    Thank you. I have a ball of muscles in my lower back, you can see it as a ball on my low back and your video finally gave me release and relief. I can feel the ball of muscles loosening and the ball getting smaller and smaller. You took away my anxiety about this ball of muscles you can see in my lower back but you educated me and gave me the ability to heal myself...for that I am appreciative. You can count me as 1 person you helped today. Keep doing what you're doing. It may sound hokey....but You are making the qorld better in ur own way....👏🏿👏🏿

    GREAT AND PRACTICAL VIDEO--These exercises are the ones I remember being recommended the last time I had a severe lower back problem. Why I stopped doing them I don't know, but now that I have the same problem, except this time on my left side, I regret having stopped.I don't understand or agree with the thumbs down on this video, except that there will always be people "like that".

    I just found your video and am trying these exercises for that knot in my lower left back area. I was given muscle relaxants but the doctor said I might find excercises/physio would also help. So here I am , I would like to try to fix this myself with the help of your videos. I definitely feel the stretch but it's not really painful to do which is good. Excellent video. Was working in yard, leaned over to start my weed eater and when I stood up experienced a sharp pain in my left sacroiliac joint where a knot formed soon after. Tried ice first, then heat the next day. Painful for several days. Tried your exercises, used a plastic ball to apply pressure to knot, did the exercises with it. Feeling some progress already, knot feels smaller than it was. Very helpful info during this pandemic. Thank you.

    Great video and exactly the information I needed. One question I had was the mine movement at 12:35 where one leg is flat and the other is lifting towards the body and back down. When I go to put my leg back on the ground I have a loud and deep sounding click in my pelvis. Doesn’t hurt at all and I can barely tell where it’s coming from but would you have any idea what that might be from?
    Thanks

    Hi Doctor I have a lumbar spine problem, I just saw your video. Is it safe to carry a quite heavy baby for as long as I maintain my exercise, the pain will not occur again? Or do I have to avoid lifting heavy things so that the pain will not occur again even though I exercise regularly? Thank u for your reply.

      If you're lifting heavy objects regularly your best option is to increase your core strength so you can better tolerate the load. Here are my recommendations: ruclips.net/video/GFus5TyIlCM/видео.html

    My lower back pain is made worse by standing in the kitchen cooking, especially first thing in the am- any tips for early morning achiness? I should note that I'm a side sleeper with pillow between knees, and was dx with herniated disc at S1, but 20 yrs ago. (Now I'm just old lol) Thanks, Doc!

    I have what I believe to be a Latissimus Dorsi knot a few inch below armpit-level and about and an inch or two traveling to my back. It has been hurting for a few days and today I discovered there was a knot there that may have been developing. It's been pretty painful, and kinda got a little bigger throughout the day. I just started my running routine again three weeks ago and and am fairly active. I don't think I've ever had a knot before. It feels like a swollen, painful lump under my skin. What's your opinion on this?
    I also quit drinking 34 days ago and some aches and pains I'm discovering are increasing some anxiety tenfold.... including this. I'm in overall good health and blood panels came back great with no issues a week and a half ago.

    What if the pain is to the left of the sacrum? Is it good to put a ball there on the actual source or a little to the side? I do that cross the leg and pull tiward chest and the left sacrum area hurts abd sometimes the muscle under the left scapular blade. Thank you.

    Love your information about knots, however I have a body back bar due to a lot of physical immobility and would love it if you made a video of releasing different knots using one, there's not a lot of videos about them, I see the thera cane, but it seems there should be yoga stretches or breathing techniques and where the pressure point should be, I learn better watching videos....So for example maybe a 20 min video with a body back bar doing upper shoulder, I just feel very tender and think I'm doing it wrong and of all the peoples videos I've come across I would appreciate if you made some.

    I’ve had lower back pain for as long as I can remember. This is the most helpful video I’ve seen that addresses all of my pain areas. I tried all the stretches you suggested and they all seem effective (just wish I had one more tennis ball to do both sides at once). I did have one question, while having one tennis ball under me, is it okay to pull or move/rotate my leg out to the side in addition to up and down as your wife demonstrated? Or is that harmful? That seemed to be doing something to the muscle when I did that. It all hurts SOOO GOOD! :) Thanks for your help. I’m anxious to see how this helps in the next few weeks.

      Sorry to heat about your back pain, LeeAnn, but I'm excited these things offered you some relief! As far as rotating the leg - absolutely! That's a great way to actually mobilize the muscle while under trigger release pressure. Hope they continue to help you!

      One more thing. I’ve been doing this exercise for the last three nights and my back actually hurting more. Is it a “it will get worse before it gets better” kinda thing or is something going on and I should stop?

    Great video! Is a muscle knot the same as a long hard “rope” type of muscle? Several inches where it toughen/hardens up and is tender. Find these in forearms, legs, and back.

    • @toneandtighten
      @toneandtighten  5 лет назад +1

      A knot is an area of increased tension that causes a muscle to feel firmer due to contraction. Sounds like that's what you may be experiencing in the areas you mentioned. The same principles apply - heat, stretch, gentle active motion - all should help.

    long story short ive had a back issue/strain for almost a year and a half, only recently ive been able to actually address and work on it, i get ajustments from chiropractor 1 every 2 weeks and I do stretches with a warm bath before i stretch for around 15 min. I stretch around 3 times a day with 30 second holds and walk as well to try and loosen up my back. Due to me stretching and stuff so often and consistently i have a lot of flexibility and dont really feel the stretches that i do anymore. I have a ball in the lower left side of my back and am struggling to make progress with it, besides the stretches shown and advice on how i can push past the wall ive hit on healing ? also ive been doing this for about 8 months.
