  • Quite possibly the best morning of landscape photography I've had in years !
The epic Corfe Castle in misty conditions at sunrise has to be one of the biggest bucket list shots in the UK and for once I get perfect conditions as Dorset blesses me with a win !
Loads of information about how to shoot Corfe Castle and where from etc..

Love your videos. I'm still kicking myself for going to Wareham that other Sunday. However I've had two successful shoots there so I can't complain. That other perspective.. the longest lens I have is 200mm don't know if that's enough?

Hi Christine, I’ve done the same things myself and gone elsewhere when conditions have been perfect somewhere else, it’s enough to drive you mad but that’s the chase we all love ! Thanks so much for watching and your kind words, a 200 mm would do it with a small bit of cropping on the image just to take out sone of the unwanted trees :) good luck, you will nail it next time :)

Probably you best video to date, Daniel. Really enjoyable and professionally created. Like others, whilst I love the shots from West Hill, the ones from Kingston are really superb and give a great sense of context. Well, that's that layby filled up next time we get mist then !

Thanks so much Nigel, I was really pleased with this one and really tried to up my game on the production so it’s great to see people noticed ! The layby shot is an interesting one as not many people have lenses that have the reach to get it so hopefully it won’t fill up too much ! There are many other areas to shoot it from up there too ;)

Another great film Daniel. Only been to Corfe once, a couple of years ago, and had no mist but a nice sunrise. Vowed to go again, just trying to work out when the misty conditions might produce!
Also, really like your interview with Gary Norman; great insight into what makes you 'tick' as a photographer. Highly recommended to all who follow you!
    Thanks, Andy

Mist can be a tricky one at corfe and I’ve had my fair share of fails there that’s for sure but it’s worth persisting with as when it finally pays it pays off big time ! Thanks for watching my friend, hope you’re well ?

Hi Daniel, we met when I introduced myself to you in the layby after you had finished filming - nice to meet you. I had pulled in to shoot from West Hill initially but saw so many cars there already that as I already have some nice shots from West Hill I decided to go on to the the layby and to a location nearby to get a timelapse and shots. Really glad I did from the number of Togs seen in your video. The predawn colours and mist towards the coast that I saw were wonderful and I got the tip of the castle showing with some lovely pastel pink coloured sky. because of the direct the fog flowed I didn't quite get the 'flow' you did on the hill. Looks like we both had a very productive morning shoot and pleased to have the chance to say I enjoy your channel. Makes a nice change from most people being based much further north. Keep up the good work.

Hiya Steve, was really great to meet you and so pleased you could share in such a wonderful morning with those conditions! Corfe has become so busy it’s almost not enjoyable now so like you I try and seek out other areas that are less busy, you might not get “the shot” everyone knows but you will usually walk away with something a little more special as you’ve proved, that’s good photography right there steve and takes guts to be away from the crowd, well done ! Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words and please do come say hi if you see me out again, it was a real pleasure to meet you !

Some fantastic images and footage, i liked both locations the sunrise images are just beautiful with the colour and mist , you did a great job with them mate and the second location is a great long range image , really shows off the surrounding area , one i have never seen before.
