The balltop is supposed to come off with the shaft so that you don't require a flathead screwdriver, makes it much easier
Screw in the balltop to the shaft first then screw that into the base. Or at least that's how the manual describes how to assemble it.
Man, so many innuendos in this video.
Cool vid! for ppl who go to offline events frequently, this is quite nice!! Thanks man!
Love all your video's got a MadCatz TE2 yesterday and got Street fighter 5 arcade deluxe editions today
Shoutouts to Clayton, the man behind Phreakmods. Fantastic dude, and a fantastic product.
i usually stock up on the phreak links but im getting a bunch of the jlfDs to see how they are, i think its attractive to a builder because its pretty cheap because it comes with the whole jlf as per normal
Bro I really enjoy your videos! please do more stuff like this because there's lack of videos on arcade sticks!, Thank you!
Red stuff is more than likely loc-tite meant for screws so they don’t come unscrewed during heavy vibrations
SANWA SILENT GEN 2s SHIP IN 9 OR LESS DAYS PogChamp (from FocusAttack)
Loc-tite rebranded their thread lock liquid. Now officially called Loc-tite gunge.
Lord Breadington whoa! Do you know why they decided to rebrand with “gunge”? At the end?
Find me a man that would love me as much as NihongoGamer loves his Victrix
Uh... I AM HERE!!! HAHAHAHA
You could buy the Phreakmods Link to test it out
I bought it and as time went by it failed until I had a simple stick shaft. I think that the remove system is for a travel event, not for play all time with this, even it is just for save it in the box
Once Again Hazbean ☕️! You are the best! My fight stick and Sanwa Parts are on the way and trust and believe Im using your Methods and using your Wisdom
Such a tease at the end!!!
Been using Phreak mod link for awhile now cant recommend it enough the shaft feelsso goodto use with the shape
The red "gunge" is probably locktite, a thread locker to prevent screws from unscrewing
I haven't used a stick outside of an arcade... The last time I used an arcade? Almost 2 decades ago
BUT! This idea of removable, is really cool and something I'm strongly looking in to
Got this joystick with a 4 lbs spring, love it!
I got the Phreakmods Link not too long ago and it does actually take a little while to get used to it. Plus I had an issue with mine squeaking while doing quick or rough motions. Silicone spray/electrical contact cleaner fixed it easily. I haven't tried the new JLFD yet but I think I'd still prefer the quick release design instead. (Pretty sure they named it JLF-D for Detatchable?)
I picked me up one about 2 weeks ago. Freaking love it. (Victrix controller ). Would also like to point out something that you may have not noticed at the victrix controller is very resistance to fingerprints unlike the razor
I'd definitely go with the quick release
man i kinda wish they had a removable one for fantas
Looks good but will a battop fit and leave enough room for the shaft?
i want that victrix pro you have but i think im just going to get the latest razer stick its like $150 less and i am just going to use it to play online with friends.
When hold a stick, where does your middle finger go? Is it gribbing the bottom of the ball or is it against the shaft?
Can you review the Qanba Dragon 🐉 !? I think it could end up being your favorite stick 😬
They're not as nice as the Victrix imo.
I got this stick and im pretty happy
I had an issue where the lever detached during gameplay on two separate occasions. Luckily there were during casuals, but it made me paranoid to use it in tournaments. Afterwards I tighten the lever up more and it produced a new problem, now its hard to take the lever off. So yeah, I'm pretty disappointed.
Took me 2 Years to find this, but fantasic
Lol, really makes me want to trick out a new stick... The Hori Rap4 is just so reliable tho.
I went from the hori rap4 to the Razer Panthera and I don't miss the rap4 at all, it's so hella loud with the hayabusa stick and kuro buttons, it's getting annoying hella fast if you wanna play late at night.
Why not just put different parts in the Rap4?
Yeah spin that shaft my man.
The red gunk is locktite and it's to stop the screws from coming loose.
Once my dad and I built an arcade stick, but I’m not sure where it went.
Thanks for the review - Is there such a thing as a non - rotating lever/bat top? I remember before that during the arcardes, I could use the non-spinning top to aid me do the moves/hadouken. Thank you in advance!
Check out the seimitsu “Bulliet LSX-Nobi”. I believe it is designed to not rotate
@@NihongoGamer Thank you! Its the one designed by tekken "Bullet"!
Hey! FYI. Love the videos. You can move your buttons around to actually match SF5's in game button color layout. Blue = light. Yellow = medium. Red = hard/fierce. It'll match the in game color scheme. I wish all fighting games would stick to this color scheme as well. It could spread through the culture and help noobs out when they step up to a stick.
Lol this is true I hadn’t even noticed that the colors I chose are similar to the in-game SFV color scheme
you had unboxed all stick expect the qanba obsidian why ?
So I have a question I bought a standard length shaft/lever and it was alot taller than the stock one in .y pantherea, which is fine because it feels like an old happ length but does the panthera have a smaller zhaft or did FA mess ny order up
Would you recommend the Mad Catz street fighter arcade stick or Razer panthera street fighter arcade stick
Do you have trouble loosing the lower dust washer? I ended up taking mine out. I don't have the sanwa but the phreakmods link.
Do you know if they are selling it on retail in Japan? Or only Online for now?
I picked up some of these because I tried the phreakmod stick and I could kind of feel the linkages moving in the shaft. It's hard to describe but it made a small scraping kind of noise. It wasn't unusable but it wasn't great. I'm a bit dissapointed to learn about the need for a screwhead to remove the shaft but maybe some blue loctite between the ball and the shaft is the way to go? Hopefully blue's strong enough for the forces we'd deal with here but hopefulyl that'd make your "Oh the ball head is stuck" situation happen every time.
Blue loctite is really needed if you use heavier springs if I dont get mine just right it would screw off on its own over time. It needed to include a little packet of blue loctite with it as it may end up bad press if people buy these and get it unscrewed mid match
Can you do more videos about shaft thickness?
👀
Can you even mod the victrix? Like with art work like most fightsticks?
Ok now this is 👌
First of all, great videos! Now, I was wondering if it's possible to glue the ball to the stick so it can be more easily removed?
I guess so
I thought so. Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged by the haters!
Does this work with a bat top as well?
I dont want a Joystick Module just the different detachable Rod/shaft Parts to mod the Sticks i allready got! where to get?
have u tried, the Phreakmods - Link? compared to removable sanwa? thanks
My Sanwa removable lever is enroute and will arrive tomorrow.
That background music bassline sounds like Redman Method Man track 'Da Rockwilder'
now you just need a 3d printed cover for the hole in the stick after you have removed the sanwa lever
I wanna get this for my dragon slay arcade stick
"All over the bottom."
Nihingo Gamer were can I buy this???
Does yours come with an extra parts like springs, actuators and a circular gate?
The pre-orders from Focus Attack did but his is just the basic lever kit from Rakuten.
15:00 Who's that absolute unit cheering in the background?
Talking about Abigail?
Imagine an arcade stick with a slot that you could put the stick in when you remove it
Razer atrox and panthera non evo have been around for ages. Te2 is the predecessor to that one, and now the qanba dragon. Look them up if you haven't already
We need to get another fightstick maker to mail you another stick lol.
I’m all in favour of this
anyone know if I could I use this for my razer panthera evo?
Does Sanwa make a silent version of this new removable lever?
You could replace the PCB on the Sanwa with the Gamerfinger optical PCB.
wow that is a lot of work just to detach the lever, i'll just stick to my phreakmods
What are the buttons that you have on the victrix
I would love the translucent buttons on mine.
Can you buy the victrix joystick by itself?
Hey pimpin I measured out the 5.2 centimeters for the shaft size and 4.5 centimeters from the inside, are you sure the deminsions are correct?
I’m quite a bit short!
Do you know where I can find the Phreak Mod Link around Tokyo? I want to give it a try.
Thanks for the video o/
I saw them for sale at sengoku in akiba
@@NihongoGamer Thanks!
I will check it. I don't know many stores here. Usually I just get my stuff from attasa.
@@NihongoGamer is this compatible with phreakmods link recently bought one
No, the removable stick I was after is by Phreak Mods, but I was able to source the exact same thing from China for about £10.
i wish i have an arcade stick
If the point of the removable stick is to be convenient, but you need to screw it in when you want to use it, then I think it loses its convinience factor and defeats the point.
For some id say its portability. Vs having the normal stick sticking out. But I agree on that sanwa's direction is not the fastest for removal
I'd prefer the solid feel of the stick, the fact it comes off is for transport, not for quick convenience. this stick will never accidentally come off.
Late reply but im sure you can use a coin instead of a screw
why no store links?
Cool video and all but.. where's the coffee?
This seems, a bit too involved compared to the custom job they seemingly made for the Victrix or a Link Quick Release.
I wish Seimitsu would do something like this. I like my LS-32.
They have phreak mod links for semitsu.
@@Demonkingx5 No I mean something officially made by Seimitsu like what Sanwa did.
Hey! New silent sanwa buttons came out and I'm waiting for your review ;)
SkilllfulL not out yet, they’re on pre-order until the 14th of April for NA anyways
The stick is too loose for me.I Had to get a 4lbs tension spring for my sanwa jlf
Alot of pre order places are giving away springs with the pre order of this stick
Is there a difference between the Phreakmods removable lever and the Victrix lever?
HXMbamwam yes the “gen 2” that Victrix uses has a built in dust washer. Whereas the original Phreakmods Link only is the quick removeable lever, you have to provide your own dust washer. The dust washer is not connected to the shaft like the “gen 2”
The Victrix lever is only Black the phreakmods link comes in a lot of colors
@@OptimalMario Naisu, I somehow forgot about the fact that the gen 2 comes in only black.
@@OptimalMario Is it possible to buy the Victrix lever separately?
Ever try making your own stick?
I do. Got 12 of my own designs in my collection. I started making my own because I can't stand plastic enclosures and love the freedom of custom paints. I use poplar board for the frame and 1/2 in birch plywood with acrylic sheet for control panel.
I use a dpad. No accidental ups. Snes or ps1 to usb is my modern tool. Its way easier. You should try it. You'll never go back.
I wish we still had some authentic arcades here in Ohio, cause I can’t play alpha 2 or third strike or anything anywhere else but at home😔
Ya Boi Acey where in Ohio do you live because in Columbus there is a place called Akiba Arcade that has a lot of imported Japanese machines?
Delox Akiba arcade sucks there’s no fighting games it’s more for casual ddr machines and hatsune miku statues
@@acey4626 There are a couple fighting games but I understand what you mean. It's definitely not a focus.
Imagine taking more than 1 second to remove your joystick
This comment was made by Vicktrix gang.
Here is an idea for you: why not save up money, buy another Victrix Pro FS, remove the Victrix Pro FS's lever and install it into your Mad Catz TE2? Try that.
pretty sure the Victrix uses a JLF with the quick release shaft he linked
change the artwork for panthera evo please
That is a Flathead screw....
say shaft one more time ...
I'm more of a Battop guy.
Top
Does no one even know what a phillips head is here?
You skate??? 😲 Do you post vids of you skating or do topics maybe on another channel?
And wtf my te2+ has a screwdriver in there but it's a hex top to switch out the art... 😢
The te2+ screwdriver metal portion is reversible. There skating vids on this channel :)
Pretty sure you’re doing it wrong. The ball is supposed to be screwed onto the shaft tight. And when you remove it the shaft comes off with the balltop attached.
It’s a threaded screw on both ends. Tightening the shaft onto the base tightens both ends simultaneously and so sometimes it stays attached to the ball, sometimes it doesn’t. That’s the nature of the engineering here
Sanwa is the king of following trends in the worse way possible. Oh silent buttons? we will put a foam washer! Oh, didnt like that? Well we will make a button with nothing retaining the cap, and the cap will be made out of a hard rubber! Oh, you want to remove a stick easily? Ok, i hope you brought your toolbox!
The idea for this removale one is if the ball top is tight enough it comes out with the shaft in one when removed. But nothing will beat the vitrix quick release
i bet your brain is confused between liking the removable golden ball vs unremovable black ball.
even the main topic wasn’t the victrix pro fs, this arcadestick is just nowhere available anymore... official site... sold out... ebay... no results... amazon... not listed...
The link is better on my opinion
The Only thing that will draw people is this is like the same price for a full jlf stick. But id probably be temptrd to buy a vitrix if they sold it seprate
I wanna see you speed-assemble a stick from scratch like a soldier would do with a gun.
EDIT: Field stripping is the word I was looking for.
Greetings from Mexico
Yo this sanwa solution is inferior to the Phreak Mod Link oder Victrix take on. Dissapointing. I'm using Phreak Mods link since 2013 and it works like a charm.
Still not verified ...
Flexing your viktrix pro again?
Yeah it’s pretty sad this is the type of content we get now...
@@jdogg0130x2k but its the best this kind of content gets
Aww don’t be sad :)
Scribble Dip ehh
NihongoGamer when did I say I was sad? Point it out for me would you?
I love when people use centimeters because it probably confuses the American views
Stop using miles for God's sake
The metric system is used in America...
First
Day 100069... yet another fight stick video... I'm turning to dust... good bye.
Like the dude from Spider-Man 3?
@@NihongoGamer 100069 days would mean I'm about 270 years old... but you have a better idea so we will go with that 👍
imagine having a 400$ stick and playing SFV for years and still being in bronze
