The visual work that Anton Corbijn did for them in this tour is the reason i think this was epic. The tour book, the installation, the videos, graphic design, photography, everything.
I went to see them during this tour... I describe it the same way every time i tell someone about it...its a religious experience. A feast for the eyes not just the ears. Will never forget that concert.
@@inkface8229 saw them 33x from 1988 until last tour .... love them from 1984 .... and this 1993 devotional tour was absolutely out of range .... f..... amazing! Thank you for this video, nice to watching you and even more to listen you about!
Goosebumbs every time I watch this. Have seen them every tour since 1988, but Devotional is my favourite. Their music and how they sounded in that period combined with Anton Corbijns stage design is such perfection. Looooooooove this!
Wilder was at the beginning the key for they success - but after he went out - Depeche Mode stays Depeche Mode with their unmistakable style/flair. Alan made some great job later in other Bands but they all haven't reach the level of DM even later.
Spot on reacion! I got into DM way too late in life, and I seriously regret it. The Devotional tour is like the holy grail for me. If I could go back in time to see any concert, it would be this one.
I've followed Depeche for years now and I agree with you this performance.. I was fortunate enough to go to this tour and saw them at Crystal Palace in London then at the Gmex in Manchester where I live... Loved every minute and it's stuck with me ever since... Great video pal and keep em coming...
Omg, even before I see this, I'm very happy you do this reaction. Very unusual. For me it's my young years and DM was not a fav band but my whole community of friends and I loved them secondhandadly. Resent years I learned to love them for myself.
Yay!.devotional is the best tour! Alan was amazing...never been a drummer and he nailed it! Such precision😍I went to it in 93 in Austin...it was magical...I still do go..every 4 yrs
Saw this tour twice, first time in the summer in Crystal Palace (London). Was open air, and even though I loved the band didn't get into the gig as much as I would have liked. Then saw it later in the year in Manchester at the Gmex. Most amazing gig I ever experienced and nothing has come close since. Was near the front of the crowd and was truly a sublime experience!
Thank you this reaction! I saw the Devotional tour in Stockholm and it’s such a high that I got depressed afterwards, thinking that I wouldn’t experience something like that again and that I’d be old and boring next time they toured. Corne the Singles tour, I and my friend got told off by security guard for being too wild!
When I was 17 all the alternative clubs was the only thing I could ever go to. Stockholm actually had a few at that time, I was satisfied. Dave is an amazing singer, and he still has an impact on me.
I been to see them on every tour from the Violator on. This tour was incredible !!! They really are a special band to see live. 54 now, but hoping to see them again.
Seen DM many times over the years and twice during this tour. The big one at Crystal Palace stadium and later at the GMEX in Manchester. Absolute quality
Another one that found you because of TOOL. Then stayed for the Depeche Mode, Black Sabbath and VAST (holy crap! Someone else has heard of VAST! :-O). Keep doing what you're doing. You rock! (Also "Drugs are BAD, no matter what! Within reason..." LOL)
Found you because of Tool. I'm 48, DM was huge for me, New Order even more so though. Would love to see some New Order if you're into them, True Faith, Temptation, all of the albums Brotherhood and Technique. Technique came out when I was 17, Run is still one of my all time favourite songs, that guitar riff...another huge one is As It Is When It Was. SHIVERS MATE. For DM - Shake The Disease is amazing, Black Celebration...Everything counts. I wore out my double cassette of 101 back in the 90s.
The Devotional tour was an incredible yet inevitable, musical alignment of planets not seen before nor since.
RIP and thank you Fletch 🙏

The fifth member those days
They were falling apart and gave to us the best Synth-Rock álbum SOFD and Tour to date. Long life to DM.
I went to see them during this tour... I describe it the same way every time i tell someone about it...its a religious experience. A feast for the eyes not just the ears. Will never forget that concert.
Masterpiece, the best version of enjoy the silence live I’ve ever seen, man this band is like the Beatles of electronic/synth pop music.
Saw DM on the Devotional tour twice '93 and '94. There are no words. That's how good the shows were. Magnificent ❤❤❤
Would have loved to catch them live with this one dude.

It was awesome. Saw them 3X. Great shows

I got to see them 3years ago. Their concerts are like no other. It's a total different level of musical experience. Depeche Mode is a must see live.

happy 40 years Depeche Mode !!!! my band for life...thnx for this reaction, greetings from germany
Depeche Mode is still one of my favorite bands. One of my fav songs too. They have so many good hits. Brings back loads of memories.
Depeche Mode on her peak with Alan Wilder and the best live versions.. very great Reaction!

Alan made some great job later in other Bands but they all haven't reach the level of DM even later.
I saw them live only one time, in Stockholm 1988, with Nitzer Ebb as the act before.
Black Celebration tour
I saw the 90th volute tour
54yrs old.. Lovvvvveeeeeeee Depeche Mode.. ! "TOOL".. FIRST & FOREMOST GREATEST BAND EVAAAAAAA

My 2nd favourite performance of this song. I love the switch up in the middle
Для меня , это самая крутая группа во вселенной , особенно этот концерт 93 года )
Agree such a cool Band would love to catch them live.

depeche mode I have loved since 83
I saw them on this tour twice! As a 17 year old kid in California these shows were just so damn amazing!

Depeche Mode's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this Year
The soundtrack of my life is played by DM.. Devotee for life, seen them 17 times live since 86
Wow wow wow, super cool ❤❤❤❤
Your right..should not judge based on that. Trying to improve everyday. Great Video
I have this concert on DVD. It’s incredible.

If you havent seen "Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence (Live in Berlin)" on here, there's a really cool added section to the song.
I'm glad you like the Berlin version, but I couldn't disagree more. I find that version horrible. This is THE live rendition!
That version is good but not Depeche Mode, this devotional is Depeche Mode, this.
Found you because of Tool.
