    So right ! My 5 cents from current experience with hours of exercise every other day (recovery needed). 1. Muscles tremendously improved but back, hip, knee pain stays. Why ? 2. Spine extension alleviates pain but discovered myself on YT that sleeping on a cushion under the pelvis takes 8 hours out of the 24. 4) pains cause patients to move less. Therefore : the muscle loss is generalized. Exercises Target only a few. 5) Whole body vibration is extremely helpful. PTs where I am are unaware, don’t use it. Recovery delayed accordingly. 6) Pool exercises rarely proposed or accessible but extremely helpful, pleasant and easy to do for much longer/frequently than required by PT, contrary to Any floor exercises. 7) leg raises : weight of patient/leg never taken into account. Imagine adding 10 kg to a (weak) leg. When exercises are weighted, the weight is never more than a kg. 10 kg per leg, imagine. 8) prior experience of patient. I was a very active but obese child, targeted by the gym teacher, accusing me of eating candy and ice cream (had that 4 times a year). Obesity came from near continuous sickness/antibiotics/allergies. Ask me to do the dead bug now and I go in full trauma mode, wanting to throw out All the exercises which I do for hours. Just thinking of them gets me in a state. The man passed 30 years ago and it’s only this week I realized the gym trauma. When I lost 30 kg at age 16, he forbade me to do certain exercises. I flew so high he couldn’t catch me. Could not understand how I suddenly became so good at the gym. I was very flexible and strong, always the best in obstacle runs, ball games and swimming. The reason was quite obvious to me : I was overtrained in comparison, having to do same as everyone else but with 30 kg more to move, until I lost those and felt light as a feather. He never wised up.

    I’ve been struggling with doing these exercises with scar tissue in the legs after having both hips replaced

      Let your physical therapist know about it. Sometimes there are manual therapy techniques they can use to get the scar tissue to move better.

    Hi Dr. Candy, I've been using your exercises to help with my bicycle riding and balance. I noticed that doing the exercises slowly seems to be helpful.
    Cheers, Dan Treuthart

    How often should we do hips excercises? Daily? Sets?

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life  Год назад +4

      Sets and reps are highly variable between individuals, and it's more important to use good technique than it is just doing a certain number of sets or reps. Doing them regularly (usually daily at first) with correct technique is the most important thing.

    Dr. Candy, ... I have an injured Piriformis, from several years ago. ...it's sporadic and really affects my ability to do certain things, because of the Attachements . ...Being older, I was very active until this occurred, I really appreciate how consice you are with explaining the Exercises. I find it a challenge to get a good night's sleep, using a pillow between the legs does not help me a lot. ( I should mention that I had a serious childhood injury that is affected by the Piriformis injury ) ,as well as being in a car accident 17 years ago that also injured the same side of my body ( right side ) Do you have a Video (s) on how to sleep with that kind of pain (?) I do not take any Prescriptions, etc , I do take Supplements, those help ...however the sleeping issue has me in pain when I try to get to sleep, and it's there in the morning. It causes hip pain for me and also affects the IT band.
    Thank you so much.
