I daily two phones. Work and personal. Personal Sim card will go into Fold, but the iPhone will never leave me. It'll take my work Sim. iPhone for work, Android for fun.
Iphone = usa , samsung = freedom
I daily drive a samsung A25
For me it is the other way around.
Fold is a productivity king and should be used for work primarily. My opinion

That's actually false to claim it's dust resistant.. It's closer to it, but not fully dust resistant.
@@rohiin yeah. Just ip48, but we are talking about foldable. This is the only phone even have some level of resistance (around 1mm) among foldable. Which is commendable

I agree. The only way its close to worth it is with their trade-in and pre-order offers. They are offering up to $1200 for trade-ins, which is pretty damn good. The 12 Pro Max, which is a 4 year old phone now, is getting $800 trade-in value. If I trade in my Fold 4 and use the pre-order discount, I could get the Fold 6 for $799.99. But I'll wait for next year.

Not really. Samsung has high trade in offers and they also give you extra discounts every year. If you trade in the most recent fold, S series or iPhone then it only cost $599. If you have phone 1 year older like fold 4 or previous iPhone etc... then it's about the same because they give you extra credit. Trading in fold 4 and getting the 1TB fold 6, it cost me $$719
Go look up the price for a flagship smartphone and tablet.

Thanks for the video Sam! Your summary and reasons for why the Fold 6 form factor is near perfect, is completely spot on in my opinion. I've had the 4 and 5 since leaving the Samsung S22U as its so wide and uncomfortable. The Fold 6 now looks even nicer to daily wth these incremenetal updates - thanks for reaffirming my decision to pre-order!
Your channel is so refreshing
I'm really thankful that someone who reviewed the phone has the same sentiments that I do. It has a small screen and large screen mode. Though not literally stated, it is ostensibly made with a one hand and two hand mode. Making the folded screen massive makes it hard to use one handed for the times where you'd want that. I think the Fold 6 strikes a pretty good balance. All the other foldable phones basically requires you to use two hands both folded and unfolded, which defeats part of the purpose, at least for me.
Edit: And of course, as you said, it would further remove one more of those differentiating factors from the other foldables.

I totally agree with keeping the one-handed skinny size when folded. If I want a slab phone I would get that (or simply flip it open).
I agree. Make the bexels a lil thinner but keep the narrow form it has right now. That phone felt perfect in my hands

I returned the S24 Ultra I bought a few days ago because I knew I wanted to wait for the Fold 6, and that was a good decision. I saw the demos today and it's incredibly beautiful and built.

I was thinking of getting to iPhone 16 Pro Max upgrading from iPhone 14 Pro Max but now I'm 100% looking into this phone because of the video. Dust resistance is super reassuring!
Only thing is the width of the cover screen, would need to go into a store and test it, got big hands and they also cramp up if my hand is in an awkward position so may not be usable for me 😂

This is an awesome device, but going back to your video on why you can't leave the iPhone for an Android device, your main complaints weren't actually about the hardware, but the software.
Curious to see how/if/when this changes, but since it's not Samsung's fault that the apps are shitty, they are still at a disadvantage. App developers need to up their game.

Good point. I carry two phones. iPhone will always be in one of my pockets. It’ll just be my second phone whilst fold becomes my main sim. Literally can’t work without iPhone.

Thank you for mentioning how modern phones can be too wide, I loved the Note phones, but they got too wide. As a Fold 4 user for the past two years, I feel like Fold phones are perfect, and the external screen is the perfect width for one hand use. The internal screen is perfect for multitasking and opening documents. Plus, the folded "candy bar" width actually makes the phone feel great in the hand. Im happy they optimized the internal and external screens by making them slightly wider, yet not as wide as modern phones. It was also great to see your passion and honest opinion! Subscribed!
Z Fold 6 is definetely peak fold design! And I agree about the narrow cover screen, Samsung nailed it with Fold 6 and I also wish it won't change soon.

I have a Fold 3 and the narrow outer screen is why I probably won't get another Samsung Fold. While the screen is great for one handed browsing of the web, firing a quick text, and using as a viewfinder...that's all it really is useful for. The aspect ratio of the outer screen means it isn't suitable for watching video or playing games, native or emulation. Even beyond that to do most things you have to open the phone. To me the outer screen should be as useable as the inner one and in the case of the Samsung Z Fold line, it simply isn't.

Pre ordered mine I have been using Fold for a few generations in regards to the front screen yes it looks use full but try spending some time typing on it you will understand. The biggest issue I find is the optimisation of non-standard apps, a majority are still not optimised for foldable phones. Even with 3 modes scaling doesn't pick that properly. On first or 2nd gen foldable its understandable but we are at 6th gen and still no where if this gets better otherwise next year i might just go back to normal phones.
Yes you have bigger screen but 40% are just black bars and when you zoom in it cuts few bits it still feels you are the tester after years of device being available and paying a premium, cameras are still same, batter still same, pen still same issue.
Front screen is the only reason i upgraded lets see.

I went from iPhone to Samsung Fold 5, after 6 months I returned the Fold 5 and went back to the iPhone. It’s the user experience, I found that typing on the Fold 5 when it is not folded is a very very frustrating experience. I keep telling myself it will get better but it doesn’t. Don’t get me wrong I love it when it is unfolded and I can watch on a bigger screen etc. But it’s those moment when I have to quickly reply to a sms or email and I am in crowded spaces like public transport that makes the Fold 5 frustrating. The final nail in the coffin was when the software update causes the speaker 🔊 to go dead and I couldn’t hear someone calling.
I don't think a bigger outer screen on the fold would be bad. One plus did an awesome job of this. Most people will use the phone probably closed when on the go unless either at home or if they have a few min to kill.
The inner display seems huge in the video, but to me it felt more like an iPad Mini. Perfect size to watch something on a long commute if you don't want to carry the iPad. The outer display isn't perfect for most content, but most movies and shows are recorded in 21:9 so its perfect for them. I had played around with the fold5 and the outer display is thin enough that you can reach the top without losing grip in your palm without dropping it. This phone is probably the best out there for content consumption imo.
