i actually got this after experiencing leverless with my Haute42 T13. While I love both of them, the B16 is a better to carry with you when traveling to places but I do need to bring my manual to remember the input switch commands. Also I love clicky sound buttons while playing.
Definitely something I'm going to keep in mind! Looks pretty much like what I want. Makes me wonder if you could just get a right-sized spacebar and place that over the two lower jump buttons.
Nice review!, when i tried my keyboard for fighting games i was very pleasantly surprised. Theres a good reason for that, when i tried it first in the 90s, keyboards didnt have nkey rollover, so i couldnt register multiple keypresses, and that made it miss a lot of moves. This is not the case anymore, and its a very logical working setup, its way faster than lever in a more comfortable position than arcade buttons, lever is more intuitive because you can see that the cardinal directions of the lever, match the movements, but this layout assigns one dedicated finger to each movement key, its way better and faster.
On around 4:50, I was wondering if you could try the WASD layout but with a wider W key like the long keycap that was included, I'm curious how if it'll improve button ergonomics for stuff like 360 or TK motions, I remember the golden lever people over at ASIndo use a wider W key
I have it and everything you said is true is incredible for the price, also being so small helps for countering the drive impact. The switches that it uses, leobog v4, are very will respected even in the keyboard community for how good are for the price. I have 0 complains with this controller 10/ 10, I also use it to play platform games like hollow knight
its actually pretty decent 😂 enjoyed using it for mvc2 which is pretty challenging after years of playing keyboard back in the mid 2000's and early 2010's going back to keyboard style felt natural barely any adjustment period
Just in case this makes it easier and unless they changed the SPD input rules, you don't have to input the directional inputs in order. The system only checks that the four cardinal directions have been pressed within a certain time. So if you hit left and right first then down and up in whatever order you want, you should still get the grab. I don't know all the details on it cause I don't play grapplers, but my buddy plays Lily, a d he said he does something to skip the diagonal inputs
Now i'm waiting for the "arcade games stuck on xbox 360" video haha! There are a lot of shmups, and a few games exclusive to that generation with no ports to modern platforms. best examples are tekken 5, 6, tag tournament, and soul calibur 4, 5. Probably some more i cannot think of
Idk. I'm playing fighting games on a keyboard since Mortal Kombat 4. It's OK way to play fighting games. Almost like any leverless controller but with more buttons.
People have been playing with normal keyboards for decades, it is the same as playing on any other leverless except they usually don't have keyboard keycaps.
I've been waiting for this specific review, thank you!
Literally just needs to be southpaw (reversed) and this controller would be a instant buy for me. So close to perfection
A legacy arrow key main. I see you, I see you...
Like wise - but need it on console
This little guy feels so good to play on. Not my go to, but still fun to use when im playing certain games.
Im happy to see you review on this, i'e had it for awhile and been using it for Tekken 8. I absolutely love it!
Watched a lot of your videos this week. Good info. Thanks for everything
Hope they were helpful!
Damn, I was actually waiting for you to do this review.

this is what I'm rocking to get into fighting games for the last 3 months

I ended up enjoying the B16 more than the T/R16 😌

been using this controller about 5 months, feels like the only fight stick usable for MK with some key bind adjustments
Looks so different here!
How to get this to work on console?
I really want one of these but reversed so arrows are on the right and attacks are on the left. :(
Is it available in reverse/mirror?

Tempting! If I buy a new xbox
8:17 I saw that 😬
Anyone know if this works with a Steam Deck?
Looks glorbus
You should checkout the Azeron Cyborg if you haven't already.
$50 for B16, WTF?! On taobao it's 150 yuan. I bought two S16 for 450 yuan ($65 without shipping).
how many controllers do you have bro?
A few
This is what my favorite yoshimitsu player uses. (Schizophrenic69) :3
Leobog

:)
Its actually really interesting seeing a keyboard work as a fighting game controller - or like.. semi-work.

@DriveCancelDC
Came to say the same.
I first learned about people using Keyboards for FGs back with the earlier BlazBlues
what do you mean semi-work? they’re literally the most optimal way to play lol
I use my actual keyboard. It's honestly no worse than hitbox
Incel?
I have one. They are great.
