I purchased an Udemy course just for this but what i learnt in your 15 minutes video is more valuable than the entire 2 hr course. Really appreciate your efforts and time you spent to teach us newbies. Thanks !! 🙏
Agree with all but would add, so it's not forgotten, that Chris Marker's travelogue "Sans Soleil" uses the opposite philosophy and is considered one of the greatest film travel docus ever made.
I agree; a lot of videos I’ve made, especially for gigs, was done without planning. I learned how to be quick on my feet and with my camera and how to adapt to experiencing spontaneous events
I'm trying to learn travel video making from many months but this is a hidden gem for me i learnt most basic and important lessons form this video. Thank you for making this type of content for us.
I've been actively watching this video for well over an hour now and still have not finished it. Well done my good sir. You have loaded this video with a high density of relevant information. I have taken a lot away from this, and for that you now have one new dedicated subscriber.
Pascal, I must’ve watched 20 of your videos already and I’m amazed I hadn’t discovered this one. I appreciate how you explain even the most complex stuff in simple ways yet made time to show how to do a transition as well. Good point at the end about focusing on storytelling if your editing isn’t good enough yet. Great video!
I'm not a photographer or a pro video maker but I love making video of my outdoor activities with my friends but had no idea how to make a nice looking video and your video really helps. Can't wait for more knowledge from you 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Pascal! One thing your video made clear to me was the continual shooting point. I shot a lot of continual video last year while traveling without realizing later how much of it would be unusable because of all the movement. I've gotten much better on that.
@@AnthonyIakona Thanks Anthony, what specific would you like to know about FCPX? There are already many tutorials on FCPX out there that cover all I can think of. So if I make a tutorial, I want to add something new if that's still possible haha.
Hi Pascal, I have learned a lot from your videos recently, working on to start my own travel channel, Thanks a lot!! Recently, I was facing some issue with the frame rate, sometimes we shoot at higher frame rates to slow it down later but then later decide to ramp it up which leaves us with a uneven video that doesn't look good, any advice on that? How to ramp up a high FPS video?
Hey Pascal :) I can really see that you put a lot of Effort into this Tutorial! I'm watching most of your Tutorials and this has been the best yet imo regarding Quality of the Visuals and the Information you gave. Definitely one of the best Videos for learning how to make Travel Videos on YT, I hope many People will see this 👍🏻 Keep it going! :)
Thank you for this video. I love to travel since I was a young girl, about a year ago I've discovered the world of videomaking, and... OMG... I'm totally in love with it. I'm just learning but thank you again for this wonderful tips. ❤️
It is 2022 and I am still watching your tuturials. I want to do better in my passion and what better way to learn is keep learning, watching you tuturials and applying it over and over again, who knows one day, I can do it too. I hope this year will become better for me with this. Thanks Abh! ( hard to spell your name 😂)
Such a great video for beginners like me! Some things mentioned took me many trial and errors to figure out on my own. Other things made so much make sense, putting words to what I wasn’t sure of why worked/didn’t for me so far. Alas, totally new information for me to learn. Thank you for helping advance me! ❤
I've learned from you a lot and finally I'm having my own channel now, though still new and struggling. I look up to you. I remembered watching this video of yours a year ago to learn how to make travel videos. (You answered my comment also). And now look at that !!! Over 1M. 😲 Congratz, you are amazing !
I was just thinking about this last night that I need to look up some travel video styles, and RUclips algorithm boosted this to my home page today. They're listening to our thoughts MANNNNN
The last couple days I had been searching video of how to film the vlog only using my phone. This video just show up on my feed today October 21,2024 ! Thank you so much for this valuable tips .
I have recently developed an interest n filmmaking. I have been binge-watching instructional videos. This is by far, the best I have found. Thanks. I subscribed and will have a look at everything else you have created.
I'm just starting out making videos but this was so much quality information plus examples as well as presented in a beautifully cinematic way! Truly inspiring! subscribing now :)
Hello Sir, I'm from India & recently I started my youtube Channel which is based on travelling, culture & traditions, today I was searching ideas for travel videos, there I saw your channel which is very helpful for new travel vloger like me, so your content & all the information is very valuable & I will follow this in my vlog, you are really honestly provide this all valuable idea in the video, plz keep it up & plz continue helping new vlogers. Thank you.
Thanks Pascal for creating and sharing! Can imagine how work intense it was to do this video. You took me on a journey behind the camera, opened my eyes and inspired me to structure my future videos more and which shots can be used.
This video is great, it opened my eyes and I could also recognise all the mistakes I’ve done in the past that kept me from actually editing my footage. I will surely implement everything I learn from you, thanks so much, great content!
There are so many travel video tutorial on youtube but none of them as good as yours. I skipped all of them in few seconds but your video is the best. Your techniques, ideas and all tips and information are so awesome and nice. You show us by example rather than giving lectures. Please make more videos like this. I have one request; Can you please make one video on choosing right lens for travel videos?
Thanks a lot. There is no right lens for travel videos. It all depends on the shots you're going for. Ultra-wide for vlogging and b-roll at 35mm, standard 24-70 zoom lens for pretty much everything and 70-200 or more for wildlife and detailed landscape shots...
So many good things to think about! Thanks for sharing Pascal, this is so helpful as we attempt to learn the world of vloging our travel. We really appreciate you sharing this with everyone!
Pascal: This video was great and came right on time as we prepare to get back out and start filming. Would love to see you do an full editing video in FCPX. Awesome work brother!!
😊 Thanks a lot.... even though I had a smart phone, I never shoot any videos, but I love good photos and videos, now I'm planning to develop a career in video and photos... thanks again
Thanks heaps for this, a lot of good information packed into this tutorial, going to refer back to it when needed, for horizontal movements do get some stepping/jitter in the footage, did notice a little in a couple of your shots, still experimenting with settings and movement speed to reduce this, using em1m2, cheers :)
I bought my 1st. JVC VHS Camcorder from, Crazy Eddie's Electronic Store back in 1976! Have always shot my videos In Camera Edit Style! I could practically pop the tape out of the camera and into my VCR player and watch the program perfectly! The videos only got better over the years as the industry introduced more sophisticated types of editing equipment! Even today I have the most state-of-the-art, Sony XDCAM and Adobe Premiere 2023. I still shoot my videos really tight so I only have to add music, special effects, graphics, titles and other fun things like that! Twenty years ago that was just a dream!
Love the B-roll! I'm finally well enough to attempt making my first films traveling through Germany. I'm grateful for all the free lessons online! Thanks!
This is great, I just did my first two travel vlogs and posted them and I love what I did but I wanted to make them better. This video helped me to see what I was doing good and what I need to improve on.
Good video. My biggest challenge is that fine line between “capturing” the trip and “experiencing” the trip. My family doesn’t like the camera so I tend to sneak it out. Like you said at the beginning about the reason for shooting will depend on the video. My reason for shooting our trips is just to keep a personal dairy of our trip. If someone on RUclips watches it that’s cool, but ultimately I have to make sure I actually was there first the experience rather than experiencing the whole vacation through a lens. Photography is my hobby, not my family’s with me.
Hey Pascal, super Video!
😂😂😂 I love the end 😅 I shoot tutorials all the time for work and as soon as you hit record there's some garbage truck or something slamming through the gears. Great video. I'm inspired. Thanks guy you have a new subscriber 👍🏽
You are amazing, thanks for sharing your knowledge with humanity I'm just a Brazilian guy trying to do something good, its so hard to find references. You make it easy, thank you.

The most exquisite and valuable aspects of life are often those that don't come with a price tag.
Love the first tip! Instead of continually shooting, shoot with intend! Thank you! 😆👍
I came here to say the same thing. Not only does it save editing time.. saves on battery and SD card space too
