Being Mexican this reminds me of people who played KOF and SF most of our younger days on emulators and they got to be even better on a keyboard than on a arcade stick x'D and we did that 'cause around here there's not so much money for videogames, it's good to know we're not the only ones that experienced this ...
Hitbox and this mixbox are the way to go for anyone that wants super fast and accurate inputs. I have used a hitbox for 5 years now and can never go back to stick or pad. It's worth every penny
Why not just stay on keyboard, im having a hard time figuring out what the mix box offers better than just using a keyboard. You can map the button layout to be exactly like the layout on the buttons of the mix box. Exept for the angle tho
You need to do Zangief's CA during a Jump, Forward Dash, or Forward Knee for it to come out. The way you were doing it, it wouldn't have came out no matter what you would've done.
yvespandora In simpler terms, it needs a buffer. That's fine anyway considering using ANY CA practically requires some setup, like a combo or bait, IE an input.
that makes a lot of sense and explains to me why I'm terrible at full circles, actually I'm gonna go input kokonoe's astral after an attack rather than raw now.....
I've played SF4 on a keyboard for a really long time, and I am a gief player on it. So what I do is that I jump in the air and do the first full-circle in the air and then do the other full-circle as I land, this helps me pull off the CA.
Sumair Baloch Every Gief knows a jump is a good place to buffer that, but that takes a long time, which renders you punishable (jumping is already bad in Street Fighter) and makes your intent to do the CA very telegraphed as well so even if they don’t try to punish your jump directly they can avoid it. Can you buffer it out of step dash with WASD? out of V-skill? It’s not a good case for WASD that arcade sticks and controller pads can reasonably do these things but WASD can’t. I learned fighting games on keyboard and liked it then but moved later to Hitbox, and I’m just sayin’, Hitbox can do standing 720’s in 4 frames 😏.
I. NEED. THIS! I can't use Arcade Sticks but I love the buttons. I am very proficient in fighting games when I use the keyboard for movement but it's a bit crowded for it's action buttons. THIS IS THE BEST SOLUTION I'VE SEEN~! WHERE WHERE~!!!!
I used to play SFEX2+ on PC with PS1 emulators. To do the 720 supers on the ground (Gief and Darun Mister, for example), you need to buffer them into something. For example, jump forward, do the first 360 in the air, then do the second 360 when the character is landing, and as the character lands, do the final up+P. Or do HK, and while the HK is recovering, do the 720. The thing is, you have to avoid jumping while inputting the command. Other thing that I used to do on VanPri was instead of doing a 360 with Lilith, I used to do forward, back, down, and up+Punch.
Execution on keyboard is SOOO much easier than with a stick. People complain that its too easy, and some are saying sticks like Hitbox and Mixbox should be banned.
yeah.. most people who use sticks cant transfer over to hitbox because its not "easier" its different" it might be easier for a FPS PC player to go to hitbox than an arcade stick when they first start fighting games. But its not easier. I remember spooky saying the "korean backdash" on hitbox was cheap. I'd like to see him do it. within 30 seconds he would take his hand off the movement buttons and shake his wrist. trust me. its not easy. So take that thumb and stick it up your ass.
As primarily a keyboard player that also uses stick, I'm glad this exists, I had thoughts about this recently wishing it was a thing because I like the arcade buttons for attack inputs because of its responsiveness but find it more comfortable to use keyboard for movement and special/directional input. I might actually buy this or a second version they release. Great video!
Do you guys make flipped versions? I play MUGEN with keypad 1/2/3/5 as my directions and asd/zxc for my buttons and I'd be pretty interested in a MUGEN-pad, haha.
You’re really lucky that you get sent stuff like that for free. I live in a 3rd world country where that mixbox costs 12,500 of our countries currency. Since I was a kid I have been fascinated by the way arcade sticks are made and how they work and the general feel they give you when you press them and use them. But as I grew older the arcade community here grew smaller and smaller. Til there were only a handful of arcades left. I saves up my allowance for three (3) years for me to be able to buy a PS4. And an additional 5 months to buy Street Fighter 5. But it still doesn’t feel the same as playing in an arcade. The way you feel when you press the buttons of the controller aren’t like the way you feel when you press the buttons of an arcade stick. You’re really lucky and I really do envy you. Well, sad(?) story aside, I really do love your content and hope that you would continuously grow, both your channel and you as a person in general.
Dont know if anybody already commented this but the way I did 720° on keyboard is I would put my finger horizontaly on the arow keys and then just spin it around. Works like charm once you get used to it. :)
you need to buffer zangief's super from another move. it will never come out the way you're doing it because he'll always jump. And you don't need to do a full circle for his SPD. a 225 degree motion is enough
Using Keyboard to do Zangief's super is the same as what you would do when using a controller or arcade stick. You need to either come from a jump or cancel into it. That's the basic. Funny part in all of this is that once you get the hang of the double 360 degree, It's so much faster to use out of nowhere than using a Stick or The controller this is base on my experience since I use stick, controller and keyboard depending on what version of a fighting game I have available. If this works without the delay issue of some Keyboards this is good.
The feature in keyboards that let's you press as many keys as you want at once is called n-key rollover, in case you where wondering. Most gaming keyboards have 0-key rollover these days.
to do 720 motions on arrow keys consistentely you need to buffer them with a light attack. eg. s.lp > 720 it makes for a decent mixup on hit i guess, but its hard to find set ups for it that arent completely predictable or easily punished.
I’ve always desired a stick like this, genuinely thought I’d never find one and would have to make one myself. This would help my execution so much while also still keeping dashes easy. Currently playing on pad but the D-pad is still not quite enough.
Lol I remember playing with my siblings in the same manner. One person on one part of the keyboard and the other on the opposite side. XD And we had to take turns.
I quickly tried WASD on one hand and fightstick buttons on the other in DBFZ and it felt great. Although, being able to play at an angle with two devices helped. I agree that the Mixbox's layout doesn't seem all that comfortable.
this controllers work wonders with most fighting games due to the nature of how skills are programmed. They are detected as up, downs, left/right, angles etc. The only problem are skills like the ones that require 360 degree rotations like Zangief's pile driver, but you get used to it after a while. I love playing most games using the keyboard than controllers (fighting games) for me, WASD keys are way more responsive than any stick or regular controller.
I used to play so many arcade games like this on emulators. King of fighters 98/2000, metal slug, garou mark of the wolf, samurai showdown. Oh the memories :)
Sure it works great for hado's and shoryus, but what about guile and vega's dreaded chicken wing input? I haven't even mentioned Ivy's command grabs in Soul Calibur...
Usually two circles we've been doing from jump - you can't jump during jump - so jump up or into the opponent and start spinning before hitting the ground.
a reason why most ppl who uses keyboard prefer WASD over the arrow keys is for that exact same reason 6:44 the placement of WASD is way more easy to press W for mid finger as it is on a kinda diagonal placement above S and A, they should've of fallow up that layout instead of arrow keys and they would've of hit the mark with it.
Best way to buffer Zangiefs CA is either with jump in, forward dash or forward MK. Using the animation to do the double circles and then pressing the punch button when the animations are over.
I was thinking of sticking to a ps4 controller for Tekken 7 because I'm a very new player and never used a stick before, plus the d-pad seems more convenient than the stick on the character I want to use. Didn't realize they made stuff like this with directional buttons instead of sticks, that would be great to have if I want to use something different!
Since I used to play emulator games forever and ever on keyboard.. Yes, this one is certainly for me. I bought a Mayflash arcade stick for a year or so ago, and while I have practiced using it a lot, I simply cannot do any kind of Shoryuken movements with it. They just need a PC version. Though if it has "shortcuts".. makes me wonder if it'll be banned from tournaments.. Personally, I want to put the buttons on the left side and the directional keys on the right like a keyboard.
For the question for the piledriver imput buffering, I think you can go like you'd go with Tager on Blazblue, using a non jump cancelable normal to buffer the directional imputs for the critical art lol. Just a guess though, I'm a total noob when it comes to SFV, just know about the buffering thing cause Bullet apparently is a thing in Blazblue Centralfiction rip.
If this is gonna be used, they need to address the lack of input register on down+fwd. It's like ghosting problems in keyboards. And yes, as someone who did MUGEN before, I've used mech keyboards with no ghosting and the play experience improved tons. For the product, good idea, long time coming, just needs tweaks.
9:20 with a keyboard only option I can think of is do a dash or any type of move that gives you some sort timing for perform the move without the character actually moving when you press directions so he wont jump, remember you only need time for perform the first "360" then the 2nd one should be easy as is your regular SPD motion.
I would love a fighting stick that also feature keyboard buttons wasd and keypad number one to six as when i play tekken some characters movements for certain combos are easier for me with keyboard buttons but also have a joy stick on it as well
I'm a keyboard user when I use fighting games, but I'm used to playing with the direction buttons on the right, so even though I like this, it's a no go.
Elivanse, you mean left handed arcade sticks, the correct handed (XD j/k), the right handed people use the left hand on the stick and the right on the buttons, if the stick is on the right, we cross the arms , i've played on a few arcades were the arcade was on the other side, i was weird.
i think if you gonna do the full spin you have to press right+right down+down+down left+left+left up+up, you get idea you have to take account for the diagonal directions
TERMINATOR-CPR right, he'd have to do a piano motion in which he sustains the last pressed key while he presses the next one down and only then let go of the first.
Actually you can just jump and have the last input pressed the moment you land. I used to do this for Goku's super in Hyper Dimension since it's a full circle too (but just one, not two) and I played everything on keyboard too.
I would love it, I've played a lot of SFIV as cody and I didnt had money to buy an arcade stick so What I used to do was WASD for directions and numpad 123456 for attacks, it worked out wonders for me, since that time I've played no way other than his on PC fighting games.
i would so try one of these. i already use a hitbox more often than not, so i would love to see how this feels in comparison. thanks for the video! great job!!!
YES I NEED THIS I am a keyboard player and find it to be a very good peripheral when it comes down to my preference, And I would like to use it when playing on other platforms
Man this stick is actually pretty cool. I just wish the directional pad and buttons were swapped. I got so used to using my right hand for directional inputs and my left hand for button inputs. Especially on emulators back in my middle school days on Kawaks when playing Marvel and Alpha 2. Would totally pay good money for a reversed edition.
I've never managed to get the hang of using the Keyboard for gaming, so I'm impressed seeing you pull off combo's on this, I can't even pull off a fireball, let alone anything else. I'm surprised it even works...looks interesting. Also as a side note, might want to put a link in the description for where to buy it or the manufacturers website, Google just gave me search results for DJ equipment.
For Zangief's super do it during a buffer space, so do it during a dash or during a jump, hitting the attack as you land, or in connection with an attack.
Zangiefs Critical Art can only be used if you are going to do it out of a jump or if you're going to try and confirm out of a combo if I recall correctly.
To do Final Atomic Buster on keyboard, try to start jumping forward, do the first circle in the air and finish the second circle on the ground. This helps a LOT!!!
I did a similar thing with my DIY Arcade Bartop. I don't like the joystick. So, I made my controller board with twelve buttons, six per row: Select, Up, Start, LP, MP, HP Left, Down, Right, LK, MK, HK And this is the best layout I've play'd ever. If the Mixbox change the keyboard keys for arcade buttons, could be a great thing!!!
for Zangief's super you need to buffer the super motion while doing another move (like a standing heavy), during jumping frames, or during the dashing animation. Basically anytime that you're restricted from jumping.
Good job on this showcase. I also had to use the key board as a kid with my little brother when playing multi player games. I play mugen on a laptop and very much enjoy using WSAD for movement and UIOJKL for the rest. Well done on this video.
Keyboards have been able to make 10+ inputs at a time for years now, so that is not a factor. The term for the limited number of inputs was called Ghosting BTW.
I remember my keyboard days playing KOF like this. Those were the dark days but never knew people would be making this. It is very precise tbh once you get the hang of it but zangief ca is just impossible
with ruy movements is not problem BUT circular movements, or half moon ahead and back is very dificult, for Example, play with Zangief or Alex. is like de Keyboard in the Computer
MUGEN flashing across the screen was sooooooo me lol You get a thumbs up for that, fellow mugen player. 9:22 Critical Art with the Russian wrestler is done from the air if you're standing, or starting from the standing animation from knocked-down state. You could also make a hit connect to your opponent or whiff a hit just so the Up direction won't let you jump since your character is locked into another animation. It's tricky to someone who doesn't normally play Zangief, don't feel bad. :)
dude I had the same experience as a kid with the split keyboard vs play. I'm actually looking forward to giving this arcade stick a try as I always felt more confident with the movement execution on a keyboard
I actually play better on my mechanical keyboard than my arcade stick in many fighting games, but one critical flaw here is that WASD is objectively inferior than ASD + space. Your middle finger having to do both down and up is worse than offloading the jump to your thumb. This is not a matter of opinion. There will absolutely be a learning curve to using your thumb on space or a button below, but all it is is building the muscle memory. Refusing to adapt simply because one is used to WASD is handicapping yourself, period. That all being said, I'm planning on picking up or making myself a proper hitbox soon, so this isn't hating on the tech at all, just this bad layout.
This could easily be resolved by having an optional "spacebar" lower down on the controller, I'd think--then it'd seem like a win-win to me. You could even train yourself to do 360s on the "up/w" key while using the space bar as a regular jump. The only problem with this is that the space and the up/w would pretty much have to be hard-bound to share the same function at a hardware-level because a normal fighting game won't let you bind two up directional buttons simultaneously.
For Zangief's combo I do the first normally... and when he is on the air i quickly do the second circle and then the hit controller as soon as he hits the floor... works for me :3
dbzf probably works wonders with this. like u could probably super short cut the instant air dashes, to where the air dash looks like u are on the ground still. which is scary fast rush down mixups or instant overhead lol.
I know this may come as a surprise for many but on PC there is a large community that swear by keyboard controls for fighters. I know it seems crazy, you would think you would only use a keyboard if you had no choice but they seem to love it. I wonder if a hitbox is actually allowed in fighter tournaments. That would be interesting to see.
I think if you're a zangief player, you probably should just stick with a joystick. The keyboard button layout seems more practical for basically everything except doing circles, and especially two circles.
dont know if any post it yet but what u want to do to zangif 1lvl or 3lvl cmd grab is jump and do the first circle in the air and as u land do the second ( if u can do both ing air even better it goes of as u land ), this is how new zanngif players most of them @ less are able to pull off this power, there are also some cheese to it, where you actually dont do the full circle but i cant remember the specific commands, the first is where u walk up on some one and do the special grab I know on the first circle u dont do the up, and the second one is a quick finger one where you dash in and do ur circle and a half also pretty fast and u can put a light kick in there to confirm the grab in most games but some of them if your not boding the person when u do light kick into lvl 1 or 3 it pushes them out of range!!!
this is really cool, i have always played on keyboard and looking to get an arcade stick but i'm a bit intimidated of the stick motion, i guess this is just perfect for someone like me
I'd love something like this, but inverted, since I use the arrow keys (with 4 fingers on at all times, like old-school play) with my right hand to move, and then I use the left with about any configuration I want for the attack buttons (currently use a S,E,R,T+SB for most games). So I guess a "left handed" version of this would be optimal for me... But I'd really like if a company did a modular "hitbox" like controler, where you could just move around your buttons and place them as you wanted.
been playing SF4 on Keyboard for so long it's really impossible to make the switch to stick and it'd take literally months to get used to one. Meanwhile this is the controller I've always dreamed of having. Wish they make a version which replaces the other regular buttons with the numpad too.
When I broke my arcade stick and no longer felt like playing seriously, I settled with the keyboard and realized its potential. There are many advantages to keyboard-like directions that arcade sticks don't have (ofc and vice versa), but I don't recommend having w and s in one button for characters that rely on tiger knee inputs and 360/720, based on my experience. I think having ↑ on another finger is much better in many ways(I changed it to space). But... you've mentioned HitBox's layout already, soo... Most problem is just that the game has to read ↓↘→ or ←↙↓,if you lift your ↓ too soon to prepare for ↑, before you pressed ←,it becomes←↓。
This is for cassuals, the good players use DK Bongos.
samba di amigo
Guitar hero controller
Atari 2600 1 Burton joystick
the spin controller :P
Godot Trite nes exercise/dance mat
As someone who plays fighting games on a keyboard, this is my dream controller.
PH's Replays Thanks!!
Hey mixbox Do you make them with the keys on the right side and the buttons on the left? I kind of play weird :/
The right one will be lanuched in the coming months !
My hero!
thats the one i need xd im used to moving with the right hand on keyboard when playing fighting games

yvespandora Yep, raw(standing) 720 is very hard to execute. Even more on this controller
Never got to do a 720 at all. I'm glad they got rid of the other ridiculous commands like the delta command.
that makes a lot of sense and explains to me why I'm terrible at full circles, actually I'm gonna go input kokonoe's astral after an attack rather than raw now.....
But in hitbox, you don’t have to buffer. Standing 720s baby. Too bad gief sucks
Keyboards and arcade sticks should be put together just like how a controller has a D'pad and an analog. 🎮
I've played SF4 on a keyboard for a really long time, and I am a gief player on it.
So what I do is that I jump in the air and do the first full-circle in the air and then do the other full-circle as I land, this helps me pull off the CA.

Did the post office kick that box to your house?
lol I collected it from the post office and walked home with it so the box got squished
I cannot stop laughing at this comment
I. NEED.
So get a Hitbox controller then
This is the controller I want to play Tekken 7!! I know the stick is convenient to play with but as a keyboard user this is appealing to me.
I find these are really good for charge characters like Guile because you can hold back or down during combos so much easier.
I need this. I use my keyboard for tekken and a fighting stick mini for the attack buttons. This just puts the buttons i use perfectly.
I used to play SFEX2+ on PC with PS1 emulators. To do the 720 supers on the ground (Gief and Darun Mister, for example), you need to buffer them into something.

welp Razer gonna do this next and you know the Razer thing *RGB* all over on all the things! rad video man this is very new & interesting
I hope so
iRAWkTheWorld well being Razer it will be 300+ or so
They've already done an arcade stick, which has no RGBs tho

thanks gunblenotrstf!
As a kid growing up China, my friends and I mostly played fighting games on emulators, because arcades were for delinquents lol.
As a Mexican person, I can confirm that we Mexicans slightly prefer SF on an emulator rather than arcade
I think you can shortcut the spinning piledriver, but just holding down back, then tapping up forward .
I would love to see this getting play at next EVO
Douchebag Dragon 2 who ever would it be would be a legend.. but I can see this is really good for tekken 7 😎
I hope the input isn't slower.
mark jan blanca Wavedash would feel awkward on that mixbox.
well, if anyone can win with this, it will be guaranteed sponsorship
Ya it's like when Luffy use PS1 controller to win EVO
YES !!! i love this stick, Why not call this a MUGEN Stick :p Played Mugen so much with keyboard ;) Cool video !
Wicked Gamer & Collector Thanks for the comment!
Do you guys make flipped versions? I play MUGEN with keypad 1/2/3/5 as my directions and asd/zxc for my buttons and I'd be pretty interested in a MUGEN-pad, haha.
Much better name/association than Games for Windows Fighter 4
William Smith its a bit harder to do 360s, but much easier to do half circles
I use WASD for movement and Insert, Home, Pgup, Delete, End, and pgdown for my attacks.
You’re really lucky that you get sent stuff like that for free. I live in a 3rd world country where that mixbox costs 12,500 of our countries currency. I actually would totally play with this. The stick part of arcade sticks is always what drove me back to pad, but this removes that.
This is exactly what I was looking for.
Kvng Scarab Thanks!
it would be nice is the movement keys were on a disc so you could rotate it to any angle you want. assuming you want an angle.
Alton Forde Thanks for the comment!
Dont know if anybody already commented this but the way I did 720° on keyboard is I would put my finger horizontaly on the arow keys and then just spin it around. Works like charm once you get used to it. :)
if there have been any samurai's in the joystick arcade gaming community today, mister nihongogamer would have lost his head for this betrayal.
Double SPD shortcut command is
Back> Down> Forward> Back> Down> Forward> Up + Punch
you need to buffer zangief's super from another move. it will never come out the way you're doing it because he'll always jump. And you don't need to do a full circle for his SPD. a 225 degree motion is enough

love the clicking noises all around
U can't execute the CA with Zangief while standing. You need to buffer it in a dash, jump or other moves.
to do 720 motions on arrow keys consistentely you need to buffer them with a light attack.
eg. s.lp > 720
it makes for a decent mixup on hit i guess, but its hard to find set ups for it that arent completely predictable or easily punished.
Pretty much only Desk can do a standing 720° CA, so don’t feel bad. Otherwise, as I’m sure someone already mentioned, it’s almost always a buffer.
XD And we had to take turns.
glad it wasn't only me!
The dark age hit many of us...
Yeah me too was a lot of fun though
The best part is that it only uses keyboard style keys for movement. Keyboard keys for attacks are terrible.
Did that with N64 emulators back in the day
You have to jump and do 2 cycles in the air when you hit the ground press punch , or use standing unique hard punche forward to super cancel x)
I quickly tried WASD on one hand and fightstick buttons on the other in DBFZ and it felt great. Although, being able to play at an angle with two devices helped. I agree that the Mixbox's layout doesn't seem all that comfortable.
I love it. Played kof, sfa and mugen on keyboard for years when I still didn't have a stick. I won't have any problems using it.

UselessInnovations cool!
I've got it. And as long as you're used to keyboard movement, there is no need for adjustment for the left hand. You're just immediately good to go
I used to play so many arcade games like this on emulators. King of fighters 98/2000, metal slug, garou mark of the wolf, samurai showdown. Oh the memories :)
Years of pc fighters and emulators make this quite an interesting idea. I'd imagine this saves a lot of strain that using, say, the numpad would
Sure it works great for hado's and shoryus, but what about guile and vega's dreaded chicken wing input? I haven't even mentioned Ivy's command grabs in Soul Calibur...
Usually two circles we've been doing from jump - you can't jump during jump - so jump up or into the opponent and start spinning before hitting the ground.
I used to put hours in M.U.G.E.N. a lot back in the day so this is ny dream controler
the uppercut shortcut was a thing back in SF4, you double tap the bottom corner and it will read it as a DP input
a reason why most ppl who uses keyboard prefer WASD over the arrow keys is for that exact same reason 6:44 the placement of WASD is way more easy to press W for mid finger as it is on a kinda diagonal placement above S and A, they should've of fallow up that layout instead of arrow keys and they would've of hit the mark with it.
Zeithri Thank you for the interest ! It is tournament entitled as it has SOCD cleaner. The right version will be launched in the coming month
I love the focus you’ve been doing on Fighting games lately. 👍
Same thing here, I really don't know why they don't make right handed arcade sticks
Elivanse you can buy arcade sticks with the joystick on the other side, they're just not very common.
And they must cost a ton more
Elivanse, you mean left handed arcade sticks, the correct handed (XD j/k), the right handed people use the left hand on the stick and the right on the buttons, if the stick is on the right, we cross the arms , i've played on a few arcades were the arcade was on the other side, i was weird.
The right one will be launched in the coming months!
Curious to see a inverted layout of this controller, and the guys who makes this controller have a page to buy it ?
i think if you gonna do the full spin you have to press right+right down+down+down left+left+left up+up, you get idea you have to take account for the diagonal directions
I used to play on keyboard. My layout is a, s, d for left, down, right and spacebar for jump, works great for fighting games.
YES I NEED THIS
I am a keyboard player and find it to be a very good peripheral when it comes down to my preference,
And I would like to use it when playing on other platforms
Yeah. I use this because I can now control movement with 3 fingers instead of 2 fingers or just the thumb.
Feels faster and more precise
Man this stick is actually pretty cool. I just wish the directional pad and buttons were swapped. I got so used to using my right hand for directional inputs and my left hand for button inputs. Especially on emulators back in my middle school days on Kawaks when playing Marvel and Alpha 2.
Would totally pay good money for a reversed edition.
Shadaloo Vile right one Will be lanuched soon!
Mixbox Arcade Oh shit, I wasn't expecting y'all to reply! Well in that case I'll be definitely looking forward to that release!
Shadaloo Vile They got it released pretty recently. Go check their website now!
This is badass. This is the only way I would go back to playing on a fight stick.
I had just heard about this recently and I think it’s cool that you’re showing it off
For Zangief's super do it during a buffer space, so do it during a dash or during a jump, hitting the attack as you land, or in connection with an attack.
So, I made my controller board with twelve buttons, six per row:
Select, Up, Start, LP, MP, HP
Left, Down, Right, LK, MK, HK
And this is the best layout I've play'd ever. If the Mixbox change the keyboard keys for arcade buttons, could be a great thing!!!
for Zangief's super you need to buffer the super motion while doing another move (like a standing heavy), during jumping frames, or during the dashing animation. Basically anytime that you're restricted from jumping.
Thanks for showing me. These shortcuts will come in handy for Akuma combos in Tekken 7. I'm excited I can not wait to get one.
Good job on this showcase. I also had to use the key board as a kid with my little
brother when playing multi player games. I play mugen on a laptop and very much
enjoy using WSAD for movement and UIOJKL for the rest. Well done on this video.
Keyboards have been able to make 10+ inputs at a time for years now, so that is not a factor. The term for the limited number of inputs was called Ghosting BTW.
Good Layout ! Thanks for showing it
I remember my keyboard days playing KOF like this.
Mix Box looks awesome! Who needs computer keyboards for PC gaming when you got a Mix Box?
Dustin Nunn thanks!
Both the wasd and spacebar (hitbox) layout are good. It’s just the ring finger executions
John Bon Dacasin haha I've been a keyboard fgc player for a while... The ring finger is literally ass. It took forever to get it's dexterity up!
Týr Thanks for the comment
This could easily be resolved by having an optional "spacebar" lower down on the controller, I'd think--then it'd seem like a win-win to me.
You could even train yourself to do 360s on the "up/w" key while using the space bar as a regular jump.
The only problem with this is that the space and the up/w would pretty much have to be hard-bound to share the same function at a hardware-level because a normal fighting game won't let you bind two up directional buttons simultaneously.
mind -> blown. Thanks for the comment, maybe now i can do 4123698 on keyboard fast enough to make ground level Ensenga on Johnny in GG.
Týr I
Steve Fox no, but having to readjust your hands makes more room for error.
For Zangief's combo I do the first normally... and when he is on the air i quickly do the second circle and then the hit controller as soon as he hits the floor... works for me :3
I actually built one of these in 2017 using an old Gateway keyboard and an Xbox One controller.
I wonder if they'll make one where you got the attack buttons on the left and the movement buttons on the right.
HxKong the right one will be launched soon!
Can I find a mixbox with hand keys on the other side?
I started fighting games on the keyboard through Melty Blood Act Cadenza and this might be a walk down memory lane for me if I get one of these.
It would be really interesting to see you play marvel vs capcom infinite and dbfz with that thing!
dbzf probably works wonders with this. like u could probably super short cut the instant air dashes, to where the air dash looks like u are on the ground still. which is scary fast rush down mixups or instant overhead lol.
Dream controller for a keyboard player. Only if the arrow buttons were on right side as they are in a keyboard
As a PC master race guy, THIS is literally the controller of my dreams.
I had the same experience with my brother :)) I want a stick like that, but i don t know where to buy one.
this is really cool, i have always played on keyboard and looking to get an arcade stick but i'm a bit intimidated of the stick motion, i guess this is just perfect for someone like me
I'd love something like this, but inverted, since I use the arrow keys (with 4 fingers on at all times, like old-school play) with my right hand to move, and then I use the left with about any configuration I want for the attack buttons (currently use a S,E,R,T+SB for most games).
Shin Akuma Thanks! Do you mean all keypads controller?
...Wouldn't that just be a keyboard
Yea, a keyboard with a PCB that works on consoles without converters.
