@kevinsho2601 till you dropped it or the inner screen died suddenly without reason. This is coming from me using fold 4 with 2 free replacement so far from 2 years samsung care. Anyway still loving my fold though.
@@lucern543 That's another reason why having a full sized outer display is a good thing. If the inner display breaks, you still have a fully functional flagship device using the outer screen.

You were always the best at this segment, namely the foldables but I know how much disdain you have for Samsung and thier unwillingness to compete directly with the Chinese foldables. Yet, you were able to present a very positive, fair and impartial, honest first impressions review. A pleasant surprise, indeed and it shows you take your work seriously and will always give you best objective opinion. So we all win. For this I salute you..

That crafted black looks so good, i went with the white one but now.kind of wish i hadnt lol. Im also pleasantly surprised im able to actually text on the outer screen finally. It feels alot wider than what it says on paper. The lighter weight compared to the 5 is absolutely noticeable in hand as well. 100% agree about the crease and that was a surprise...as you said no other reviewers really mentioned it. All that side im really looking forward to your hands on with the V3 and mix fold 4!
@ctrl4969 EE. I Kept hearing that the phones don't come with spen. I also forgot to ask when I was upgrading so the fact it turned up with a spen, plus a case with pen holder was a nice surprise. .
I feel like you have teleported into my head as I have the same genuine frustrations, as a Scamsung fanboy I have used Samsung since the S2, and all the Note lineups, I change my phone every year and as a current S24U user I still cant understand why they cant make the Z series comparable to S Ultra series??? I love the Z fold 6 its a great device but its still too small as a cover and still no pen support on cover, same small batteries and same cameras, the design is perfect, make it a 6.5" cover, built in pen that works on both screens, S23/24 ultra cameras at minimum and we will have the perfect fold for sure.Cmon Scamsung do it with the Fold 7 or the Fold Ultra if its still coming????
You're my favorite reviewer on RUclips for foldable phones. I appreciate how blunt yet honest you are in your reviews. When you bash a product it's legitimate because you know what the competition is offering. I also like that you focus more on usability rather than on technicals alone which most other reviewers are stuck on. Keep it up. We needed someone like you out there to bring these differences together and to make our choice to buy one of these much easier. God Bless!
The outer screen is why i continually pick the zfold. One hand use is the biggest priority for me and its a dream to use. And its so well balanced in the hand. When i first got the zfold 5 i was bothered by the weight but i did get use to it quickly.
Nice to see it suprised you in a good way in some areas, but also appreciate the usually honesty on all the crap Samsung does too. I think you're the first reviewer who hasn't just said the crease is the exact same or almost an unnoticeable change!
Because I think the narrower cover screen is not a matter of technology but a real position Samsung wants to keep. They don't want it to be similar to a normal smartphone I guess and stick to a logic where the first screen can be used fully using one hand, efficient and quick. While the inner screen is for the full smartphone/Tablet experience. This is how I see it. That's why I don't consider it to be something that has to be "corrected", it's either you prefer this narrower format or not
@@scarosboy2332 I agree, it's Samsung's vision of how a foldable should be used. But in reality it a matter of how the individual actually uses a foldable. I use my external display maybe 80% of the time during a day while out on the move for most functionality. Only about 20% of the time I use it unfolded, for reading certain documents or spreadsheets. There's also no better way to view photos than on the larger inner display. So not wanting to compromise on my experience, a full ratio outer display is the best option for me. The reverse is true for someone who intends to use the inner display more frequently. Different usage scenarios require different designs. The Chinese companies idea of how the foldable is used suits me better than Samsungs.
@@scarosboy2332 I have to agree. Making the front wider would make a lot of people not open the phone as much, which using the main screen is what they really want people to do. But ngl, I'd still like a wider front screen lol.
Good honest review highlighting the positive aspects of the Samsung z fold 6. Let's not underestimate the software advantages of this phone, such as properly functional two horizontal apps which the Vivo xfold 3 pro cannot do for more than a handful of apps. There should not be limitations to multi window modes, only Samsung has this fully working.
Great video as always. But I saw the crease throughout this video. And it's harder to see on the other fold that you review. So I still can't give them a pass on the crease. But it definitely looks like it feels amazing in the hand I only got to hold it partially at AT&t store.
How do you like this phone compared to the Huawei Mate X5? I am moving to China soon and need a new phone (thanks apple for removing real SIM cards on US iPhones), and was wondering if the Mate X5 was still worth it (or waiting for Mate X6) as compared to the newer foldables you’ve reviewed since then? I don’t use google apps much, and plan to keep this phone as my main business/personal phone while being in China, so it will be mainly used with the Chinese keyboard and native Chinese apps.
Two items which help justify the price that you didn't mention: DEX and the S Pen. These are things that other foldables don't have. I use DEX every single day and it is worth hundreds. Also, in defense of Samsung. They did all the initial research & development for foldables. The first 5 versions started at $1800. Can you name anything else in our world that costs that much and has only increased 5% over a 6 year period? That is kind of amazing.
Maybe its just one hell of an optical illusion, but when I hold my old Z Fold 5 side-by-side with my new Z Fold 6 the cover display seems quite a bit better.
Thanks for your honest review. I just ordered my Fold 6 today. I didn't know creators get discounts on phones. I live in the USA, do you know if reviewers here get creator discounts too? How does that even work?
I would absolutely love to see a bend test between the fold 6 and honor magic v3..... If the v3 survives the bend test I will put my order through straight away.
Pre-buy should have had an S-pen and case included for free. A charging brick sbould be also included. But the phone is impressive unless you can afford or are blessed to own or use the newer foldables out there to compare to. The last fold I used was the Samsung Fold 3 which I returned after a couple of days. Too heavy and bulky. I did get the flip version which I've been using since but upgraded with each new flip Samsung put out. This year I tried the fold again and will continue to use fold's from now on. Weight and bulk are not issues anymore. And price is only a factor if you don't have a newer trade to trade in when compared to other flagships. One year is all I care to keep a phone anymore. This is the best phone I've used. Happy with it and glad I upgraded to Fold tbis year.
Tried it at the store and it's still not thin or wide enough the outer screen went from 5.7cm on the Fold 4 and 5 to 6cm on the Fold 6 which is not enough at all. The Honor Magic V2 and V3 for example have a 6.6cm outer screen and around mid 9cm thickness which makes the phone very usable without needing to open it at all. You can also put a case on without making the phone feel as thick as a brick. Also the charging the batteries and the cameras many other specs on the Fold 6 are the same as the Fold 4!! That's what's killing me about this release. Coming from the Fold 4 it's like I'm buying the same phone twice. That's why I went with the Honor Magic V3 instead and won't buy a Samsung again until they make the outer screen and thickness usable.
Forgot to mention the crazy price compared to Chinese foldables too. Samsung is asking for $2000 for this 2+ year old hardware while chinese devices are much more reasonably priced and leagues more advanced! Unreal!
@helterskelzer3883 sorry but it's very very similar. I have the Fold 4 and ordered the Fold 6, then canceled after trying it. Exactly same cameras. Same narrow front screen (3 mm wider is nothing). Same battery size. Same charging speed. Still thick compared to Honor and Xiaomi. The screens look the same, the Fold 6 is a tad brighter. Also, most of the AI features are coming to Fold 4. The Magic V3 is leagues better than the Fold 6 in terms of hardware.
Lmao the same for me, if he would have said coming from a Z fold 5 I would have consider his message but still could argue some of what he said, but from a Z fold 4 lmao it is a completely different phone once in hand, you really directly can tell which one is 2 years older than the other

It actually does like noticeably better from my fold 3, at least in the video. However I doubt it will be comfortable to type on the front display with my big hands!

Just got the z fold 6. It's a great device. I love Samsung. However I have the Vivo Fold 3 pro as well and the size difference vs the Samsung is big. Z fold 6 is much smaller. If Samsung made the hardware like the Vivo they'd be very hard to beat. Not sure why they haven't done it. I'm trading in the s24 ultra for the z fold 6. I have the china rom version of the x fold 3 pro. Kinda wish I held out for the global version. The Chinese text and work arounds are a little annoying.
Agree with that they should make a bigger battery, faster both wired and wireless charging, better camera and thinner phone.. But I really don't hope they make it physically bigger outside screen, it's perfect sized now for one hand use. I like that all the foldable outside screen not the same size, that will be boring.. For me kinda egotistical I like that the s pen isn't built in, cuz it would mean it has to be larger and a bit heavier. Think the fold 7 will get some major hardware improvements. 🎉❤
My fold 6 is as wide as the hinge on my fold 4 and much lighter so a big upgrade for me. Might still induldge in the honour v3 when it goes global though.
£2100???? I'll stick with my HONOR Magic V2 chap!! {Edit} I'm sorry, I had to take a step back after seeing this. I'm originally an iPhone user, for the past five years. Maybe less, but I've lost count tbh. In June 24, I changed my attitude and love towards the Honor v2! I @&cking love this phone! I really do. It does everything I used to do on my iPhone, but now... It's transformed. Music, well I still have access to my iTunes account. I can play almost every game that exists on iPhone, and I'll be honest, I didn't sell the iPhone. I still use it for accounts and passwords. But my Honor Magic v2, is awesome!! Happy days!!
Im telling you , you have to try the s pen AI sketch to image feature very cool but indeed i agree 100% on hardware they have work to do until i consider it
Biggest problem for me is it charges slowly, drains fast and overheats easily. Will update if this changes with use. I dont see a full day of usage happening, maybe an 8 hour work day.
I think they gen3 is just a overstocked and overheated gen3 mostly. EVERY gen3 phone overheats. I'd rather have the gen2 with 16gb ram, than gen3 with 12gb.

All fair and objective points! I do think you're low balling the value a little bit though. I think $1,200-1,300 would be fair for the base model and about $1,800 for the 1tb. That would put it in line with the OnePlus Open and make it a lot easier to recommend! But as of now the Open is the one I recommend for most people that just want a foldable with AA and smart watch connectivity. And I'm saying that as someone that loves my Zfold 5 and OneUI.

💡Samsung's phone dimensions and thickness are totally unacceptable in 2024 or even before,Samsung is too late with hardware for folded phones, because the external screen dimensions is so bad and Thickness is like two phones sticking together 🤦🏻, With the large thickness, there is no breathing room to put a case for the phone, It will become an absolute disaster as if you were carrying a brick with your hand and a very thick and ugly shape.

S pen should be built in. However other foldables have pen compatibility and also missing a trick by not including one. The Honor Magic 2 with a built-in stylus and slightly smaller battery would have been awesome.
One thing i will never understand is samsungs so called sustainability spiel. How is it more sustainable to have to go buy a seperate charger, with the extra platic or box outer packaging, then the extra box that the charger comes in. Then the same extra 2 bags or boxes for the pen. Then the same extra 2 bags or boxes for the case. How the h**l is this even spun as sustainable? The pen should have been put into the phone years ago. They should have kept the charger in the box. They should have upped the charging watts long ago. also shouldnt be conning people on the price. In every aspect samsung should be way in front of other brands considering they produced a foldable phone first. But samsung have sat at the top and gotten way too comfortable and tbh have conned people into beleiving theyre getting a better product every year when there not, not really. The biggest con samsung are running is their sustainability rubbish. You would save way more cardboard or plastic putting all accessories in with the phone. I'll be waiting on the honor v3/vivo because thats where samsung should be by now and they are managing to bring them out at a fair price not a rediculous £2,000. Shame on you samsung.

Sorry if I missed it, but how are the fingerprints on the glossy back?
it is textured so pretty good at resisting
@@AverageDadOfficial thanks!
Do you know if the Fold 6 Ultra is still on the cards? maybe that will get the better specs....
i do... October
I don't even want to think about the price for this one. $2900?
If only it has the spen compartment like the s24 ultra which i currently have, the foldable with spen would do god works on my multitasking!
it mightnmake it thicker. also the toothpick is not exactly comfortable to hold...wish the outer screen woukd work too
Would it be a notable upgrade coming from a S22 ultra? regarding battery? would love Samsung to upgrade the cameras to s24ultra standard s-pen held within itself, IR blaster and bigger battery also like xiaomi type 2nd space feature in the software. also used to love the FM/AM radio built in on the older versions.
I have the Fold 6 and the battery drains fast, admittedly that was/is 12 hours after set up, but I was down 25% in 2 hours
@onceafiend thanks for reply appreciate it
can you actually buy the vivo in europe?
Tbh Samsung fold 6 all day the software is amazing on gold series.
no
Waterproof like the Vivo?
more waterproof and dust resistance
Appreciate this fair review sir. You could have just dawged it, but you gave credit where it's due. Although you disagree with Samsung, you were still fair.
Thanks mate
@@AverageDadOfficial all love. Thank you for your hard work sir.
I'll watch this in my AM
Nice 💯 information,, what is the best foldable right now please tell me...
x fold 3 pro global
@@AverageDadOfficial God 🙏💯 bless I will get it.. because you are very honest man,, thanks 🙏

That's a great review. The price is insane. And you're other points are very well made.
Thanks!
I dont think price is insane with samsung deals Who pays full price
Just got the z fold 6. It's a great device. I love Samsung. However I have the Vivo Fold 3 pro as well and the size difference vs the Samsung is big. Z fold 6 is much smaller. If Samsung made the hardware like the Vivo they'd be very hard to beat. Not sure why they haven't done it. I'm trading in the s24 ultra for the z fold 6. I have the china rom version of the x fold 3 pro. Kinda wish I held out for the global version. The Chinese text and work arounds are a little annoying.
Because there taking the money honey. Every 3rd year the best as may change by then. Mobile to buy!
Z is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee' - please please don't Americanise! Good honest review.
My fold 6 is as wide as the hinge on my fold 4 and much lighter so a big upgrade for me. Might still induldge in the honour v3 when it goes global though.
I am glad i didn't choose the exclusive black carbon fiber. Looks tacky and cheap lol. Anyways can't wait to get mines July 23rd
If money was no object... Purely on functionality and usability... Out of all the foldables which would you pick as a daily phone?
This one I just got it and i love it🎉
X fold 3 pro global
@@AverageDadOfficialcould you explain why the Global is worth $600+ over the Chinese version please?
I feel like you were soft on them because of that juicy creator discount.
haha! did you see the end? i called it the worst fold of 2024, thickest, heaviest, most expensive... yeah, i was super soft lol
Vivo x fold 3 pro is still the beast hands down, unless oppo and Huawei are gonna surprise us before the ending of 2024
We say Zed in the UK not Zee.
I have a S 24 ULTRA BUT Z FOLD 6 IS TO EXPENSIVE !!!!
Im telling you , you have to try the s pen AI sketch to image feature very cool but indeed i agree 100% on hardware they have work to do until i consider it
Honestly, it looks cool. But after the first few months, are you really going to use it?
Biggest problem for me is it charges slowly, drains fast and overheats easily. Will update if this changes with use. I dont see a full day of usage happening, maybe an 8 hour work day.
I think they gen3 is just a overstocked and overheated gen3 mostly. EVERY gen3 phone overheats.
I'd rather have the gen2 with 16gb ram, than gen3 with 12gb.
Fd 6 nicer in the flesh, i noticed the crease is on par with others too.
@@barriemoorcroft534damn me too. i am sick of those overheating chips...8 gen 1 was a disaster
It's still too thick IMO. AND i want it at 8 inches or larger.
agree
@@AverageDadOfficial That's what she said
I was looking for a carbon effect...you should have bought the carbon one... lol
there is no carbon one dummy
honor magic v3
Good mic and sound treated room with 27k subs? 😂
haha thanks! dude has 1.3m subs and can't get a mic!
Average dad are you selling it after you are done reviewing it? I might be intressted

Apparently it's a new ultra wide lense whoopy do 😂..
❤❤❤❤ SCHAF CORNER FROM SAMSUNG ❤❤❤❤ S 24 ULTRA FOR CAMERA FOR S PEN FOR SCHARF DISPLAY ........Z FOLD IS TO EXPENSIVE
IS TO SMOLL !!!! LOVE THE SISTEM APP BUT NO S-PEN NO TITAN NO CAMERA NO BATERY NO ........LOVE SAMSUNG BUT I HAVE TO WHAIT Z FOLD 10
Sorry for the inconvenience, but my phone isn't behaving properly. Do you have any good phones for sale that fall within my budget of £500?
Oneplus 12 is close to that price

@AverageDadOfficial, I have faith in your knowledge. We are closing a deal on the 26th of this month. Please advise me on what steps I should take.
design & no design/change &no change : just look so plane old look ,thick & small front screen ,no matter how fantastic people put it . Price got higher than any other capable phone which Samsung hope others don't know .Wonder why people would choose Sam ,unless a Apple /sam fan.but sure there are gimmick sofeware people may like .
i am no samsung knight but when a phone changes its dimensions all over... this is called a design change..... dummy
And I'm saying that as someone that loves my Zfold 5 and OneUI.
that is what i said... do a currency check on GBP to dollars lol
@@AverageDadOfficial fair enough 😅
We would have had better foldables by now if Apple had copied Samsung and released a fold. Competition from the Chinese and Google is not good enough.
why would they charge £1050 for 256gb when that's less than the S24 Ultra? Ridiculous statement! £1400 or so yes!
because the S24 ultra is the flagship phone you fucking dummy!
@@AverageDadOfficial haha this is a prime example of why your channel will never grow! Poor content and aggressive to viewers!
And the Z Fold is a premium phone and costs more to make than the S phones, and is a phone/tablet so of course it’s going to cost more to buy. They are hardly going to sell it for less than a slab phone are they! who’s the dummy now?
yeah i agree, foldable phones cost more to make. People and I also want a bigger battery, included s pen slot, same camera module as s24 ultra, bigger screen size and displays as big as s24 ultra also but at what price ? 3000e ?
Samsung became Apple in regards to foldable phones smh. One plus thank you, and I can't wait for others to compete. Google stop playing lol
There is no phone that lasts more than a day for me, guess all the apps I have
Tye Vivo X Fold 3 Pro with it's 5700mah battery will last your usage.
lol, you have tried how may? only pass comment when you actually use a device
Hey, man, you kinda need to work on not swallowing. While talking every second , it will improve your video qualities
Fair and Balanced AD. Still loving my X Fold 3
Thanks!
@@AverageDadOfficial if the price not an issue which you recommend fold 6 or magic v3
@@AverageDadOfficial 👊
Same critiques I had last yr. There is no spen support on the front display. Still too narrow. If you don't care about the spen support or samsung application, for sure, go for vivo, xioami, or oneplus folds. I did get it because of my samsung credits and trad in
Problem with Samsung always on display u leave it on say 6 hrs sleep at full charge it's down to 90 percent the vivo is 99 percent for 6 hrs always on display still hate Samsung
I still wish you Good luck with your channel !
since you also banished me for giving some honest truths that says something. No hard feelings though.
trusr me, if i remove you... it is not for honest feedback! just be kind and we will all get along fine
@@AverageDadOfficial you already did since my primary account is Joe Gillian fyi.
My disagreement was that i cannot remember last time i paid full price for Samsung products...because they offer promo codes, discount codes,trade-in.
So honestly i dont mind the price i paid for Fold 6 512Go
No biggie though.
Have a Nice day
Way too expensive conpared to the chinese ones
💡Samsung's phone dimensions and thickness are totally unacceptable in 2024 or even before,Samsung is too late with hardware for folded phones, because the external screen dimensions is so bad and Thickness is like two phones sticking together 🤦🏻, With the large thickness, there is no breathing room to put a case for the phone, It will become an absolute disaster as if you were carrying a brick with your hand and a very thick and ugly shape.
I have the Samsung S pen case it doesn't change the dimensions by much at all. It's still thick even without the case but not much changes
@@donniethesportsguy893 Honner Company has the strongest protection currently in the market, not only for folded phones also All its phones have nano crystal screen protection that makes them Hard to break , Check out their latest Honor Magic V3 tests
S pen should be built in. However other foldables have pen compatibility and also missing a trick by not including one.
The Honor Magic 2 with a built-in stylus and slightly smaller battery would have been awesome.
Seems they have good software with the Ai
You tripping 😅waaaay better than the others I love mine
