I'm the opposite the metallic look would drive me crazy as I would expect the finger prints and smudges to be more visible. It does look good though, Those Buttons have traveled more than I have, Probably made in China, imported to Japan, then shipped to the USA and now they are in England, and will be back in Japan soon, A trip round the world...no wonder they are gold.

Madcatz is alive and well their site is back up n all to boot. So we may get more newer updated sticks can't wait to see what the next few months will bring :)
Mad Catz is back, but right now they are only focusing on making monitors or something like that. Can't remember fully at like 1am. They don't want to jump the gun so fast and end up having to possibly shut down for good so yeah
Also, the people who built parts and such for Mad Catz now own and run Mad Catz which is awesome tbh

It looks like you're missing the plastic spacers for the buttons. The buttons should be sitting leveled with the plastic panel, not inside.
Funny enough, I just modded my Qanba Q1 yesterday. I got a JLF stick with a silver reflective balltop and some silent Sanwa buttons. What a coincidence!
That "dang" caught me by surprise and accidentally laughed out loud, now my sister is staring at me. Great video man, keep it up!
hey man thank you for all the awesome content you are actually the person who inspired me to get back into fighting games and i also got my first fightstick a HORI RAP 4 KAI which i will be modding once i get my cheque like changing out artwork and translucent purple buttons and a translucent purple balltop to go with the Skullgirls theme

Great mod, always nice to do/create something yourself. Wanting to try something different like a Hitbox or a Hayabusa Silent
I brought a qanba Q1 my first full size fightstick and brought new buttons 2 times stepped up to a TES+ brought new buttons 3 times last time i went with the playstation button color scheme black and gray buttons for the trigger placed buttons and when I got my TE2+ changed them only once but after watching this i'm getting that old itchy feeling to get new buttons they never tell you owning a fightstick is a heavy addiction!
i bet those gold buttons will fade as time passed by

You should do art that goes with the red and gold theme so u can have a bit more gold on the art as well
You should draw a black and gold design for the board, so it fits a bit better

I love how the buttons look like... the gold fits well with the red... unfortunately I can’t play with sanwa even they are really good... they are a bit too sensitive for me... I had to replace them in my 5 year old madcatz TE with seimitsu buttons ... I love seimitsu buttons where you have to press a little bit harder to get your input... also you can but a nice artwork in the buttons if you choose transparent ones

Oh and my dream mod would be pastel colors with glitter ball top and buttons, I found a glitter one but not in the color I want and no gliter buttons yet. The dream is real for sure
I wish they'd sell those buttons on Amazon. I have a color scheme that is red and gold, but I would really rock those buttons if I had my own fight stick.
Since you customized your stick i feel like the buttons are a little more deeper on the acrylic. Like the surrounding of the button should be on top of the acrylic i think

Can you maybe do a video testing some cheap arcade sticks? Your videos really made me curious about arcade sticks but I see on amazon they go from 30-150€ So if you are able to test some cheaper ones would be cool, since you seem to know about the topic
I might do! I already have a video where I bought the Hori Fighting Stick Mini. If I see some good deals in the future I’ll consider picking up some cheaper ones too

Did my tax returns recently and decided to get a te2. I was gonna do a custom stick and base it around Yasuho Hirose from Jojos bizarre adventure. Just make it all pink and girly like her.
The idea is to do a soft, pastel look that matches her personality

nice but if you really wanted a arcade edition of buttons you have to get white buttons with gold surrounded because the new street fighter V look is white with gold without black by the way i see you r playing DBFZ more than street fighter in this arcade stick why don't you make a DBFZ Art for it?

whats the exact model of that stick ? i like it but the buttons sitting low in the panel like that would drive me nuts.
Can’t remember if I included it in the video but actually this is a Mad Catz TE2+ and it comes with 8 spacer rings so that the buttons sit at the correct height above the plexi glass

That's cool and all, but how do you store it for travel?
What kind of case/box do you keep it in? (I don't wanna just toss it in a backpack!) The control stick is what has me concerned, and I wouldn't want to damage mine.
(I use a PS1 ASCII Specialized, but I'll eventually get a Hori Fight Stick in the future when they don't break the bank!)
I don’t have a special bag yet but also I don’t really bring my sticks out of the house much. Maybe if I join a local community I’ll get one of those dedicated stick bags

How does the balltop feel in comparison to the original one? I was wondering if these gold ones are actually made of a different material and if they are as light as the original, since most aluminium ones I've had felt super weird because of the weight.

@@NihongoGamer They have anodized aluminum bat sticks. They come in 6-8 different colors including silver and gold but they're not gold or silver-plated so they basically look like dimpled, colored aluminum. I frankly think the solid plastic and transparent bat sticks look better but I don't use them. I use balltop handles.
They have the metal handles all over the place. In the US, they're available at Arcade Shock, Paradise Arcade Shop, and Focus Attack.
I prefer the Sanwa plastic balltop handles with the mirror reflectivity. I've got a silver Hori balltop I haven't installed on any controller yet. Qanba also has a metal ball handle that's reflective but it's usually only sold with their higher-priced joysticks; last I saw Arcade Shock was selling these handles, too. That handle is $7. The reflective balltop handles look better than the anodized aluminum handles and are a lot more affordable ($3.50 for the Sanwa "metal" balltopswhich is not much more than the standard solid plastic balltop handle).

@@NihongoGamer I found out these rings were VERY important when installing GamerFinger buttons on my TE2. I'd actually broken one of them... Luckily focusattack sells replacements!
