Great video. Question my cluster is not working. The display where it says brake and ignition is not lighting up? Do you know anything about fixing ot?
I'd check the fuses on the interior (below the steering wheel by the hood latch release) and see if any are blown first. If those are good, the light bulbs inside the IP cluster went out. Not sure if you can get inside it or not but this might be the way to go. If you can't replace the bulbs then you'll be looking at buying a new IP cluster.
I just bought a 09 Murano and replaced the Accelerator pedal sensor and got no results. (I was told this was the issue) It doesn't rev up. Is this the limp mode low tranny fluid? I didn't check it. I did hear a loud whining when 1st started, I thought it was the pw steering pump. Thanks much for any help!
Hello, this sounds to me like a transmission or throttle body issue. Go ahead and check your transmission fluid level and top it off as necessary, it may also be time to change the fluid if it looks really dark. If that doesn't get any results, take off your intake tube leading to the throttle body and have someone rev the engine while you watch and see if the throttle plate moves at all. If it's not moving, then I would replace the throttle body assembly. Hope this helps, thanks for watching! 👍
I just replaced the whole gas pedal assembly (pedal and sensor). Is this the procedure to run now? It’s running fine but code is still showing. 2011 Nissan Titan
I'm not sure if it's necessary when replacing the gas pedal, I'm leaning towards no. But if there's a code on the ECU, this procedure won't work until the code is gone. Hope this helps, good luck and thanks for watching! 🙂
I have a problem with the check engine light that doesn't turn on no matter what. I believe the light bulb may be damaged. So I can't follow the process due to that light since I can't see when it starts blinking or go off 😢 I tried with taking note of the time with a cronometer but still not sure if the process was done correctly. :/
Sheesh, that's a tough spot to be in. I suggest going to your local Nissan shop and letting them reset the idle through a scanner tool and see about the check engine light not working. Hope this helps! 🙂
I replaced the battery on my 2017 Nissan Titan and it feels like it's missing/vibrating. Do I do this same procedure on my truck? It wouldn't hurt to try it, Titan. Is the truck bringing any trouble codes/check engine light? How were the ignition coils when you replaced the plugs? That might be worth looking at if they are fouled up it could cause a miss.
Not sure if it still works on newer Nissans but you could try it out. I don't think it would hurt anything. If it doesn't work, a mechanic shop should be able to reset it using an OBD scanner tool. Thanks for watching! 👍

Yes, you can try this procedure, it shouldn't hurt anything. I'd check for vacuum leaks or holes in your intake system as well. That could be letting in unmetered air which would affect your idle speed as well.
It could mean that it's not working as it should and might need to be replaced. I would try to go forward with resetting the idle and see if it works anyway. Hope this helps, thanks for watching! 👍

I'm doing this on my 06 Nissan frontier 2.5 with manual transmission, but for some reason i can't hear the throttle body working, with either the new one or the old one, what could be the issue?

I need help relearning the throttlebody on my 2007 maxima I fallowed all the steps but still not working. I got a new throttle and still a can’t make it work
Nissan did not make this process easy at all for us. It took me a few tries to finally get it too. Just keep trying and if you still can't get it to work, take it into a Nissan dealer, their techs should have a OBD2 tool that can reset the idle speed with the push of a button. Thanks for watching! 👍
Question, i changed my spark plugs and made sure everything was connected and good but it has a rough idle and feels like it almost loses power but the brakes are hard, Would you recommend me reset the idle?
Hello! Is the check engine light coming on? How many miles does your vehicle have? Assuming you have the correct spark plugs installed, I suspect you might have an ignition coil going bad? (happens quite often on the 2.5 liter engine)
Ok, if it's still running rough go ahead and try the idle reset procedure. It shouldn't hurt anything and worth a shot. If the check engine light does pop on again, take it to your local auto parts store and they can scan it for free and tell you what's going on.
Awesome, glad you found it. Was just about to send you our email (trickshiftgarage@gmail.com) if you still needed it. Good luck and thanks for watching Mervin! 😁
Hello! Not sure if it will work on that particular engine as Nissan might have come up with an easier way to reset the idle speed. What I would do is call a Nissan dealership/mechanic shop and see what is involved with getting your idle speed reset. Hope this helps, good luck and thanks for watching 🙂
Hi, I'm not sure if it works on your vehicle but it shouldn't hurt to try it! Nissan used this reset procedure on most of their cars and trucks so it might work. Let us know how it goes 😊

It should be, it does take a few times to get it right though. Hang in there and keep trying, if all else fails the Nissan dealership should be able to reset it 😉
Hello, Mike! The benefit is a smoother running engine and less gas wasted during idling. My idle was so bad (around 1200) that it even lit the check engine light up saying it was too high lol. This information was buried in the Service manual, apparently Nissan used the same re-learn procedure for (almost) all of their electronic throttle bodied vehicles at one point. It definitely took me a few times to performing correctly but it's worth it in the end. Thanks for watching! 😊
Would this work on a 2010 infiniti qx56? My suv is going into limp mode after about 30 to 60 seconds. This happened after a really dead battery and had to jump it which took a rather long time to get started. Thank you
Hello! It should work for your QX56 once you get a new battery installed. This requires a voltage of 12.9 V in order for the idle relearn process to take hold and learn it. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hmm, my guess is the throttle body has gone bad and it needs to be replaced. That's what happened with mine too. You could have a shop diagnose the exact problem if you want a professional opinion though. Here's a video on how to replace the throttle body just in case your interested in what all is involved: ruclips.net/video/hd64-icRnFI/видео.html Hope this helps, thanks for watching! 👍
Yeah, it's honestly pretty tricky to do. It took me a few times until I got it to re-learn the idle. If all else fails, a Nissan shop should be able to reset it for you by using an OBD 2 scanner. Hope this helps!
This was my experience too. I finally got it to work when I pressed the pedal down 5 times as fast as I could. I know it says 5 times within 5 seconds on the service manual, but just do it as quick as you can and see if that works for you. If all else fails a Nissan service shop should be able to reset using an OBD scanner tool. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!👍
Well, you should only have to do it once if it's done correctly lol. But honestly it took me a few times to get it down. I think I wasn't pushing the pedal down fast enough when your supposed to push it down 5 times in under 5 seconds. So the time it worked I did it as fast as I could and it went through finally lol. Patience and persistence is key here 😉
For each step where you say “ensure gas pedal is fully released”, are we supposed to have pressed it prior to? Or is there no need to “press and release”, only ensure it’s no pressed when performing the steps that follow?

Thank you
You're welcome, thanks for watching! 👍
I'm doing this on my 06 Nissan frontier 2.5 with manual transmission, but for some reason i can't hear the throttle body working, with either the new one or the old one, what could be the issue?
Hmmm that's a tough one but sounds like something might be up with your electrical or the lack of power going to the throttlebody, check around for any loose or undone ground wires. Hope this helps, thanks for watching! 👍
Did you found any loose wires etc? I have the same issue with my xtrail t30 manual
Worked thank you ✌️
Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment! We appreciate the support! 🤟

Thanks man you help me to
You're welcome, glad to help and thanks for watching! 🙂👍
@@TrickShiftGarageit’s there anyways I can get help 😊
Sure Chuck! I responded to your other comment on the throttle body video 😉
Sorry is this for a rough idle?
It can be interpreted as a rough idle for sure, but it's mostly for people that change their throttle body and have a high idle.
You were saying Check Engine Light but the Service Engine Soon light was blinking...
Yes I did, I meant to say Service engine soon light 😅
Is this process necessary for a 2013 Nissan Armada?
Yup, should work for that too! Thanks for watching! 👍
@@TrickShiftGarage thank you
Question, i changed my spark plugs and made sure everything was connected and good but it has a rough idle and feels like it almost loses power but the brakes are hard, Would you recommend me reset the idle?
Hello! Is the check engine light coming on? How many miles does your vehicle have?
Assuming you have the correct spark plugs installed, I suspect you might have an ignition coil going bad? (happens quite often on the 2.5 liter engine)
@@TrickShiftGarage it was on but we disconnected the battery hoping for it to reset and I have 140k miles. Its a 3.5
Ok, if it's still running rough go ahead and try the idle reset procedure. It shouldn't hurt anything and worth a shot. If the check engine light does pop on again, take it to your local auto parts store and they can scan it for free and tell you what's going on.

Brake booster vacuum line is broken or loosen.
Is there anyway I can get step by step directions? I'm struggling with following the steps along with your video
I would greatly appreciate it
😂
I just found a transcript with the video
Awesome, glad you found it. Was just about to send you our email (trickshiftgarage@gmail.com) if you still needed it. Good luck and thanks for watching Mervin! 😁
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Thank you so much, greatly appreciate it! 😁
I have nissan patrol 2022,and am following this procedure but Engine light not blinking ,and procedure is not working as well, kindly help me
Does this have to be done on a 2014 nissan sentra sv?
I think so. Most (if not all) of Nissan's electronic throttle bodies use this idle reset procedure. Thanks for watching! 👍
@@TrickShiftGarage last question if I already cleared the iac code will it still work?
I have a 2019 370Z; will this work on the VQ37VHR engine?
Hello! Not sure if it will work on that particular engine as Nissan might have come up with an easier way to reset the idle speed. What I would do is call a Nissan dealership/mechanic shop and see what is involved with getting your idle speed reset. Hope this helps, good luck and thanks for watching 🙂
@@TrickShiftGarage Thanks.
So since you start doing the 2 sec and 10 sec on and off are you holding down the gas pedal or???
Nope, leave your foot off the gas pedal during those steps. Thanks for watching! 👍
Perfect thanks
Anytime! Thanks for watching! 🤟
Does this work on bluebird sylphy 2007
Hi, I'm not sure if it works on your vehicle but it shouldn't hurt to try it! Nissan used this reset procedure on most of their cars and trucks so it might work. Let us know how it goes 😊
Sir in my i20 2011 petrol, the rpm needle immediately sets to below 0 mark as soon as the key is ON.
Even if I adjust the needle to 0 mark, 1 mark, 3, 4, 5 etc etc..., as soon as the key is ON, the rpm needle immediately drops below 0 mark.
Please help how to let the needle start at 0 and not drop below 0 mark? Is there any calibration required? If so, how?
Sounds like tachometer isn't working correctly and may need to be replaced. I recommend taking it to a mechanic and have them look at it. Good luck and thanks for watching! 🙂
My Nissan sunny 2006 automatic gear jerks while shifting 2nd gear
I ahve a 2020 Nissian Altima that i need to replace the Throttle body getting a code. Will this help to reprogram it? Thank you in advance
fully depress the accelerator peda Wait 20 seconds and Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the MIL turns ON (((((((((( NOT RUN in wait 3 seconds in stop MIL ) and ON
I have a 2015 pathfinder, i replaced my spark plugs, and cleaned up the throtle body, now its running a bit rough and idling higher than normal. I cant find the relearn, i dont have a key, i have a push start button. 😔
He literally did it with a push start button 🤦 god people are losing their brains now a days
I figured it out, I had a vacuum leak due to a hose. Replaced and relearned on its own.
Which hose
@@mycuriositypodcast Which hose was it?

Didn't work for my Nissan Altima Hybrid. You told me it's the same process......mastarrr
It should be, it does take a few times to get it right though. Hang in there and keep trying, if all else fails the Nissan dealership should be able to reset it 😉
Will this work for 2015 pathfinder platinum?
You can give it a try! Some of the newer Nissans have a different procedure.
What's the benefit of the re learn? Also , how the heck did you figure this out??
Hello, Mike! The benefit is a smoother running engine and less gas wasted during idling. My idle was so bad (around 1200) that it even lit the check engine light up saying it was too high lol.
This information was buried in the Service manual, apparently Nissan used the same re-learn procedure for (almost) all of their electronic throttle bodied vehicles at one point. It definitely took me a few times to performing correctly but it's worth it in the end. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@TrickShiftGarage that's awesome , I have a Nissan Altima so thanks for your videos they really help 👍😎👍
You're welcome bro! Plenty more to come so stay tuned! 😎👍
In the case of the 2018 Nissan Maxima, the method in the video has no effect, why?
Thank you!
I’ve tried doing this several times. Never hear the sound it should make. Any idea why?
Hmm, my guess is the throttle body has gone bad and it needs to be replaced. That's what happened with mine too. You could have a shop diagnose the exact problem if you want a professional opinion though.
Here's a video on how to replace the throttle body just in case your interested in what all is involved:

@@TrickShiftGarage awesme - thank you so much!
You're very welcome 😊
This doesn't seem to be working for my 2020 Versa I don't know what I'm doing wrong
Yeah, it's honestly pretty tricky to do. It took me a few times until I got it to re-learn the idle. If all else fails, a Nissan shop should be able to reset it for you by using an OBD 2 scanner. Hope this helps!
Tried this 5-6 times, but never got the noise from the throttle body at the start.
Got the blinks lights etc, but just sets idle back to 1250 or so…
This was my experience too.
How many time do I have to do it
Well, you should only have to do it once if it's done correctly lol. But honestly it took me a few times to get it down. I think I wasn't pushing the pedal down fast enough when your supposed to push it down 5 times in under 5 seconds. So the time it worked I did it as fast as I could and it went through finally lol. Patience and persistence is key here 😉
Ik my check engine light did flash
Now do I keep holding the pedal while the light flash
Yes, keep holding until it stops flashing. You'll have 3 seconds to start the car once it stops flashing.
For each step where you say “ensure gas pedal is fully released”, are we supposed to have pressed it prior to? Or is there no need to “press and release”, only ensure it’s no pressed when performing the steps that follow?
