Airfryer Crumble: What to do with FREE Rhubarb!

  • If you watched an earlier vlog, you'd know I was lucky enough to be given a massive bundle of rhubarb and today I made a delicious crumble in the Ninja Dual airfryer (you can use the airfryer instructions for any airfryer make, rule of thumb always check progress as its cooking).
Thank you very much Trish for my lovely gifts, it was really good to use that beautiful frying pan so quickly after opening the gift - I didn't intend for that to happen, it was just the perfect size for heating up the custard! I know I will use it often as well as the cookie cutters, plans are afoot for a vlog using them very soon! Thanks again...
Recipe info below, I found rhubarb prices - more info on that at the end of the vlog.
    Hope you enjoy...
    Thanks for watching

I always make rhubarb crumble when its in season, just a tip.....use very little water if any when cooking it down , and also it will continue cooking when in the oven so take that into consideration also. I also do rhubarb fool ... so easy ....cook rhubarb and sugar let cool.... then fold it into whipped up double cream..... its so nice in the summer. serve chilled😋❤

Top tip - hold most the water thank you Joe, it's been years so long I cannot remember lol. Mind you the recipe said 3 tablespoons of water with 500g rhubarb! I love gooseberry fool so will definitely try rhubarb fool thanks v much for the suggestion!😋

I cook my chopped rhubarb in the microwave on simmer for about 10 mins maybe more or less but I don't add any water as it will make it's own juice, then when cooked I add the sugar /sweetener to before adding the crumble mix. It stays in shape and has a lovely rosy colour. I bet it would cook like this in the air fryer too. However, even it mushes it still tastes lush with custard, ice cream or cream. Scrummy. Love all your vids. Thanks Kerry.

Thanks for this. I’m going to experiment in my Ninja 15-in-1 using a silicon cake ‘tin’ and think I should be able to pre-cook the rhubarb using a steam or pressure cook setting, add the sugar and topping, and then air-fry to bake it. Fingers crossed 🤞 it’ll work. Will have a go with the Asda crumble topping so thanks also for that tip.

Aw thanks Amanda😀💕 oh no I didn't, that's odd - mine didn't have any overly plastic smell, washed it for 1st use and away i went, used it nearly daily ever since. Maybe cook smoked bacon in it rather than empty, am not sure what else to advise🥴. Have you contacted cosori/wherever you bought it from? Hope you get it sorted 👍

@@budgetcookinguk Hi Kerry - We've run it outside a few times today and then tried some chippies. The good news is they weren't tainted - big tick - but there is still a horrible plastic smell. If the food had been tainted, it'd be going straight back to Amazon but I think we'll see how it goes. It's very odd that not every unit is affected xx

Hi Peter and Sarah, do you use RUclips Studio? I make my thumbnails using canva (an app, I use the free version, I think you can use it on a desktop if you can't via a mobile) once made, I add to the video via youtube studio - happy to help further if you need more info😀👍
