I have one, personal exception to this rule: Somebody who for reasons beyond their immediate control, and is legally able to possess a gun, can't get a gun. For example, a kid I know turned 21 during the kung flu debacle. I had been mentoring him in preparation for his permit class, but when COVID struck all the classes were cancelled. He has since been able to take the class, but now can't get a pistol because there just aren't any available in his price range, so I lent him the Ruger he used during class. Perfectly legal to do in my state, by the way.
@TonyElbows In Missouri its legal to sell or give anyone a gun that can legally own it. To own a handgun in Missouri you have to be 18 but theres not an age limit for long guns. To carry a handgun concealed you must be at least 19 unless you're a member of the armed forces though.

Four minutes later a cop is putting a perfectly unharmed thief into the back of a police car. "I thought you said you shot him!" he cried. "I thought you said it'd take twenty minutes to get here..." These people you speak of have never known the fear involved in a life or death situation. Now the reality is slowly sinking in that the unthinkable can happen. Who would have thought a year ago current events would be happening? That reason alone should be enough to prepare (reasonably) for what could happen.
i have 'loaned out' two different guns in my life, i lost both of them. the borrowers [friends?] both claimed the guns were stolen from them. both borrowers reimbursed me for the fair market value of the guns. the first was a gift from my uncle. a nine shot h&r revolver that was worth little in monetary value, then or now. it had loads of sentimental value and i would give up my front seat in hell to get it back. the other was a taurus mod. 85. good little gun, but i do not pine away for it very much. BTW, it was incredibly accurate for a little snubby .38 special. anyway listen to these guys. they know of what they speak. don't fall for sob stories, do not loan out guns. also, the gun may have been bought with your paperwork. if something bad is committed, with your gun, you may be implicated, in some form or fashion.
Your paperwork? There is no federal gun registry. The paperwork you fill out cannot legally be kept on file by the government. If the store still happens to have your form 4473 it doesn’t mean you own the gun. The serial number on the gun isn’t like a license plate. Don’t ever speak to the police and you have nothing to worry about.

I firmly believe that the answer to the question "can I borrow a gun?" Is always "No, but I'll gladly go down to the gunstore with you and help you pick out something good that's in your budget and purpose!"
"Bro, I know I've been a dick about guns, but now I'm scared and I really need to borrow one of yours. Can I?" "Afraid not, amigo. I can't rule this block like a tyrannical warlord if I give my new servants and lawn care specialists and gophers all my weapons and ammo. See you next week though..."

I don’t advertise that I am always ‘ready’, but most of my friends and associates know that I carry and that I am well tooled. However, there have been a few who have complained about my tools and me carrying them, I simply tell them, “I’m sorry that you feel that way, to honor your feelings and show you the respect you deserve when the stuff hits the fan I will not use my tools to defend you.” But if they do ask for help I make sure they get the training and supplies they need.
I've handled firearms since I was about twelve years old. And in my community which was mainly black folks, having firearms was looked down on. I was always told," Jesus never needed a gun.", or," You're giving the police an excuse to kill you." At about the age of 30yrs old, I started buying lots of guns that I wish I had kept, but again, my family started saying the same things again, and I listened to them. Then I got a job in state government, and bought a few firearms,(not as many as the first time), one of my sons got in trouble with the law, and I did two things: 1. I retired from that job, so my son could come to my house. (The job had help mess up my health as it was). 2. I got rid of my firearms, so he could come home. I don't feel to bad about that, because that trip down south seems to have opened his eyes up. He is making much better choices. So now I don't have the income I once had to rearm, but I have at least gotten one defensive weapon, (Glock 48), and am halfway through building an AR-15. It's slow going for sure. And the prices are crazy. But I think I've learned a valuable lesson. The tool everyone else says you don't need should be the one you keep. Meanwhile, those same family members are all armed to the teeth! Around the first of September, I should be able to finish the AR build, and I will never again get rid of my firearms like I did ever again!
Remind people that Jesus told His Disciples that"If thou hast not a sword, then sell thy cloak & buy one"(Luke 22). He gave that advice when it was a capital offense to pray to any but the Roman State approved gods. BTW, blackpowder guns including Revolvers are not considered firearms & can stand in if your son is still precluded from owning a gun & you want to be armed while he's living with you.
No you aren't. If you lend someone a gun and he commits a crime with it, that is completely on him (assuming he didn't tell you he was going to commit a crime)
It isn't tactically advantageous to do so, but we should support gun owners who do that. They are putting support of the 2A in front of their own personal safety, and that is admirable. Same thing with open carry.

I know a few. I take people shooting all the time as first timers. I tell them to start small with something like a 10/22 because they are cheap to buy and shoot then step up and I get the same old "o maybe some day. I need to get more comfortable with them first". Loads of people put off stuff until the last minute. I just got into it with my wife about tinting her car windows. I have been telling her for like 4 years and this summer I had enough because the seat belt buckles on my our baby seat was burning my kid. The dots finally connected in her head and they were tinted the next week.
All my family owns guns, but they are honestly Fudds and have never seen the need for an AR or even a decent pistol, because what could you hunt with that?
17:16 It's not about Left or Right, White or Black, Gay or Straight, we are all just Americans at the end of the day, who want to protect our freedoms, and make sure that our children and family are able to live their lives however they want.
In 1992, during the L.A. riots, it was legal to loan a gun to a person who wasn't prohibited from owning a gun. Since then laws have been passed that prohibits loaning guns to good people. Our friends and family have not voted for people to protect the 2A, or they haven't voted at all. They have ignored me also when I have invited them to go shooting or encouraged them to buy a firearm. Why would I loan a gun to someone who has no idea how to use it? That's dangerous for them and everyone around them. Just sayin'.
Exactly. I don't care about the legal aspect, but I don't trust anyone who doesn't have the knowledge to use a gun. Just like I wouldn't let someone weld on their own if they don't know how to.
Thank you guys soooo much for this video, and yes, I did not think in the beginning that you would've answered the question the way you did. I thought the talk was going to be about the liability issues in "lending" someone a gun. Me personally, I would not "lend" ANYONE a gun. But I'd darn sure SELL them one!!! In fact, that is exactly what I have done with 3 nay saying family members in just the past couple of months. But in selling them a gun, they had to agree to meet me at the range so that I could teach them how to use it. As a gun enthusiast and collector, I believe it is totally irresponsible to lend or sell a gun to a friend or family member without first knowing and making sure that they know how to respect and use the firearm. Thanks again for this post guys, it was very timely because recently friends and family have been coming out the wood work to me with this very question.
I have quite a few young ( just getting started in life ) relatives, that I have taught gun handling and shooting too while growing up. And if they hit me up tomorrow for a gun. ULFRIC STORMCLOAK oh look at that I spelled a word wrong. Next time I’ll be sure to read over the very important RUclips posts for grammatical errors.
Then I got a job in state government, and bought a few firearms,(not as many as the first time), one of my sons got in trouble with the law, and I did two things:

If you lend someone a car, you are not responsible for it if he hurts someone with it.
In my state(Missouri) you arent unless they are a prohibited possessor.
Wtf? No you aren’t. It’s the same as loaning a car and they hit someone.
Don't advertise being a gun owner i.e. t-shirts, stickers posting your collection on social media....problem solved
It isn't tactically advantageous to do so, but we should support gun owners who do that. They are putting support of the 2A in front of their own personal safety, and that is admirable. Same thing with open carry.
I only recently discovered this channel. Though I never knew him during his lifetime, I miss Barry. Thanks fellas. You're providing a valuable set of services.
As someone who turned 18 this year I’m glad I was able to buy a rifle because this covid crap is crazy
@Cody Sonnet Lol
It's not Covid, it's Communism
Its 21 for rifles here in New Yorkistan. Lol
@@YeetoLavito where the hell you buying? As long as it’s not a pistol it’s 18 man. My nephew is only 19 and we just bought him 2. I’m also in NY

Hi Chad and Eric , good video as usual ,I am from South Africa , thankfully I became a gun nut befor this virus poped up and we went into lockdown here. Because there's a huge increase in crime here , it feels good that I am able to protect myself and family.
Lol I heard stuff like cigarettes have went underground in south Africa since the virus
Same thing here in cunukistan Canada I got my firearms license 3 years ago 5 rifles and 3 thousand rounds of ammo later im good and its funny all the liberals thinking im nuts guess again
@@scottbuckley6578 poor guy must suck living in Canada should move to Texas and be free
Do you guys really have people in your circle that have asked to borrow a gun . Everyone I know has a gun .
Yeah I have liberal friends and family and both welcome me with firearms to their homes. I convinced my family in Colorado to carry gun heck even my ex carry gun not because of me ;) lol
I have family members who are dragging their feet on getting one for their households. But none are anti gun or asking to borrow one.
I literally don't know anyone who doesn't own guns. Even my liberal coworkers have guns. I don't know of any family member who doesn't own a gun.
"What gun do you recommend with all this stuff going on?"
"An AR-15"
"What? Really? But aren't those made to kill people?"
smh
Precisely
Do you want one that a piece of shit XD
Thats the point
One of those AR- 47 Automatic machine gun rifles? a.k.a. The Biden Special...
Lol my mini 14 with a drum works well
This has to be one of the BEST gun gripes I've seen.
Just sayin'.
its not illegal at least here in Missouri to do that unless they aren't legally able to own guns
Exactly. I don't care about the legal aspect, but I don't trust anyone who doesn't have the knowledge to use a gun. Just like I wouldn't let someone weld on their own if they don't know how to.
Agree. It's foolish if they have no experience or training.
NO, GO BUY YOUR OWN..
I also had someone announce to me that he would buy one of my guns! Not just no but. HELL NO!
Guns and ammo are not only something every American should own they are also a good investment.
Im sure anyone who has been asked this question can safely say its been an in-law asking
You are exactly right! Just sold 2 guns to my brother in-law...LOL He bought one for him and another for my sister.
Taylor McCallum Wow! Exactly! They ask like they’re borrowing your hedge trimmers lol...
I have quite a few young ( just getting started in life ) relatives, that I have taught gun handling and shooting too while growing up. And if they hit me up tomorrow for a gun. We would go gun shopping first. If nothing fit the bill, then yes I would help them out. But folks my age? Yeeeaaahhhh good luck out there buddy.... You're gonna need it...
Also going up to preppers like “HeY mAn cOuLD I hAvE sOmE aMmO?”
Naw those wackjobs will have 10k 9mm and wont sell you 30 rounds. Something wrong with them
@@jaredfrazier2216 "hurr duur yup, i got 5k rounds of 5.56 and im ready to go into battle!" bitch how tf you gonna carry all that? where you gonna keep it that it isnt gonna ruin or get snatched?
I thought I heard retards replying in here.....
Excellent gripe gents. I agree this is a great opportunity to significantly expand the 2A community and welcome all legal newcomers (even if they're late to the party). Very well articulated - I think Barry would be proud!
There is a wonderful gun store in Portland, Oregon that in their radio commercials apologizes for the long lines at their stores. Never thought I'd see the day.
Cheers from Connecticut. New subscriber and loving this channel and its content
Almost everybody i know already have guns i guess thats the kind of people i hang with
Exactly
