Guys, this series is amazing! I searched for a video about removing interior trim on my 1998 V70 and stumbled across you two. This is such a good video series. Lots of good, informative content and a great sense of humor. I'm all caught up and can't wait to see what's next! This is a great way to honor your father. Thanks!!!
Did you put that white plastic washer back on the pulleydamper, if I remember correctly, it was mounted to prevent the belt to skip a “tooth” when parking in 1. gear uphill. There was a very small risk that it if the car rolled backwards it could happen. So Volvo made that washer as a solution. If you didnt put it back, the partnumber is 1271851. Maybe there was a new in your beltkit. Great work by the way.
The belt moves because it's not correctly in place on the tensioner (the last one you've installed). Release the accessory belt tensioner and replace the belt in the middle and you will be good to go. Congrats for the video.
Since you guys were replacing so much why not just pull the engine out and give it a good clean up and change everything and put it back in? Just curious? Good video
Why did you not use ASIN water pump? It is OEM Volvo? Same with the belt (only Volvo Blue Box) Cost? INA for pulley Are SKF parts any good? Hope better than URO?
The water pump came with the timing belt set, which is SKF. Should be a good brand, well, at least that's what we were told... we have been troubleshooting since this video was recorded and everything points to the idler pulley beeing the cause. We put the old one back and then everything was fine. So we ordered an idler pulley from INA and that also made the belt go all the way to the edge... and so we ordered yet another one by gates, and well, more on that later😊😉
@@MusTRitch You may have no issue using OEM parts. SKF -GATES... If there's a point you don'"t want to miss you, it's on timing and accessories Belts. Have a look here : www.volvopartswebstore.com/cars/Volvo/1995/850-5DRS-SR-25l-5-cylinder-Fuel-Injected/car-parts.html
