So my take away from this video confirms what I was thinking and that is that once you get to this level of competition/building nothing is ever easy.
That my friends is why gentlemen like Kevin are so invaluable to this sport because we all know he'll find a way to make it work and do it properly.
Once you start building and going full custom it really takes some planning and fabrication to get it all to play nice together.
Thanks for the video and the time it takes to film/edit on top of the outstanding work you do...

OEMs put hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of man hours into R&D o make cars work well from the factory. Building a race car, especially at this level, means improving upon that foundation. Not an easy recipe in many cases.

Yes sir it’s a pain definitely after your car is built around a different setup. Because no part manufacturers parts are made the same size. But Kevin and his team are some of the best fabricators/builders. It’s hard to find shops that look at everything and go out of the way too perfect the work as KSR. Yes I have a foxbody built by them with paperwork I personally didn’t have them do it but the gentleman I got the car from did acouple years back.

I talked to several different people with more experience with alcohol fueled engines and their suggestion was to not use a vacuum pump. I may still try the one on my Cutlass engine, but I am willing to experiment more on my stuff than on Cleet's stuff. If I have an issue on my own project, its not too big of a deal to me. Having an experiment go bad on Mullet, or any other customer project would not be good!

Kevin; have you considered adding header extractor style valves in the down-pipes post turbo? The venturi-effect would be very strong, with the amount of airflow a 2000-hp engine pumps, and it’s a basically free / mechanically simple way of causing a greater depression (delta-p) across the valve-cover vents. You could even go a step further and running the header extractor lines to the top of the catch can so, vacuum is pulled on the catch can itself, therefore the catch can wouldn’t need to be vented.

Hi Kevin, I'm a mechanical engineer from Brazil, about the crank case pressure I'd take a different approach about it. There's no physical excuse to a alcohol based fuel delivering more blow-by other then increase in the cylinder pressure, which it's not getting sealed by the rings. With that said, maybe it's time to rethink clearences/ring types/materials etc. Increasing valve cover breathing maybe will get you somewhere for a while, but it's not the roots of the problem.
Keep up the good work, Cheers from a fella data lover!!!

Kevin on your vent line you need to take some of the bends out. Remember the Old quote The path of least resistance is the physical or metaphorical pathway that provides the least resistance to forward motion by a given object or entity. Remove them hard bends like on the driver side. The pressure will hit it and come back towards the engine. Long swooping bends are better. Even if you gotta somehow run it around the front of the engine and bring it back somehow. If the crankcase has to push it. It’s gotta build pressure to do so.

Ever thought of adding vents to the valley? Lots of factory DOHC cars have that due to smaller air paths to the cylinder head from the crank case. Might be good to add a direct connection from the valley to flow even more crank case air out!

KEVIN, should make a bracket to live on the top of the tranny at the center point and then have a pass though hole into the car where a removal bracket can go in and out with a winch on it, it will only make it easier FOR YOU when track side and you have to pull that thing back out for some reason.. bracket drop in, hook up and crack it down.. SAFETY is the game.

If you can put those crankcase breather hoses on the front of the valve covers towards the front of the engine, under acceleration oil won't pool to the back of the valve covers and fill your tank as fast

It's all the small things that make the difference, and the way Kevin thinks things through and does the job right the first time round is refreshing.... the word HACK isn't in his vocabulary. Make a bit more clearance in that tunnel Kevin in case Cleetus tweaks a wall and things will move around and you don't want lines and solenoids being sheared off and wrecking cases... you shouldn't be surprised with 250k subs.. I'm surprised it's not more. Thanks Stu from New Zealand

Silver Sharpies make me nuts. The best you can do is store them tip down, and don't let them get cold (not an issue in FL, I imagine). Thanks for the vid, Kevin, it's too cold to go do anything on my own car so this is next best thing.

Store silver Sharpies with the point down. This is why they took the pocket clip off the cap. (Been using them ever since they came out in the late 90s for labeling relays, etc.)
