housing because I couldn't get any reman starter to fit the block of that 425 cu engine. After about the second or third time doing that and having no safe place to park the car in San Francisco's SOMA district and the tranny going out fast, I fianlly let her go for chump change, $300 back in 1994 or five. I cry every time I see one of these Eldo land yachts especially if it is the same color yellow as mine was, just like a beautifully carved stick/block of butter. I called her Dina, short for dinosaur, and Parkay for giggles. She had 31 body lines, the one odd line or body crease was down the center of that long, long forever bonnet where it culminated at the leading edge, crowned with the distintive Cadillac wreath ornament.
I love what you did for him and his car. I was 20 years old and had a 1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille . This was back in the late 90's and I paid $400 for the car. It was my first running and driving car. I had to sell the car because I started a family. I'm 50 now and still miss my car. One day I hope to buy another one just like it. I really enjoy your videos.
They’re still plenty of them on Facebook Marketplace for $5k or so. They’re not really popular right now due to poor fuel economy and being so big compared to a modern car.
Our Vehicles hold our history.. like keys to the past, the smells, the sounds, the feels.. all connected to memories of long past.. they are family members that will live on long after we are gone. Congrats Reg.. take care of that beautiful Queen! And Bless ya Dylan and Bryor.. just for doin what you do🎉
I had a 66 Coupe DeVille that my mother gave me for my birthday. It was a 10 year old car at the time. I went on a road trip once, it got over 20 miles to the gallon.
First Cadillac I drove was a 1967 just like this one baby blue I was 16 and thought it was huge at the time it was my mom's baby sister's car. Aunt Midge thought it would be a thrill for me to drive that thing was almost as long as my 52 chevy truck with a horse trailer behind it.
Dylan n Briar, very kind of you to help Reggie get the car back together. Such a blessing! Reggie thanks for sharing your family stories. You are a cool guy. All you guys are a Class Act!
I'm not even a minute in, and Dylan, got to tell you, I wish I could own something like that! At 19 my dad gave me a 73 Oldsmobile four-door Delta 88. With the 455 and turbo 400. After driving a car like that, it is the most comfortable thing in the world to cruise in. Time to unpause it. Keep up the great work!
Awesome Video Dillion, What A Special Duty You & Briar Did For This Gentleman, With That Family Heirloom, ‘67 Cadillac Coupe De’Ville Is A Beauty.. Seeing That Expression On The Gentleman’s Face Was Priceless, God Bless You Both Good Sir.. Yes I Would Love Seeing More Videos Like This.. I’ve Got A ‘68 Corvette Original 427 Big-Block, My Father (Rest His Soul) A Veteran Purchased Back In ‘70, It’s Been With The Family Fifty-Four Years, I’d Love To Get It Out Of Storage & Back On The Road, You Know How Life Can Deal Us Some Cards, It’s Been On TheBack Burner Close To Thirty Years.. Seeing This Motivates Me To Get It Going.. Keep Up The Good Work Sir..
Good afternoon from Cape Cod 🦈 Mr. Reggie, I really enjoyed what you shared about the history of your family's Cadillac, I'm impressed as to how well you've kept her all these years. Thank you Dylan and Briar for your selfless work to bring this car back to roadworthiness. This certainly was a wonderful heartwarming episode 👍✌️🇺🇲
What a great story. Dylan, it’s good to see a young man with principles and kindness. This story reminded me of drives with my dad in his 67 Pontiac Catalina - a great land yacht!
What a lovely story of a beautiful car owned by a beautiful family who took good care of it. They dont make beautiul things to be treasured anymore😢this beauty is prime candidate for an extensive resto .....could easily be brought back to showroom
Briar could be a twin to my youngest grandson. He even acts and talks just like him. What a fine young man.👍🏼♥️🙏 When you said your supposed to defy me I knew what he’d say.
great story Dylan, really enjoyed this. back in the mid eighties I worked as a mechanic at a tire shop in town and I remember those Cadillac's with the fender skirts. Cadillac's wheels are different from all the other GM cars. I remember fighting the hub caps off and on, good times! great story thanks for sharing
My older Sister and her second husband had a 1967 Cadillac Sedan Deville back in 1983. I got to drive it a couple of times and it was quite an experience. It was very nice of you to get this Caddy running for him. Also, I enjoyed hearing his stories about the car.
This is the kind of stuff the car community needs to do. Even simple stuff, help older or deserving people in need out.
I got a car that is desperately in need of help.
I have most of the parts that need replacing already.
New fuel cell and straps, floor pans, carpet, shocks and donor "shift pack" transmission and converter..

Beautiful looking machine. Back when Cadillac built something special.
1968 was the best Year. The first Year with the 472 V-8 and last Year with the classic 1960's styling and build quality.
Your correct 💯@@jeffrobodine8579
Dylan you made this man so happy!!! And it was great hearing his stories..God bless for being kind and helping him...
This is so awesome. Bringing cars that have sat up for years back on the road, turning heads!
The smile on Reggie's face when he drove it again is priceless. Y'all done good!
Agreed! That smile was priceless.
This is one of the most interesting, well done videos you have posted. No junk...no patina, just find the problems and fix them. Nicely done.
So nice to see decent people in the world, you made this gentleman's memories of this car and family come back to life, God bless you both for doing this.😊

This episode is probably my favorite, really nice to see how an old car can stir up emotions. Excellent.
My grandpa was a Cadillac collector and he passed a few down to me. My name is also Reggie. This is by far my favorite video of yours.
@@benstolen4478 That's awesome.

These storied videos with the back and forth from work to story, are brilliant!
Excellent job Sirs!
God Bless!
I totally agree. One of your best videos.
Also because many of us simply don't like today's cars.
You could just see his love for that car the instant he started driving it again. You could see him going back in time to his glory days. That my friends is the power of a cool old car. They are time machines. Really cool.
Reggie’s memories and stories of this car are fantastic, great video.
Loved listening to Reggie tell the stories about his parents with this Caddy. This has probably been my favorite video so far from Dylan.

Dylan & Briar you are a true heros. God Bless you both. 🙏❣️
Reggie I'm so happy for you with the nostalgia of your family. ❣️
Because of what you do so well, made this person live through many memories of his pass time. Love our time machines.
She’s in really great shape for sitting so long. I know Dylan you will get it running and driving. Love the caddy! Reggie looked happy.
I love this style of video with the owner's story of the car.
Great job Bringing the Caddy full of family history back to life.. God bless you and Brier and the good you did for Reggie..

I'm glad Bryer got to see...... A REAL CAR....!!!!!!!
A very class act you are. What a kind gesture that will live on and not be forgotten by many. You’re a good man.
Reggie sounds like a nice guy. Glad you were able to revive his mom's car back to original condition
it is really cool to see you get that car running again for Reggie. that Cadillac is beautiful
What a great job. Wow. I didn't expect to get emotional at the end. I just thought you were going to fix a car up. But Reggie really loves this car and it's so great for him to have it running again. Beautiful story!!!
Nice survivor, beautiful blue, and cool memories from Reggie!
My favourite episode you have done to date, the pure joy on that man's face when he was driving it was a pleasure to see .

Way to go Dylan! This may be my favorite show in your library. Nothing better than giving to others.

Well stated, exactly my feelings too.
One of the most touching videos on the RUclips to date. The family history going along with the rebuild is perfect.
I had a 66 Coupe DeVille that my mother gave me for my birthday. It was a 10 year old car at the time. I went on a road trip once, it got over 20 miles to the gallon.

What a great story Dylan! And a great example of some really classic GM styling. The look on Reggie's face probably made all the work worthwhile!
My Pops had one of these 68 coupe Devilles when I was a kid in the 80s. Coco brown convertible. Like floating on air. I hope to own one
Nice job on alternating between the rehabilitation and family stories about the car.
You did a real good thing for him thank you
Super nice gentleman. I could listen to his stories all day.
Reggie is an awesome guy! Dylan & Brier you guys are incredible human beings!
this has to be one of your best videos! i love the documentary style of it. its always special when you include the owner's personal stories
The caddy looks great. Doing what you did for Reggie is awesome. You are a good man and mechanic Dylan.
I really enjoyed listening to the history of the car. The owner did a great job. You guys too of course!! 😂
What a nice car. He is such a lucky man to still have it in his family

God Bless you Dylan and Briar for putting Reggie’s Caddy back on the road.
Love the tire change and caps. CLASSIC LOOK!!!!

Awesome story!! Dylan, Cadillac called that horn the Trumpet horn, which was optional in some Cadillac models for many years.
Dylan, what a great guy Brier is, teach him everything you know,he is a rare breed these days!
Momma and Dad are looking down loving this!!! They will be right there cruising with Reggie!!!!!
Love what you did to this Cadillac... beautiful car.. enjoy this
My older Sister and her second husband had a 1967 Cadillac Sedan Deville back in 1983. I got to drive it a couple of times and it was quite an experience. It was very nice of you to get this Caddy running for him. Also, I enjoyed hearing his stories about the car.
The smile on his face while driving, you could just see 50 yrs of memories in his eyes. Beautiful car, beautiful human.
Well done Dylan, you are a great person. Good job on bringing this one back 👍🏻
