I have to say, after watching your channel for years, I genuinely think you might be the best in the world at explaining travel video concepts to beginners. What you have achieved through your body of work is genuinely remarkable. As an educator, I appreciate the talent that goes into not only mastering these concepts, but also teaching them to other people.
I was about to make an online travel vlogging course purchase. But after watching this, I decided to learn for free on RUclips. I got what i need for a start. Very informative, thank you.
I found this incredibly helpful at the start. The idea of affectively having an idea of a storyboard was a priceless bit of advice so thank you for your help.
I really like how you broke down the story telling, I appreciate what you have provided and would love to see more videos with longer vlog style tutorials, cheers mate!
Thank you for sharing your ideas. I was looking for some great advice for an upcoming trip and your video was spot on. I liked how you said we should take videos to tell a story. So much better than pasting together a bunch of random shots.
Thank you for this video! 😊 0:35 step 1 ~ select your shoots around the story 1:56 step 2 ~ shoot for flow (where you are now, continous thinking how you're going to arrive where you going to arrive) 4:18 Step 3 ~ Let the song dictate the structure of your video I always slap on my song after editing the video 🤦🏻♀️ bad habit! I need to change. Also i tend to put in too many clips at the front half of video, loop my song then rush thru after the mid to end of video cos i didnt do step 3 😁
This is by far the best tutorial on making a vlog video answered all my questions so thanks for that! Question regarding music... What words do you you to find the music. Sometimes I have a rough idea on the style of music I want but I cant always find excatly what im wanting.... Any tips on that?
Love your work and clear direction. I always struggle to actually film. Once I get somewhere I just stay in the moment and tell myself I'll film later. Plus, the wife hate me filming her. Hahaha
Something about this particular video hit home. A “click” moment. I went to France and basically made a montage and didn’t understand why there was no story lol thank you
I’m that beginner you talk about in this video. I have 1/2tb of footage and can’t really find a way to put it together to make a decent video. Do you have any advice on how to do it or should I leave it alone and plan better next time. Thanks
I wonder why you have less view in this to the point post! It was great. Have seen a lot of people do that blah blah blah thing just to waist your time but you have done a good job here. Thanks
Hi Thomas, thank you for the video. Last night I literally applied that step 3 of your tips. My choice of track literally fit my edits. But, somehow TikTok (where I uploaded it) muted it for some reason I can't understand, maybe copyrights. But I thought I edited the track modestly, lower the volume, give fade in and out, not using the entire track, but I still got muted. Can you give any tips on passing the sound copyright issues ?
I’ve been traveling alot and taking amazing photos and videos of the places. I want to start my you tube traveling channel but not sure how to start. Your video is helping me a-lot . I need to watch it again and take notes! Thank you
Very helpful! I've noticed when working with a editor that they plan the soundtrack first, and it's exactly because of everything you listed on step three. Thank you!
Guilty . i am 100% Guilty of not editing clips to the beat of a sound .... but its one I'm trying to focus on cheers for this going to give this a test out on the weekend
For someone who really enjoys being in the present as much as possible, it does! But, we’re all different. when I started vlogging I realized I was on my phone more than I was enjoying what i was recording. Me personally, it takes aware from the experience.

"5TB of footage that you'll never edit" that landed so hard, I'm dying dude.😂
Nice! Straight to the point. Value-added production and no promotions.

Was in Bali in the 90s. What a dump it was then. 😂 Beautiful nature and the people were amazing. But definitely doesn't look like the Bali of today.
been binging a bunch of your videos...seeing the great Chelsea creator George benson was a nice surprise
Yeah the Bali series with George was good times!
Good video
What do you film with
because of your video i just hit the "S" button

How doesn't this video have more views?

OMG this sounds like a full time job … I rather take care of outsourcing business while travelling for myself … 😮
So good I watched it twice! Gems in here and also a confirmation of things I've adapted into my style. Thank you Thomas! 👋🇨🇦
Awesome.
Does it take away from experiencing the actual vacation?

if you will be thinking like that all your vacation will be as a work week. its wrong
