19:17 The reason the game was running bad is because something in the AMD 24.6.1 update messed up some performance on Fortnite. Had to go back to 24.5.1 to get stable performance on a rx 6700xt. hope this helps!
100% right. Still, in November, 10.5.1 is the last real stable release. I came to say this. That 6600 is capable of much better performance in Fortnite.

Yeah, if they actually did spend 500 and 750, then it would of been even better :) They skipped tax. Not even "ahh, its 505" or "Dang, its 755 with tax included" so it was a little over budget. They straight up went like 10% over budget or whatever it is in tax. They with that failed the challenge from the start 😅

Then you try to order a PC thats 497 pre tax, you aint getting it cause it will be to expensive. Not including tax is just straight up stupid. Just as stupid as people who brag about their salary pre tax. Always account for tax when its there and will affect you. Afterall, tax is a thing you cant discuss. It will always be there, no matter what.

@@hbirb I mean, its not that hard to add on the sales tax by simple math. The budget was 500 and 750. With the average sales tax (that I could find) of 6%. Then they needed to sit at 475 and 710. Give or take a few dollars. Wich is a fairly big diffrence and will make it a bit more of a challenge. As said, the diffrence here was an entier component. RAM was if not misstaken 30 bucks, the cases was also around there. So it makes a good diffrence to the entiet setup. I just see it as misleading and a failed challenge when you dont budget it properly. Like I said in previous comment. If you only have that amount, then you couldnt buy these setups. Thats the entier purpose of budget challenges. But lets see it like this, if your lets say student friend came and asked you for tips and maybe even a build setup they could get for the same money they would pay for a console. Your friend say that the price will be $800 with tax. Will you then go to $800 pre tax so your friend have to pay roughly 850 instead? Or would you use that budget to hit 800 with tax? I personally would go for 800 paid and done. Or as I have done before, if I go over, when it will make a significent diffrence, offer them the price diffrence on me 😂
So blessed to live less than an hour from one and have a tech industry in my area. I've found many places in the U.S don't have great deals on PC hardware and everything cost 2-3x what it should if you don't buy stuff online or at Best Buy. Microcenter is the best place to walk in and buy new gear hands down.
Yeah you’re pretty blessed, I live outside the us and eu and anything computer related has a 30% price increase here, like for example instead of paying 800 dollars for a rtx 4070 ti super id have to pay nearly 1100 dollars
i live in alaska but i was in denver recently and got to go to a micro center for the first time and it was amazing. i bought a couple things that i could have got online and not payed insane colorado sales tax because i want to support micro center.

The FPS should not be tied to a specific settings. The fun thing to do is play with video setting until you get the FPS limit and see all the sacrifices that were made to reach it! Great Video!
I've helped multiple people pick up parts for their pc and even recommend some laptops for them but I haven't even built my own pc, these ultra budget gaming pc builds helped me a lot
Fortnite on dx12 has to compile shaders in game after graphics driver updates or upon fresh installs causing super lag but usually gets better after a few games so the shaders are compiled
I built my wife her first entry level gaming PC with the ASRock ARC A770 and Ryzen 5700. I was truely blown away by this little engine that could GPU punching well above its weight class. I was playing Diablo 4 on high settings (with upscaling) in 4k with no issues.
If you're on a tight budget, used parts are the way to go. For $750 I'm pretty sure I could put together an am4 system with a rx6800 for a nice 1440p rig.
@@lds7104eva That's my point, the 4060 is garbage at $300. It loses to the 3060 in some games. You can get a brand new rx6800 for around $300, or $350. It will absolutely destroy the 4060 at everything.
The two setttings that you could change are in the installation settings for the game itself they are called pre download streamed assests and high resolution textures, also if you just did the drivers obviously play 3-4 before showing results. (if you plan to play on performance mode disable directx 12 shaders as well)

fort was using so much of your gpu because lumen/nanite was enabled. the normal high preset without lumen will literally run above 100fps without flaw 100% of the time
Since you spread positive content, recommend d adding to that. Go to the gym for 4 days a week MT W off TF SS off. Push pull split. And you’ll look better and feel better. Takes an hour or less to hit 2 work outs per muscle group for hypertrophy with a single warm up set. You got this. Don’t just game but raise your health and wealth.
They should make a Micro Center reality show staring Justin. Basically just him running around helping people and then also dealing with unruly customers.

Used just about every Arc card in my builds and they all rocked their price point waaaay above the competition. They only really lack High end, but its fine.
When running Direct X 12 (especially on Fortnite), you have to play a few games for shaders to load and cache. After about 2-3 games you should be good.
IMHO the $500 machine winds up being the better price-to-performance rig. AM4 will be relevant for another couple of years and a 32GB upgrade will really help that Arc card. I love Corsair and BeQuiet! cases, but the value on that Montech case is superb. This was a fun one!
They finally are putting a Micro Center in Florida but it's Miami just as far as Atlanta. If they only knew the amount fo money I woudl spend there they would put one here near Gainesville
My local Micro Center in St Davis, PA that I have been going to since 1997 or so Is so outdated compared to the newer (larger) stores. Glad they are still around in 2024.
Did you consider looking for refurbished parts at MicroCenter? I just pulled up their site and found a 3060 Ti for $250. You could have swapped some things around to make up the $60 difference over that 6600. That GPU wasn't up to the task.
I got better, the more I looked at that pre-built the more I hated it. It's ugly as hell to me, its all white minus 1 cord. It obliterated had 2 fans but the case comes pre-installed with 3. So they take one out to sell it. I upgraded to the 4090 and put it in the tower 200 black. It's about to play It's first game when I can map this Xbox controller. But anything to do with Microsoft/windows seems to just be a pain in the ass or just shit. I may return windows if I can or return the whole thing to get it re-built again with fresh parts and a different os installed. I can see why Playstation is selling more consoles because they have easier system and an actual customer support not just a ai bitch saying do it yourself here's a link.

One thing i did notice is that the price for RAM and Storage is insane in the US. We can get 16GB DDR4 kit in my country for around $48 USD (G.Skill 3600Mhz) and a 1TB nvme for $50 USD (Lexar M.2), all prices are inclusive for tax in my country
I know I can be hard on yall sometimes, but I truly do love yalls content. This was one of the my favorite videos in recent memory. That $500 intel gpu build looked amazing. Matts looked good too. Keep it up fellas! Also, Fortnite has been acting quite, says my daughter. That combo should have fortnite running at med/high settings (dx12) no lumen and getting above 100 fps. Maybe its still building shaders.
I’d really love to see something other than “budget build” Why not do some mid to upper range builds? Like best system you can buy for AAA titles. Best system for FPS. Best for MMO, etc. and not just “the cheapest rig that can run Fortnite”
19:17 it might be that the game is still saving the shaders, I think shader compilation is affected by the cpu, ram, and storage. So it might be the reason why it's taking a long time to compile the shaders.
Jumping on this comment to mention the exact same thing. Fortnite doesn't show that the shaders are still downloading. When you swap from dx11 to dx12 it will always stutter. New GPU or new drivers, stutter. I had stutter with a 7800x3d and a 4090 rog strix after I set it up for the first time. Letting the game sit for 30 minutes to an hour and then closing it out and restarting it will usually get rid of the stutter. Once its loaded and the shaders are good though it runs flawlessly. On directX11 performance mode with a 2070 I've seen 450 FPS. Hopefully they see your comment @hill2hell. Seeing the stuttering week after week is starting to hurt a bit.
Some people might wonder why there are very few air coolers at that Micro Center. I was there a week and a half ago and a sales rep told me it used to be mostly Deepcool stuff until it became illegal for businesses to sell Deepcool stuff. Kinda sucked so I had to buy a Noctua NH-U14 instead and swapped out the fan for one that matches my case fans.
Btw if you’re wondering what happened with Fortnite, the first game of Fortnite is always a little laggy. If you restarted your game after dropping in, I think the second game could have reached the targeted 90 fps

TSR and Lumen were killing that 6600. You could have definitely got away with 90+ FPS with high settings without the fancy lighting and upscaling.

You should go to the Micro Center in Royal Oak MI and do one of these challenges. The Royal Oak Micro Center is scarce of everything.
next time you do one of these wheel spin challenges, one of the modifiers should be that you have to account for sales tax in the budget.

I just got a powerspec g907 for my first gaming PC. It has a ryzen 7950x3d and a 7900xtx white tachi edition.

Honestly at that pricepoint it makes much more sense to buy some parts used, that way you can get a better machine for the same money
grab from Aliexpress, china gaming motherboard, intel xeon and ecc ram...can play terrific games and save a lot of money

Some people might wonder why there are very few air coolers at that Micro Center. I was there a week and a half ago and a sales rep told me it used to be mostly Deepcool stuff until it became illegal for businesses to sell Deepcool stuff. Kinda sucked so I had to buy a Noctua NH-U14 instead and swapped out the fan for one that matches my case fans.
Watching these deals while living in Europe is self harm

Btw if you’re wondering what happened with Fortnite, the first game of Fortnite is always a little laggy. If you restarted your game after dropping in, I think the second game could have reached the targeted 90 fps
