@stigfloberghagenphotography thank you so much !! Really pleased to have you onboard !
I was looking for some details on how to shoot CC and this has everything I was hoping for and more. Thank you
Really appreciate you watching and very happy it helped you, hope you get some great shots !
Thank you
Thank you very much for watching !
wonderful work 😀🙌🏽
Thanks so much David ! How are you ? Hope you have been keeping well ?
@@DanielWretham i am fine, thank you daniel 😀how are YOU?🙌🏽
Nice.
Thanks very much :)
well done in getting some good shots, I find it very difficult to get a composition in cluttered woodland floors!
Thanks very much, I must admit it’s a bit of a struggle I find myself battling too. I find a long focal length can sometimes get past the clutter a little bit ! Really appreciate you watching, thank you 🙏
Hi Daniel thanks for your video I,m currently carrying out a similar experiment with test packs from different manufacturers, as an amateur photographer I like to print my work and like yourself have been surprised by the results, I have an Epson ET7750 printer , I have found test packs good value for money, also which suit my printer best. Fotospeed have been the best and I tend to keep away from gloss paper as these tend to not print as well smudging or leaving lines on edge of the paper, this printer seems more suitable to lustre and Matt paper something manufacturers tend not to let you know,
Very interesting insights Colin, I do like a lustre paper for certain images but smooth cotton from fotospeed has now become my go to paper, but again I keep a wide variety of papers as different images benefit from different textures. The trial packs are great for finding a few like this ! I had a massive long chat with Andy Farrer recently who runs his own printshop and is an absolute master at printing, he gave me some great tips and insights so I might do a follow up video at some point ! Thanks very much for watching
Like your pictures ,if you want to see tower lit up I would suggest Easter / Christmas/New Year I live in Woking Surrey which is about a hour away and have several pictures taken from Gosport.
Really appreciate the heads up Colin, thank you ! I might well go down again. Thank you so much for watching
You sir are a legend for sharing this! Very valuable information on the website, thank you! Can I just ask when you came to do this shoot? I'm hoping for good conditions mid April and will ensure to be there for the Blue Hour. I found this to be the best time for Lulworth Cove too.
Really appreciate it, thank you 🙏 from memory it was August or September roughly but you can get mist there at anytime really ? Just keep an eye out for high humidity, low wind etc…. You can also check Swanage railway webcam which is just below corfe castle so it will give you a good idea of conditions! Good luck and thanks so much for watching
@@DanielWretham I'll keep an eye out, thank you! Fingers crossed it'll be misty but I'll out nonetheless if the weather is nice that day :)
@@DanielWretham Hello Daniel, I've got one more question please regarding the walk up the hill. You mention to take Foothpath 1 to walk up and to walk through the field, past the barn. Have there ever been animals in the field that you are aware of ? I wouldn't want to walk through it in the middle of the night and be surprised by cows or the likes lol
@mlle_francophile yes there are often cows in it, but it’s rare they ever bother you as they see lots of people but if any doubt then take the furthest left route which is always animal free :)
@@DanielWretham thanks for the heads up. After 2 close NF ponies encounters, I like to keep my distance from bigger animals. I will check the other footpath 😅 Happy Easter! ☺
Hi Daniel, the pathway at Houns Tout itself is closed currently (Dec. '23) due to the risk of rock falls etc.. Got my sunset shot nonetheless..
Real shame it’s been closed, but glad to hear you got your shot ! It’s a great view isn’t it !
It certainly is!! Very few hikers too..
@@paulharhen5444 I think photographers tend to avoid it as it’s a bit of a trek, but for me that’s the great part of it !
Great Video Daniel, lots of useful information, and how to scout for places for photos, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching Tony, glad it was helpful :)
Great Video Daniel, The combination of autumn colours and fog, magic conditions. 10:25, love the colour, obviously quite a high tripod position 10:33, slightly to the right, and more fog, I like the left side of the road with a gentle curve vs the right pretty must straight 10:43, lower and wider, I like this one very much 10:54 central position and slightly lower, the fog is brighter, this 1 is quite mistical 11:50 less leaves more blueish tones in the sky, slightly less pleasing to the eye 11:15, the leaves really make this one and the dark framing left and right, Great image 11:26, I'm not so sure about this one, perhaps a square crop 11:33 the bright fog on the right is disracting, again a narrower crop might have helped 11:43 I really like this one the bright fog is less distraction and your eye follows the road, me favourite!
Thank you very much Tony, hope you’ve been keeping well ? Sadly I’m not getting the chance to make many videos these days :/
Well I loved the first two then got to the end then saw another one I loved this was had as they were all beautiful. I am coming to the UK in two weeks time I hope I can get some Autumn colours in the Lake District fingers crossed 😀
Thanks so much for watching Angela, really pleased you enjoyed ! And good luck with your trip, the Lake District is stunning this time of year
Hi Daniel, loved the results :) do you have any guide about how to reach the tower?
Thanks very much for watching, I haven’t done a guide for this one yet but it’s very visible from the roadside and just a short walk up the field, you won’t be in any doubt of how to get there when you see it
Wow 10/10🤯🤯🤩🤩
Really kind of you, thank you so much 😊
I JUST LOVE RAINBOWS NOWWWW, AND I SAW IT JUST NOWWWW IT WAS SO COOL❤❤🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

Closed with “immediate effect” from yesterday, due to safety issues.
Oh no ! So gutted to hear that ? They had repaired it a short while ago from what I heard ? I take it it’s in a dangerous state again paul ?
The Daily Echo (Bournemouth version) carried the story 3 days ago or so. The struts and timbers are in bad condition according to the BCP local council...
Thanks paul, yes I read up on it, what shame to see this great location closed again, half the charm was the weathered old timbers
It's really helpful. Thnx 😊👍
Really appreciate you watching, thank you ! Glad it helped :)
What a beautiful place!!! Where is this church located? I was driving by recently and unfortunately couldn't find it.
Great advice on bluebell photography
Thank you very much, really appreciate you watching !
simply beautiful and magic 😀
Thank you so much david
Fantastic images of a beautiful wood, ours tend to be more chaotic coppiced woods. Great to see another person who sees the welfare of the bluebells is more important then getting a particular shot. I’ll never forget seeing a family trample a route through bluebells then trample down and area to sit in so the mother and father can them take phone photos of them amongst the bluebells. 🤦♂️
Thank you so much Andy, I really appreciate you watching. Every year I see the same thing and always speak up and say something to people who treat the bluebells badly, most are abusive back sadly but it won’t stop me saying it, everyone has a duty to protect these wonderful forests
A wildlife trust is also asking people to keep dogs on leads as apparently even they can damage bluebells if they run through them.
great video.. good ideas
Really appreciate that paul, thanks so much for watching and really kind of you to comment. Thank you 🙏

Thanks so much Rob, hope you’re well ? Thanks for watching Rob
Hi Dan, welcome back. Thought you'd disappeared. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks so much Paul, I often need to have breaks as I get super busy with things and don’t want to put out any old video just for the sake of it, it has to have value for my subscribers, really appreciate you being one of them and for the support ! Hopefully a few more videos coming shortly with bluebells coming !
you're
Changed ! Thanks, not my strong point !
Scouting is essential when photographing brief subjects or seasons like bluebells or autumn, it's also worth noting the position of the sun when you plan to shoot so you can get the best angle. I found a few local spots that look promising so maybe this year I will finally get a decent bluebell shot. Look forward to seeing your shots!
I couldn’t agree more, way more essential than people realise ! Thanks so much for watching and hope to bring you sone great bluebells and wild garlic this year
Great tips as always. Something I am trying to do more of this year is scouting. Still haven’t found a decent woodlands here though so might have to try some trips back to Dorset over the coming weeks
Thanks so much Chris, it will really pay off for you eventually. I’ve done countless trips that didn’t work out, but equally I’ve turned up some absolute gems too so it’s well worth putting the hours in for it. Really appreciate you watching Chris, thank you 🙏
Hi Dan, great to see you back on the scene. Some really solid advice here mate. I will be out scouting a few local places next week that I came across at the end of last season. Can’t wait to see your full blown bluebell epic; love the drone stuff by the way, really shows the beauty of the landscape.
Hey David how are you ? Great to hear from you and thanks so much for watching. It was nice to take a little break to be honest but have been hunting out sone great new areas and can’t wait for the season to kick off ! Hope you’re well my friend

I really enjoyed your video Daniel. Your channel is one of the best! I'd put you up there with Thomas Heaton. Is this location in Kingston? Regards Jen
That’s such a lovely compliment Jennie, thank you so much ! But a long way to go before I achieve Tom Heatons success!! It’s not Kingston (that’s beech avenue) this is in north Dorset
Great video Daniel. I’m sure your client was over the moon with whatever you produced for her. Can I ask what part of the New Forest you were in for this video? Stunning scenery
Thanks so much Steve, really appreciate you watching ! the area is bolderwood
I went there today. Had it all to myself, even though it is mid term week. Tricky to get down there.
It’s a cracking location isn’t it Paul, it doesn’t get the same pressure as the coves either side of it. Yep can be a bit of a scramble to get down to it but we’ll worth the trip !
I agree. I really like the two "keeper" shots I got out of it. Similar in composition to your own, but completely different due to lighting and wave conditions on the day.
@@paulharhen5444 fantastic, so pleased you got a couple of shots out of it !

Hi Paul, I parked at houns Tout car park, further walk but all flat !
Hi Dan, is the location secret? Thanks for the video.
Hi Chris, I wouldn’t say it’s secret but at the same time I wouldn’t want to name it on here ! Thanks so much for watching
That's a beautiful location expertly shot! Another winning film Daniel. Those conditions seen a long time ago now given the almost non-stop rain lately! Here's hoping fort some more frosty/misty mornings. A very happy New Year to you and looking forward to more of your excellent videos in 2023 ☺
Thanks so much Andy, yes it was shot LYM the last days of November ! The Christmas break was a bitter disappointment with non stop rain and sadly no fruitful photography trips :/ not looking great this week either sadly ! But I’ll certainly try and put more out as soon as conditions allow ! Thanks so much for all the support and wishing you a very happy new year !
Sorry for the late comment Daniel. Beautiful location and brilliant conditions. Well done on having the patience to wait until the perfect time! Great explanation on your compositions as always, love to hear your thought process. Some absolutely beautiful images, especially the ones at 11:15 and 11:45, but I did really like the ones of the trees that have lost most of their leaves as well. Fantastic work as always my friend.
