I’ve got an Intel Xeon 2680 v4, which is on par with the i9 9900, paired with an RX 7600, and it’s been a dream setup. Every AAA game I throw at it runs flawlessly, no hiccups at all!
@@jponz85 I agree, I replaced my 1060 with the 2060S because the 1060 was strangled by it's 6 chip memory configuration. Where my 6 chip 1060 fell off the cliff after 3 years my 2060S(which uses the same GPU chip as a 2070 just with 128 cores burned out) is still rocking 4.5 years later. I'll replace it with a card that has at least 8 memory chips and with each chip twice the capacity.

I got a lot of adapters for $1 which cost me around $10 on Amazon for the same exact things. I have been tempted to try one of the case but was worried about breakage. After this I may order one for a flip.
In 2023 did several builds with the Ali Express Xeon/RAM combo boards + NvME SSD ... and back then could also pick up a RX580 8gb GPU (2048sp) on the cheap. So, could build a great budget gaming PC that could play everything (1080p Med). These combo boards are still very good for this purpose. Agree it's a hoot they can sell that case with ship for that low.
i got an i5-13600kf for 160 dollars, a 6600 for 170 dollars, and the trend keeps going- i just kept finding amazon used/refurbished(etc.). Have you guys done a video of buying just used items? Essentially turning a "mid-tier" (insert whatever you'd like to test here) to a extremely "cheap" setup. I got a monitor, mouse for cheap too. I know unnecessary but also running a 128GB Quad Channel DDR4 3200 ECC OC to Cl14 at 1.35v kit which I bought for $40 on ebay. Overall X99 is still a great gaming and workstation platform with lots of PCIe slots. Overall system cost was $650 with used 1200w seasonic psu and 2 x 2TB sk hynix NVMEs.
Based on your consistent use of Segotep PSUs (you sell them, I know), I pulled the rigger on a GM750W to power a 4790K / RX-580 8GB system. The extra power is in case I decide to try SLI or Crossfire, and also just because I don't see a reason to buy a PSU under 750W these days.

Also, my first upgrade is going to be a newer CPU, probably the 2145. I'm going to pair it with a Scepter 240hz monitor, Razer Viper Mini mouse, and Aula F75 keyboard.
Decent 1080P60 machine mate, it might struggle on the newest of demanding (unoptimised) AAA titles but overall very viable. RAM's a bit overkill unless you're doing video editing, though it's always nice knowing you're never going to need to upgrade.
@darthwiizius thank you! Yes, the guy I'm buying it from did put 64gb of ram in it (it was his old workstation), which does seem odd, but, it won't negatively affect the machine so I'm happy.

Depending on where you are and how much they cost, I would go for at least a 4070 Super (typically around $600 in the US)or 7900 GRE (typically around $530-550 in the US). 7900 GRE typically gets slightly better performance in terms of raw fps, and the 4070 Super has some features you’d miss out on with AMD (DLSS, better ray tracing, and better for gaming and streaming simultaneously).
