I filmed a week of my life as a PhD student in cancer research at University College London. I'm in the final few months of my PhD (eek) and here's what I got up to last week.

My bio research is determining which proteins interact with the Miro gene in zebrafish and one of the proteins i found was actin using a Y2H technique! Great video!! you’re a huge inspiration
once the fir alarm went off in the library and because the struggle was so real some students didn't leave their seat lol
LOL! I don't blame them, it can take hours to even get a seat sometimes...

Hi Amina, your PhD life resonates with me so much because I worked with microscopy a lot, and have a post-it notes system (which I have later realized to put into Kanban Board style) too.

In your vlogs you show a perfect balance between your lab and social life, which is a very good thing! I am currently a master's student and my biggest hesitation about doing PhD is that I may need to sacrifice everything for those 3-4 years😞😞

I'm a physics PhD student. I'm very gald to see your life as a PhD student. I was feeling so low with the number of times I've to step back in an attempt to move forward.. but it's a part and parcel of PhD life I guess.

Hi Amina...im so glad i found your video. Im currently doing my masters in Food science and technology and Im always happy to see someone else who is also juggling school and other things like youtube (as a youtuber myself). Sometimes I find it quite hard to balance the two...Maybe you could do a video on how to manage time etc

Wow, so glad I found you, I wanted to ask how your first year of PhD was? what did you have to do? I just started my PhD and would be working with cells and incorporating a great deal of chemistry as well in the research. I am really nervous too, could you give me some advice as per me been a newbie.. Thank you, and you don't know how happy I am to have found someone like you on RUclips.

Just curious but how detailed were you in your personal statement at masters level? Im an International relations undergraduate and planning to apply now to Imperial business school and its soo stressful thinking about long term career evolution and also how ill pay the fees.. uff! XD ive saved like half the tuition cost but Im stressed about the missing half.. are scholarships reasonably easy to get? I was a low to middle 2:1 student..
Sorry for the mini "rant" but its late at night and I hadnt even had my tea xD id be really thankful if youd share your experience!

one question your task is to figure out the protein and how it does as you said, How did you decide that you have to solve this problem, your advisor instructed it to do(after joining PhD) or you decide yourself(during masters itself) ?, & I have not seen your advisor helping you also ?; so he should be their helping you right ! or he was there when you were a new PHD student (initially)
