    Have you ever heard of someone having this issue with both legs? I have the issue with both, can't even hover them at all, but I don't feel it's "Weakness", just my brain not registering that I have to lift my leg up. If I pick them up with my hands and let go, they drop like a brick, it's like I have no control. If i am laid down on my side however, have no problems doing this same movement with both legs, just when seated. Docs looked at an MRI and said they see an Herniated disk, but they also said they see no reason as to why it would cause this. What do you think? I have no pain at all. I can walk fine, but my legs don't have any lift, for an example, I have to pick my legs up too to wash under my feet. So frustrated. The lower bending thing seems like it might be the way to go - I am praying. How long should I do this for you think?

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life 5 месяцев назад +3

      There are a few reasons why it might be happening in both legs. It could be the disc issue, although usually the L1, L2, and/or L3 nerve roots are the ones that would affect this movement depending on the location of the herniated disc. There are some other issues that cause proximal muscle weakness in the hips such as certain types of arthritis, or prolonged use of corticosteroid medications. Lying down on the side and doing the same movement takes gravity out of the equation, so yes, it does sound more like a muscle weakness issue. Here's an article that goes in-depth about the many possible causes: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10360994/#:~:text=Proximal%20myopathy%20presents%20as%20generalized,been%20attributed%20to%20its%20development.

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life 5 месяцев назад +2

      If you have a broke pelvis and need a prosthetic hip, that alone is enough to cause trouble lifting the leg. As far as exercises, I can't advise you specifically, but if you have broken bones, it's probably wise to wait until after the surgery. You'd have to ask you surgeon for more specifics based on your individual case.

    Left side of hip hurts upon getting in my vehicle

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life 3 месяца назад +1

      There are a lot of variables involved. If it's the left side of the left hip when lifting the leg to swing it in to the driver's side of the vehicle, some of the tips in this video might help. If it hurts when standing on the left leg to lift the right in, or stepping up into a taller vehicle, that would be a different issue.

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life 5 месяцев назад +2

      If there wasn't a sudden injury such as when running, it's less likely a hamstring issue. Sciatica from a pinched nerve in the lower back or pelvis, or an SI joint dysfunction would be the more common issues to cause those problems. But I can't tell you what it is in your case. You'd have to get it checked out by a healthcare professional. Here's our back pain and sciatica playlist which may give you some ideas in the meantime: ruclips.net/p/PLsxYq2xJHBAmbnaeQmTgz23Wop1IYbFfM Good luck!

    The problem for me is not the right leg but the left leg. It refuses to obey. To avoid pain on left leg I have to turn back from the steering wheel. This way the leg does not fold and hurt, then once the right leg in a small rotation allows me to slide and sit without pain, I have to grab my left leg in with my hands around it. Sometimes when I am on a bad day, I use a belt so I won’t have to exert too much pressure by bending over with my left leg caught into my hands. What can I do to get rid of the posture, the pain, the weakness, and strengthen my left leg muscles? It used to be my right leg that had sciatica pain, L5S2, but with shockwave therapy and chiropraxie the pain disappeared and I got full mobility back….for a couple of months. Then the sciatica pain got transferred to my left leg, with some cruralgia and piriformis syndrome as an unfortunate bonus. My right leg is fine now. Isn’t that weird? Please can you help with short advice? It’s been 2 years on and off with the help of physicians but very little PT.

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life 3 месяца назад +2

      The exercises in this video can be done for the left leg as well, but the left one the foot would go in the car before the knee if on the driver side (hip external rotation). As to what particularly YOU should do, it's hard to say without having examined it. If you haven't had PT though, you might want to consult with a PT in your area to get it examined.

    • @jadevinceul3433
      @jadevinceul3433 3 месяца назад +2

      @@More4Life Thank you sir for your advice ❤️. And yes you’re totally right. I have to enter my left leg before the knee.
      In fact what I do is to turn my back to the car/ the steering wheel and engage my leg by lifting it but in the back (It does not hurt at all this way). The right leg is already in. Once the leg engaged I can then rotate and slide in. Like in a kind of dance. That’s the only way I can do it without much pain, I discovered. And of course when I rotate I have to do it slowly and be careful not to hurt my knee, which is miraculously in a very good shape (fingers crossed).
      I will definitely ease up on the physician part and on the meds, and get serious about PT, like my physician and you suggest. I have stupidly postponed regular PT for so long because of the pain, and pain phobia. The nerve is blocking (full) motion and it hurts terribly by episodes. Just going to the PT brings tears to my eyes. But I should definitely trust my PT more and start on pain reducing therapy first (IR lamp, TENS machine, adapted light massage).
      Thanks for your care and videos. They give me hope that I can one day recover full mobility 😊

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life 3 месяца назад +2

      @jadevinceul3433 if you're fearful of PT because of the pain it causes, it may be time to find a new PT. Contrary to popular belief, PT shouldn't be painful. You should feel better when you leave the office... not worse.

    Hi Dr Dave I have a problem lifting my leg to get in the car, lifting it lying down and I feel pain in the front area where the front thigh and pelvic meet and in the middle side of the hip when I walk causing me to limp. They sent me to a neurologist first because they thought I had a slipped disc pinching the nerve, which was incorrect. So now they had me see a orthopedic for the hip. Then he gave me a cortisone shot toward the back of my hip. I still have extreme pain in the front of my leg and it's going on 4 months and no one is giving me the right answers.

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life 7 дней назад

      With that location of symptoms, hip osteoarthritis or a hip flexor problem are things that COULD cause front of hip/leg pain. However, you'd have to check with your doctors to see verify if it's either (or neither) of these. Here's a video that may give more insight. ruclips.net/video/A9ScKVO69iU/видео.html Good luck!
