Phreakmods Link: Introduction and Install onto Sanwa JLF

- If you're traveling to fighting game competitions, or simply like to swap from a balltop to a battop on occasion, the Phreakmods Link is an indispensable solution to allow fightstick to fit in most common bags or backpacks. In this Tech Corner video, Joseph Howell (aka NoGoodCitizen) shows you how to install it on the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT joystick.
The Phreakmods JLF Link is also compatible with the Hori Hayabusa joystick lever. Additionally, model are available for the Seimitsu LS-32, and Seimitsu LS-5x/6x series levers.

I use the Sanwa extended jlf aluminum shaft in my case because my joystick is lower in my case. PhreakMods should make a variation of the link with an extended shaft for those that have their joystick lever lower in the case, but still want the quick disconnect function.
Couldn't you just buy a rising mounting plate...?
Only issues that I really have is that sometimes it’s so so so hard to unscrew the ball top from the link. It’s just stuck on there.

Does that added thickness along the stick ever bug you? part of me feels like the latch would be annoying compared to a thin, regular stick. Otherwise this seems like such a great solution to an annoying problem of transporting arcade sticks.
I have an extra plastic collar on my dust washer and the thickness never bothered me, i don't have the phreakmod link, but i assume itd be like having the plastic collar on your stick

Hi, this shaft is compatible whith matcatz alpha stick?
At the moment I cannot say. The Alpha uses a Sanwa clone stick, rather than a Sanwa JLF. It may work, but the models of Sanwa clone sticks can vary a bit. Therefore I can say it will not work with the existing lever; your best bet is to get an authentic Sanwa JLF, to which you can install into the Alpha.
Is this fit in victrix arcade
More than likely so long as Victrix uses a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT lever. It always has used this model before.

Just purchased one during the sale, I did have a quick question. When I installed it, the e-clip i removed from my TE fits loose around the link shaft and slides off resulting in a loose stick (it does not snap onto the Link shaft like it does the stock shaft). When I reapply the clip to my old TE shaft, it works fine and holds it steady. Do I need to purchase a new clip or a new shaft for the link? Thanks
Can you post a photo to support@focusattack.com? Spoke to Phreakmods and he said: "Hmm, it's possible the e clip is worn, but it's also possible it was a defect in that machined spot on the base of the link, can he send a picture of the e-clip slot from the Link's base?"
@@focusattackcom i recently purchased two of these from you and I am having the same issue. Yesterday, I was in the middle of a DOA6 match and the whole shaft pulled out because the clip popped off. The clip was loose on both of the phreakmod shafts and I can slide them off by hand, but I need a flat screwdriver to get them off of the stock JLF shaft. I just ordered a third one from another vendor for my current build. I hope it works better because I really like this product.

Update: Thank you for reaching out. Focus Attack and Phreak Mods took great care of me. I was sent several replacement lower shafts, even though I only needed two. The replacement shafts work as intended. Both of these companies really go the extra mile to make sure their customers are taken care of. I will be installing the Phreakmod EX Grooves on all my builds.
