Thanks very much. Your presentation really helped alleviate the pain that has been in my calf for a couple of days now. It feels great to be better able to walk!
Thank you for this video. I always wondered how long to apply the pressure for and I like to use my hands. I never really knew how long it should take.
I think my leg muscles have weakened. I attempt a walk each morning of about 20 minutes. I also am doing 10 reps of sitting and standing, twice a day. What I most want to overcome is the delay in my leg moving to walk such that I seem to hover before I can move. Sometimes I can see this is worse if I am unsure of my footing but also when people allow their dogs to approach me (I've been bitten.) I also find that I hover when I first go out the door to take my walk, as though I have to retrain my legs to move, to make that first movement and then subsequent step movements until I get into a pattern of walking. This may be a reaction to my muscles being knotted as my leg muscles do seem to ache. I don't really want to have to buy any equipment but am willing to try these exercises if by doing them regularly they can regain movement when walking.
These exercises probably won't help with the hesitation. That seems more like a confidence with movement or balance issue than purely a strength or knotted muscle issue. Here are some balance exercises that may help: ruclips.net/video/KpTiX1aMr9w/видео.html It also could be a sign of a neurological disorder affecting movement such as Parkinson's disease though, so I'd suggest seeing your medical doctor and physiotherapist to get it checked out for sure.
@@More4Life Thank you for the balance exercises. I'll see about adding those as well as the ones to deal with knots to my daily routine. I think the confidence problem isn't neurological but it is something I need to keep tackling.
For the most part, you can do them as often as you want (dry needling excluded). However, if the knots are constant, it's probably also good to find out what's causing the knots in the first place to make the relief last longer. That could be things like shoes with higher heels, standing with weight more on your toes, or sitting for long periods of time without moving.
A few days ago, while biking in the desert, I suddenly fell, due to which I got a bruise on my under-knee, and this bruise changed color, and now the skin color is getting normal, but the muscle was very hard in that place. Now 3 to 4 clots have formed which are not painful but cause pain in the whole leg.
The most common side effect is temporary muscle soreness which in some cases can last 24-48 hours. There are other possible adverse effects if for example you it a nerve or something unintended, but with proper technique and a well-trained clinician, severe side effects are rather rare.
5 weeks a go i got cramp in the inner thigh muscle. Since then whenever i play any sport using my legs it cramps and stays for 4 days. Is this a knot or a cramp? And should i use the same techniques to fix it?
So I got a massage and realized when she did my calves it felt like a pleasure pain and we both noticed my knot. I also have varicose veins in that leg. Could that be why I have ugly veins from the knot?
There are a variety of things that can lead to varicose veins including family history, overweight/obese, vitamin K deficiency, being inactive, and history of blood clots among others. I'm not aware that muscle knots are directly related though.
It depends if what part of your legs are tight. For the hamstrings, often a "tightness" sensation comes from sciatica rather than the muscle itself. Here's a video explaining that further: ruclips.net/video/-UmFyrgPaNQ/видео.html
@@More4Life Thank you, I hyperextended my leg years back and doctors told me I just have a pain syndrome but I have knots from top to bottom and patellar Tracking disorder. Jogging seems to be great for getting the pain down and helping blood flow but I fall back into the same symptoms quickly if I don't jog or do different muscle release techniques pretty much daily. I will check that link out, thanks for your help. Feel free to shoot me anything else that might point me in the right direction based off my description.
Very informative and well explained vide. Thank you Dr. so much for this.

Thank you...I usually press my knots using my hands too...any advice for knots in the abdominal area?
The psoas is the most common muscle that i treat in the abdominal area. Here'a a psoas release technique. ruclips.net/user/shortseVR-uWWcq8I

Great video

Are knots the same as cramps😊
Not exactly. A cramp is usually intense and short-lives (seconds to minutes). A knot, or trigger point, is usually chronic, dull, and achy
@@More4Life is it possible knots can work their way up the leg due to overwork/not stretching etc and end up causing hip and back pain?
@@scotty90, yes It is possible for knots / stiffness in one area causing compensations in other areas.
All the time

How do I get biceps like yours 😂
Is there any limit to any of these approaches? Can I do them as often as I want? My knots are constant

Make sure to talk to your doctor about that as blood clots in the legs can be a serious problem if they get dislodged and go to your lungs.
I love dry neelding. I have done for my hip pain which i had because of spondylolisthesis. Do they have side effect if done from time to time ?

There was actually just a recent video about that: ruclips.net/video/dHTDDDc8VKc/видео.html

Sorry to hear that
Get that massage gun. It’s amazing!
Could I use a pencil on a knot?
@@redtail1235 you could, but I'd recommend using the eraser and not the point 😉
