Yeah, but what a year for Jim Carrey in 1994. I think 1994 through 1997, at least in the early to mid 1990s, were the best years for Jim Carrey, at least that’s my opinion. After LIAR LIAR, I sorta lost interest in Jim Carrey’s movies. I tried to watch but I couldn’t get into THE TRUMAN SHOW. I admit MAN ON THE MOON was interesting. And I definitely like ME, MYSELF, AND IRENE, as well as BRUCE ALMIGHTY. But the other films I couldn’t get into. Maybe I wanted him to act as those silly, quirky characters like he had before. But I know he wanted to venture and expand his acting talents, and probably most of all he didn’t want to be typecast as that particular kind of character. I remember really wanting to watch THE NUMBER 23 when it was advertised. But for some reason I hadn’t. Perhaps because I heard reviews that it wasn’t good. I still haven’t watched DUMB AND DUMBER TO.... Yes, he returned to the character of Lloyd Christmas. But for me I think it was 20 years too late. Had he did that one 10 years earlier(in 2004), then yeah, I definitely would have watched that one. I don’t know.... Perhaps one day I will see that movie.
Interestingly, Ace Ventura: Pet detective was written and directed by Steve Oedekerk, who would go on to write and direct the CGI animated Nickelodeon movie “Barnyard”, I guess Oedekerk always had a love for animals

One thing I always loved about how Carry did Ace is 95% of the time he was wacky and high on energy, which made the few times he slowed down to deliver a dramatic moment shine all the brighter. I'll never forget those two scenes: The first where he reads the newspaper article in the asylum storage and his voice goes all low and serious. And the second when he makes the call after visiting the Finkle family house "I'm in psychoville and FInkle's the mayor."
I still use what Ace said coming out of the bathroom when I use it "do not go in there!" LOL loved the animated series! need to get it & Mask cartoons on DVD

Yeah Minty, Ace Jr is available in Australia. JB HiFi have had for years. I used to work there and put it on the shelves myself. Although I never remember re-stocking it because no one ever bought it!
My love for Cannibal Corpse came from this movie. I remember in middle school, my teacher put this on when she was too lazy to teach us. As soon as I heard those 5 notes I started headbanging and everyone was starring at me like "... Dafuq?". I love both Ace Ventura movies, couldn't really get into the animated series. I didn't even hesitate to look at Ace Ventura Jr. Thanks for the vid, Minty!
Loved this movie, almost peed my pants many times. That scene when he is wearing the tutu and kneels down infront of that bench and slams his face down just killes me. One of the funniest people alive
I feel that Ace Ventura when Nature Calls it's actually better than the first. Ace actually goes through a growing spell. Also I found a much funnier then the first and a little more family-friendly.
This movie is special to me as I remember exactly where I was. Summer of '94. The Sunday before Army basic training graduation week at Ft. Benning, GA. The toughest and most rewarding part of my life up until that point. We had a bit of free time and they were showing this in the theater. My buddies and I had a great time laughing at his silly antics!! Therefore I call for a vote of no confidence in the movie industry to reboot this now classic work of clean comedy!
I disagree..."When Nature Calls" may be a "same old, same old", but for me it is a much better "same old, same old". It is the one of the 2, that I re-watch and quote the most.

What a banner year Jim Carrey had in 1994! *Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,* *The Mask,* and *Dumb & Dumber* came out in quick succession and all were huge hits. In fact, *Dumb & Dumber* was the sixth highest-grossing film of the year, *The Mask* was #9, and *Ace Ventura* was #17. So, he had two movies in the Top 10 and three in the Top 20. And to think he had been relatively unknown the previous year.
Dude!! I saw the deleted scenes on a TV version few years back and was so confused. I’m like I’ve seen this movie 1000 times I know every word but I’ve never seen this!
In 1999, I did an internship at a screen printing shop owned by producer James G. Robinson's son, Patrick, in Dundalk, Maryland located near the Dundall Marine Terminal. I helped design marketing materials for Morgan Creek Productions projects including "Chill Factor" and the animated version of "The King and I".
6:56 I'm pretty sure the German dolphin trainer scene was in, at least, the US theatrical version. Almost positive I remember seeing that scene in the theater when I first saw it.
I was 14years old, I discovered girls at the same time this movie hit theaters, so I asked 3 different girls to go, a blonde a brunette and a redhead, to my surprise they all said yes!, to there I am at the theater with 3 chicks lol, don't remember the movie much.
The original cracked me up! It still does whenever I come across it. It was Jim Carey at his funniest, And no, I had no idea there was an Ace Ventura, Jr. - and I plan to leave it that way.
No, I'm pretty sure that was an accurate depiction of how most guys would feel if they accidentally snogged a person who, in fact, does not have a gun digging into their hip.
Ken Hollis considering there are well documented cases of men going into a rage and beating the trans person they thought was a chick to death, crying and moaning like babies sounds reasonable by comparison.
I agree, more Steve Martin films please Minty, Planes, Trains and Automobiles just wasn't enough. As well as The Jerk you could look at The Three Amigos and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
I grew up on the Ace Ventura franchise. I wasn't too impressed with the third film, Ace Ventura Jr.: Pet Detective. I like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (Ace Ventura 1) Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (Ace Ventura 2) and the cartoon version of Ace Ventura. In the cartoon, Cartoon Ace's voice actor, Michael Hall, sounds exactly like Jim Carrey! Spot-on! Picture perfect! Hall did all of Jim Carrey's trademark Ace catchphrases such as "Alrighty, then!" and "Do NOT go in there! WHOO!".
Great movie, Quentin Tarantino movies are always great. I like to consider it his take on Taxi Driver or an homage to the film. Maybe a retelling or expounding on the story. Well his story anyway, he(Quetin) didn't direct it.

I still use what Ace said coming out of the bathroom when I use it "do not go in there!" LOL
loved the animated series!
need to get it & Mask cartoons on DVD
You need to go outside and talk to some adults
Back in the day, the group of people I hung out with.... you had to memorize this movie, and we even would do the Ace Ventura walk as we went to shop or just be out in public. Lot's of fun to be had, and still is to this day.
Omg Part 2 was hilarious and still makes me laugh my ass off. I would love another sequel but with Jim Carrey!
Maybe I'm crazy bu I liked the sequel more than the first one, I thought it was funnier.
jim carrey fits this role "like a glove"
Not just like a glove... like a glovah!
@@samanddeanfan2009 lmao I was trying to figure out how to spell it like that, you nailed it
Loved this movie, almost peed my pants many times.
"Guano Bowls"
"3 Darts is tooooooooo much"

"It's in the bone! It's in the bone!"
Who is this ghastly man?
Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.... and you must be the Monopoly guy! Thanks for the free parking!🤣🦇
Can you do one on Jim Carrey's ME, MYSELF & IRENE?
Funniest movie of all time. Like a glove.
Roberto Buatti that’s nature calls not pet detective
@@NicTheGreek84 No it was in Pet detective when he parked the car.
He also says like a glove in the sequel when he crashes the jeep and rolls it in between the two cars into the parking spot. So you're all right technically.
Heres the Like a Glove scene in the sequel
ruclips.net/video/YQ4V_-GY3PM/видео.html
And the Like a Glove scene from the original
ruclips.net/video/3nOxdKcqC_I/видео.html
I love both of the (main) Ace movies, but I actually favor the sequel.
The second one was vastly superior to the first, don't know why you thought it was stale.
Einhorn is a MAN!
DAMN that part was funny 😂💯
it's a shame they didn't call her Sheena ... because of Tone-Loc playing in that movie, that would have been a nice reference
Now now Einhorn is whatever they choose to identify with.
@@Joseph928100 well that's basically the twist of the film :-D
@@MickeyKnox I know lol I dont think that movie could be made in todays climate lol
Ave Ventura has become so much of a classic that on new year's Eve going into 2020 it was ran back to back as a marathon.
"Like a glove!"
6:56 I'm pretty sure the German dolphin trainer scene was in, at least, the US theatrical version. Almost positive I remember seeing that scene in the theater when I first saw it.
I agree I remember seeing the scene as well
I was 22 years old when I saw this in the theater upon release and I died laughing while sitting all alone in the theater.
Austin Kloud ...i was like 12
I was 14years old, I discovered girls at the same time this movie hit theaters, so I asked 3 different girls to go, a blonde a brunette and a redhead, to my surprise they all said yes!, to there I am at the theater with 3 chicks lol, don't remember the movie much.
The original cracked me up! It still does whenever I come across it. It was Jim Carey at his funniest,
And no, I had no idea there was an Ace Ventura, Jr. - and I plan to leave it that way.
Minty says stuff
Me: So blue .... so reflective
you can almost see the RT and IMDB research material
The guy's a comedic genius, love Carey. Thanks minty, superb as usual.
@@whoami6711 ? When did this happen
@@0532MOET It's happened more than once. Gwen Arajo is one example.
Yup. Perfectly normal to be grossed out by chix with dix, but we’re not allowed to say it.
The second one was actually the funnier movie, but I still like both of them...
we will have a remake soon staring dwayne johnson
Ughh I really hope they stop remaking movies
Oh dear, now that just ain't gonna work
Ugh I hope not
Would be funny to see The Rock as Ace giving everybody "The People's Elbow"
Or Sean Hart
Thanks for another great vid, Minty! I totally forgot about the cartoon but I do remember adoring it. Hope you're staying safe!
How about The Mask next?
Edit: Well, alrighty then!
Kris Will Code He's already done it and unless you don't have the DVD, most of it is common knowledge. Trust me, I know.
this was a re upload
Lmao, Minty, I too remember all the kids at my school doing Ace Ventura impressions! As well as the Mask & Dumb & Dumber, as well, lol!
Minty, when are you going to do the Jerk?
WHOO!".
Everybody knows that When Nature Calls is the best Ace Ventura film
Check out the JIm Carrey SNL family reunion skit lol! Awesome video as always and thank you for the entertainment!
When Nature calls was way different than the first one. I feel it was actually funnier.
Yep minty got it wrong it was better
I saw ace in a packed theater. The laughs were so loud. I have never experienced anything like it since.
Why have you not done a video on the greatest romantic movie ever? True Romance is one of the greatest movies of all time.
Watched it 3 times on VHS already this week
Great movie, Quentin Tarantino movies are always great. I like to consider it his take on Taxi Driver or an homage to the film. Maybe a retelling or expounding on the story. Well his story anyway, he(Quetin) didn't direct it.
@@chuckufarley7111 Ha. I've actually known someone with the name Chuck Farley.
Great work Minty! Love your stuff and you kind of look like a furless Muppet which is really enjoyable !
Saw this in the movies 😂💯
What a year for Jim Carry in 1994; Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber. Jeeeeez! 3 comedy hits, back to back to back.
I still find it cool how my initials, HDS, are in this film. 😂👏
Loved Ace Ventura, the Mask and Dumb and Dumber when I was a kid. Was a huge Jim Carrey fan in the 90's.
