Hi everyone, thank you for watching this video. I hope this documentary has served us as a form of inspiration to find the light even in our darkest moments. Throughout my time of speaking to Zac and learning about his journey, I've been reminded how even a shadow needs light to exist, and that where we are now is not where we will always be. Zac's perseverance was what got him to where he is today. We're all very proud of him, and we're sure his father and daughter are proud of him as well. - Claire, OGS Director/Producer
Zac always do things with 110% of passion. Used to see him on stage rocking it out and he's one of those Musician who always give their all performing, with great showmanship. Glad to have cross path with him and seeing him back on his feet.
Darn man my eyes got teary watching this. This is so daym inspiring, I also ran this marathon last year, listening to your story makes me want to work harder on my running
I have never heard any real story where it has left me such deep impression to the point of every moment this gentleman went through, I can really feel it. Thank you very much, OGS🙏🏽🙇🏻♀️ 🥲🥲He does himself proud 🥹🥹
Truly an inspiration sia, and what's funny is that someone started chopping onions for some reason in my room so that may be why I'm starting to tear up 😭
Wish he could explain more about the paralysis and how he actually got to walking, running again. How come physio was hindering him and any side effects from running? Kudos on regaining back his life
sometimes medical staff can give only textbook answers. I've been suffering from a neck/ collarbone injury, and having constant dizziness. Visited different physiotherapist and orthopedic doctors, all gave different answers and some even thought it was my mentally unstability that causees this 'imaginary' injury. So I gave up going to doctos, and started doing my own research. It's been 3 years, and I'm healing very slowly but keep having faith I will become better. His case may be similar too, so he rather works on his own.
I think he did mention that he will be in great pain after the marathon but never specifically said that is it for every marathon and whether the pain had reduced over the years. 🤔
Congrats! I crossed the finish line just a few minutes after Zac. The heat, the humidity and the early start time made Sgp marathon my most brutal race to date. And I could only imagine what it was like for him. I told myself that I would never run another marathon in Singapore again, but you know what? I really think I can do better. So someday I will return, and perhaps, just perhaps, Zac may change his mind too. Take care and see you around!
I am currently recovering from a leg injury and no one has an answer to when I can fully recover. To be very honest, I totally can relate how it feels to what you have mentioned in this video, "it was taken away from you" and you don't even have the choice to say "No". Every morning I wake up, my mind will keep questioning when will I ever fully recover? Because of the injury, I need to start walking from 0, like a toddler (fall and get up again). There are so many mental breakdown moments that will destroy you mentally and emotionally which no one talk about. Thank you for giving me a ray of hope that I will be able to walk, run and jump like you soon. Hopefully I will get well soon too. 😢
I have similar experience but nothing as bad as you. And twenty years ago, similarly doctor has advice against long period of walking, standing and avoid high impact exercise like running and football. Long story short, I take up running at 54 and complete 5 half marathon at 58. But unlike you, I have yet to try full marathon and have no intention to do so until now. After watching this video, running a full marathon will be on my bucket list. I will forever remember this story.
Very inspiring story but why your last and final marathon? Keep running to stay fit and mobile! Don't stop doing what you love and is good for you, life is short.

I would have advised him to go towards the light
Your vids and channel is the best thing I've seen in a long time 😊
Keep running the race and keep the faith! Simply uplifting story.

Very determined. Thank you for sharing 🤍
Where is this beautiful neighborhood/city they film him stretching/jogging in? So pretty! Very inspirational!

Congrats Bro.... Btw that's what all marathoners said, "This going to be my last marathon." ☺😊
Congrats ! Btw what is the Guinness world record about .?
Its about how many times u failed to become a dumb ahh.
Damn what a comeback💪
Inspiring
Does it mean... physiotherapy does not work for him? And he manage to recover by himself with his own trainings?
Truly well done!
Very inspiring story but why your last and final marathon? Keep running to stay fit and mobile! Don't stop doing what you love and is good for you, life is short.
wow, feel train incoming
this truly a TAKBKR, ALLAHU AKBAR X3 moment!
Zac still has the same intergenerational trauma. He wishes that he had talked more to his father, but yet is unable to talk to his daughter.
what do u mean he is unable to talk to his daughter? his daughter is an infant...
now Asics owes him money
Physiotherapists n docs CAN be the block/obstacle…….they are quick to judge……especially those working in the hospitals
I think you're wrong. You'll sign up for another marathon in no time!
❤❤❤
I want to be a physiotherapist and do good for society
means youre not paralysed
